Reema Kagti’s movie recovers the cost at the box office, and trade pundits are predicting better business in the days to come
Despite the fact that his highly anticipated suspense drama hasn’t released in the festive season, the star is not perturbed and has no reasons to be. His movie is doing pretty well at the box office. The Aamir Khan-Rani Mukerji-Kareena Kapoor starrer Talaash is riding high on the ticket window, and has managed to earn Rs 43 crores in two days.
Reema Kagti’s second directorial venture made on a budget of Rs 40 crores opened to a tremendous response on the first day and did good business the following day. “It released across 2,500 screens in India and 520 screens overseas, and has managed to rake in Rs 14.52 crores on Friday and Rs 16.37 crores on Saturday taking the overall domestic total to Rs 30.89 crores,” said trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who’s quite optimistic about the film doing good business on weekdays as well. “Talaash has done exceedingly well on Saturday in India and overseas. The business jumped across all major markets,” Adarsh tweeted on Sunday.
The Aamir Khan magic seems to have worked among the NRI audiences as well, with the film collecting approximately Rs 12.27 crores in just two days. The movie did business of Rs 4.93 crores (£ 750,936) in the UK, Rs 5.98 crores ($ 1,102,000) in the US, Rs 1.09 crores (A$ 193,267) in the UAE, GCC and Australia, and Rs 27.71 lacs (NZ$ 62,250) in New Zealand, Adarsh tweeted.
