The Tanu Weds Manu babe, who recently signed up for Yash Raj Films’ Aurangzeb and Aanand L Rai’s Raanjhanaa looks for the filmmaker’s involvement
It has been a while since the R Madhavan-Kangna Ranaut starrer Tanu Weds Manu released. Which means that it has been ages since Swara Bhaskar, who played the role of Kangna’s best friend, was seen on the big screen. Swara won an award for her portrayal of Payal in the film, if you remember. She was recently in the news for signing two big ticket films, and particularly for her replacing Aditi Rao Hyderi in Raanjhanaa. While Swara feigns ignorance regarding replacing anybody, she is certainly clued in about the directors that she is going to work with, even at the cost of saying ‘no’ to many projects that have been coming her way.
Talking to us about recent developments Swara said, “For me the difference is not between a debut and established directors; it’s between directors who know what they want and are clear about it and directors who don’t. I’ve been very lucky and have always had the privilege of working with directors who have a lot of clarity and know exactly what and how much they want. I like to believe I am a director’s actor and that films are ultimately a director’s medium and I like directors who are involved in the performance of the actors.”
We appreciate her attitude and are eager to see her shenanigans in both Aurangzeb and Raanjhanaa!
