Hamari Adhuri Kahani recently got tax exemption from the states of MP and UP. The decision made the makers so happy that they decided to visit UP capital Lucknow for a special screening of the film. Mahesh Bhatt and Vidya Balan organised an all-women screening of the film at Lucknow, which was even attended by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav.
The chief minister has loved the emotion that director Mohit Suri has tried to convey. Mahesh Bhatt says, “The response to Hamari Adhuri Kahani has been outstanding. This film is dedicated to all the women of the country and they have received and loved the film with an open arm. That is our victory.”
The film, starring Vidya Balan, Rajkummar Rao and Emraan Hashmi, has been getting mixed reviews from all corners. While critics are not too happy with the storyline of the film, audiences seem to love the film. It may not have opened up to a thunderous box office collection, but it did manage to pick up on word-of-mouth publicity over the weekend and has been holding strong enough in the weekdays too. The film collected close to 20 crores in its first 4 days of business.
