SRK is not really Michael Jackson when it comes to dancing, but it’s always fun to watch when he shakes a leg in typical King Khan-style
Shahrukh Khan’s open arm movement and his short run to embrace the heroine are definitely more famous than his dance moves. Watching him groove with Katrina Kaif in Ishq shava from Yash Chopra‘s Jab Tak Hai Jaan made us realise that from 1992, when he made his debut, to this day, the quintessential SRK moves haven’t really changed. The only thing that’s different about the numbers is that his heroines are getting slimmer and younger!
Shahrukh has done loads of dancing through the years, but he has this unusual quality of making everything look trademark SRK – whether it’s the Daler Mehendi-ish hand gestures in Chammak challo from RA.One or the toilet flush move in Shava shava from Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham! In fact, Shahrukh has played dancer/performer in Dil To Pagal Hai and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, where he showed off his boogieing skills. But not the one to train or rehearse rigorously before a song shoot, SRK always has relied more on his sharp mind and indefatigable energy to come out looking super fun in his dance numbers.
Here’s looking at how SRK has evolved as a dancer, in keeping with the King Khan ishtyle!
