After tasting success with his last film Yamla Pagla Deewana featuring his dad Dharmendra and bro Bobby Deol, the macho star Sunny Deol is all set to play a lover ‘boy’ in this upcoming venture
You don’t exactly associate Sunny Deol with romance. Neither has the action star ever played the mushy, romantic hero on the celluloid in his filmi career. The 56-year-old actor is known for the might of his dhai kilo ka hath and his bloody sagas like Arjun, Ghayal and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. But now, however a little late, the Deol dude will be seen showcasing his romantic side in his forthcoming film I Love NY. And guess what? Sunny will be paired opposite Kangna Ranaut, an actor who is three decades younger to Sunny.
Here’s the poster of I Love NY, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar (a T-series production) and directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. In the poster, we see Sunny in his boxer shorts and a loose, unbuttoned white shirt. His hair ruffled, eyes bleary and the bed sheet wrapped around his hand says volumes about the situation he’s in. (He’s just out of bed that he perhaps shared with Kangy’s character).
Kangna on the other hand, is her usual stylised best, beautiful persona. “After a day he can’t remember!” says the tagline on the poster that can probably give a clue about the situation these two have landed in. Going by this colourful and romantic poster, one can say that both Sunny and Kangy are trying to break the mould and do something different in this production. Our only fear is what if the daring Deol tries hard to play a young, 30-something dude with the heart of a 16-year-old…that would make us cringe with disgust. Tell us honestly if you share the same fear, BollywoodLifers!
