The filmmaker will be a part of Bollywood @100, a special show on the History channel

Karan Johar is one of the most articulate filmmakers in B-town today, and therefore one of the most sought after when it comes to hosting an awards function or a television show. The filmmaker has now been roped in to anchor an 11-episode special that celebrates 100 years of Bollywood.

The shoot for the show was to start today, but Karan requested the makers to push it forward by about 12 days owing to the ill health of his mother Hiroo Johar. KJo will shoot five episodes on the untold stories behind films, music and actors. Since Karan has been associated with the film industry for many years, he will also bring his own experiences into the entire format. In the other six episodes Karan will play host to actors from various generations who will come together for a free-wheeling chat on cinema.

This one will be shot at the iconic Liberty Theatre and is slated to go on the air by the end of April. There will also be an online campaign asking moviegoers to vote for who they think are the greatest directors, male and female actors of all time.
