Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan won top honours for Barfi! and Kahaani respectively at the Star Guild Awards 2013 aka Apsara Awards in Mumbai last evening (February 16) at Yash Raj Studios. Barfi! was also adjudged Best Film at the awards organised by the Film and Television Producers Guild of India.Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar won Best Actor and Actress (Drama) for Bade Acche Lagte Hain. The hit TV show also won the Best Ongoing Drama Series award.
Salman Khan hosted the ceremony. It was the first time the 47-year-old anchored an awards function. ”Everybody gets nervous when you do something for the first time, even I am nervous,” he told reporters at the red carpet. ”I just thought… let’s try… how it feels to host (such functions). It is a very difficult thing, you have to remember many things, listen properly to others and not get carried away,” he said.
Salman, looking dapper in black suit, was the highlight of the night. He brought his signature style, camaraderie and flair on stage and won the hearts of the audience and contemporaries.
