The film seems to gauge even more audience with each passing day!
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s family entertainer Dilwale continued its magical run at the box office as it added another Rs 9.26 crore on Day 7 (Thursday) to take its total collection to Rs 102.65 crore (domestic). The film has now become the 6th 100 crore film of the year after ABCD 2, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
The film has sustained well even after a huge drop on Monday. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Dilwale Fri 21 cr, Sat 20.09 cr, Sun 24 cr, Mon 10.09 cr, Tue 9.42 cr, Wed 8.79 cr, Thu 9.26 cr. Total: 102.65 cr. India biz.”
The film has performed well at the international box office, breaking records in UAE, Australia and UK. The film has broken record in East and South India. This will also be Varun Dhawan’s second 100 crore film this year and Kajol and SRK’s first 100 crore film. It has already become Kriti Sanon’s highest grossing film.
Dilwale may end the second weekend at Rs 120 crore if it continues to maintain the current occupancy and collections. However, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Bajirao Mastani pose a threat to the film. Star Wars has a huge fan base in India too and Bajirao Mastani has been catching up in the day-to-day collections during this week.
