The popular lyricist has teamed up with composer Shantanu Moitra for a project that will help young people showcase their unique talent
Swanand Kirkire and Shantanu Moitra have given us some wonderful music together. And now the duo has joined hands with stand-up comedian Vikram Sathye for a unique association that will help build the careers of those who want to do something off the beaten track. The project, Bawraas will be a one-of-its-kind platform where talented individuals can pursue non-conventional careers. They will be provided with resources, funds and mentoring so that they can eventually become self sufficient.
“This is our concept to help people by going on stage. We thought about this when we met Krushnaa Patil (India’s youngest woman to climb Mount Everest) who was looking to gather funds to climb the K2. All three of us then thought of creating such a platform to help such talented individuals in their career,” said Kirkire in an interview.
The project will start with shows based on theatre, plays, art and musical performances. It will be along the themes of laughter, lyrics and music and will be hosted by talented artistes from various streams. While Sathaye will interact with the audiences through his comic gags, Moitra and Kirkire will present their compositions at the musical events.
We at BollywoodLife congratulate the trio for launching this platform that holds immense potential to propel the careers of those who want to make a difference with their unique talent.
