The veteran actor, extremely pleased with the superstar’s move to let his leading ladies take first place in the credit list, now wants SRK to play the second lead in a women-centric movie
Shahrukh Khan has always been a ladies’ man, and we mean that in the best way. The actor has repeatedly said that he enjoys the company of his gal pals more. So it was not at all surprising when the superstar committed that henceforth he would make sure that the credit list of his movies had the leading ladies’ names before his name. Shabana Azmi, who has been a strong supporter of women’s rights, and a feminist herself, liked SRK’s gesture so much that she immediately took to Twitter to congratulate the actor. Not only that, Shabana also requested SRK to play the second lead in a women oriented film.
“SRK glad u r giving heroines credit above your title pls also do few heroine oriented films in which u play 2ndry role 2 make it more viable,” Shabana tweeted. Well, though we think it’s a great idea, it seems a bit unlikely that SRK, or any other Bollywood hero, would do that.
However, the point to be noted here is, many of Shahrukh’s films – be it Pardes, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – have had women essaying important characters.
And we hope Shahrukh doesn’t miss out on the request considering the star is off Twitter for now! We wish he shows his magnanimity and fulfills Mrs Azmi’s wishes. We sure wouldn’t mind seeing him in one. What say BollywoodLifers?
