Although the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film started off on a slow note thanks to Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale, but it has successfully managed to buck up in the second week, now making a total of Rs 108.70 crore in 9 days! Yes! Trade analyst Taran Adarsh just tweeted the current figures saying, “#BajiraoMastani crosses ₹ 100 cr mark. [Week 2] Fri 12.25 cr, Sat 10.30 cr. Total: ₹ 108.70 cr. India biz.” This is indeed a big achievement for Team Bajirao!
For all that we know, SRK’s Dilwale posed as a major threat for Bajirao as Dilwale comparatively caters to a lager audience than Bajirao! However, rave reviews by critics and the word of mouth publicity is what we believe has brought Bajirao into the coveted Rs 100 club! The film is reportedly also performing well at the international markets and with no major release till January 8, it is further expected to continue its steady run at the worldwide box office!
Now if the overall report is anything to go by, Bajirao Mastani still lags behind of Diwale with a small margin!
