SRK turns 49 today…

He has been called the king of romance and can make many hearts melt. From Kajol to Madhuri Dixit Nene, Deepika Padukone to Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shah Rukh Khan has romanced almost every leading Bollywood heroine. Yet there are few who our badshah has not yet spread his arms for in his trademark move on screen!

Vidya Balan:

While she found her real life love in SRK aka Sidharth Roy Kapoor, her reel life love for SRK aka Shah Rukh Khan has still remained incomplete. Many a time, SRK and Vidya have spoken about how they would want to work together in a Bollywood film someday. But it’s been over a decade and the desire to act together on screen has not really met its fulfillment. If the small teaser of their chemistry at an awards night is something to go by, a film with the duo should be crackling!

Asin:

Asin was very close to sharing screen space with SRK when she was being considered to play the female lead in Chennai Express. However, Deepika bagged the role. Given her smouldering chemistry with all the other biggies- be it Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar or Ajay Devgn, it’s about time we see Asin paired opposite King Khan too!

Sonakshi Sinha:

Sonakshi is the ultimate desi girl. Earthy and rural, Shotgun Junior’s attempts at playing the rustic woman has worked wonders for her. Taking a cue from her Dabangg avatar, it would be nice to see SRK and Sona romance each other in a serene village background! Now that SRK is already dodging urban roles to earthier roles like in Raees, who knows, this might just come true very soon!

Bipasha Basu:

Bipasha and Shah Rukh might be poles apart, but could compliment each other beautifully. For everyone who’s forgotten, let us remind you: Bipasha and SRK had done a small dance sequence for the Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke number from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. We’d like to see more of that magic!

Parineeti Chopra:

While Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor may not quite fit the bill, Parineeti Chopra from the Gen-Y breed of actresses could well hold her own in a role with Shah Rukh. After having tasted success with the young guns of Bollywood, it is about time that Parineeti does a big blockbuster film with a superstar. And who better than SRK to begin with Right?

The ace superstar will make a comeback to films next year…

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turned 41 yesterday. She obliged her fans and media by cutting a cake along with them. It seems to be a delicious chocolate cake. The superstar has always been known to oblige his fans outside Jalsa. The Bachchan bahu was spotted in a black suit. She was looking gorgeous and her happiness was evident from the glow on her face.

Deepika Padukone was spotted at the Siddhivinayak Temple recently. She was seen praying to the lord and asking for more and more success in her career. The ace actress has been paired opposite all the leading men of Bollywood including Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Imran Khan, Arjun Kapoor and others.

She has however never worked with Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan. We hope this recent trip to the Siddhivinayak temple will get her work with these other actors as well. Also she was recently spotted at an event to launch the cover of a popular magazine. She was very happy and it was evident by the constant smile on her face. She was happy that her films are doing well.

The Kill Dil team and the Tevar actor were present on the Bigg Boss sets…

Salman Khan played hosts to some surprise guests in this week’s Weekend ka Vaar episode. After ages, we saw Salman sharing screen with Govinda. The two actors who have previously acted in Partner caught up on stage and impressed everyone with their trademark mad antics!

The entire Kill Dil team including Parineeti Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar along with Govinda visited Salman Khan on the sets of Bigg Boss 8 to promote their film Kill Dil. While Govinda stayed back and spent some quality time with good friend Salman, the trio went inside to meet and greet the contestants. Kill Dil releases on November 14.

Also Arjun Kapoor came on stage and promoted his upcoming film Tevar on Bigg Boss 8. Salman and Arjun share a special bond as it was because of Salman that Arjun came in Bollywood. Arjun lost a lot of weight and has become a big star in B-Town and it’s all because of Salman.

The King of Bollywood turns 49 years old today

The crème de la crème of Bollywood turned up for Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday bash last night.

We caught a glimpse of the crazy party through a few selfies.

SRK posed for a selfie with the star of Punjabi songs Mika Singh and his Don co-star Chunky Pandey. Mika went around clicking selfies with his friends from the party. Ranveer Singh sported his new hat for the birthday bash as he was not yet allowed to reveal his look in the upcoming flick Bajirao Mastani.

Varun Dhawan who came dressed casually for the party also joined in for the selfies with Mika, Ranveer, and Hrithik Roshan. The house was a complete party zone and went all night. SRK brought his birthday among friends and colleagues from the industry.

Director AR Murugadoss himself tweeted the box office collection of his latest film which has got cash registers jingling not only in India but overseas too…

Its hattrick for talented filmmaker AR Murugadoss as his latest directorial venture Kaththi has raked in over Rs 100 crore worldwide. After Thuppakki and its Hindi remake Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty, this is his third film which has hit century at the box office. Kaththi which stars Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead hit the screens on October 22 and stormed the box office down South. In fact, it has become the fastest Tamil film to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark at the ticket windows. The action thriller took just 12 days to achieve this feat. Impressive, hai na?

Murugadoss and his film’s music director Anirudh Ravichander took to Twitter to announce the box office success of Kaththi. The Ghajini director tweeted, “KATHTHI hits 100 in 12 days, still going strong Total 100.7cr India: 80.5 Overseas: 20.2 Thanks to all audience & media.” Ravichander also wrote on the popular social networking site,”Very special day!#Kaththihitsfastest100cr ! Total theatrical collection-100.7cr (65.1 TN,20.2 Overseas, 15.4 Others).”

The leading lady of the film also posted on Twitter, “Super super special day. Extremely happy for team #Kaththi. 100 crores and counting. Thank you to all of you who made it happen.”

Romantic drama Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), a phenomenon that perhaps defies explanation, will complete 1000 weeks next month. Shah Rukh Khan, who played the loveable Raj in the film, says he is planning to celebrate the occasion in a big way.

“Yes, it is completing 1000 weeks and it’s a great feeling,” Shah Rukh told reporters. He was speaking on the sidelines of his birthday celebration.

Released on October 20, 1995, DDLJ was Aditya Chopra’s directorial debut and it struck the right chord with the audience who lapped up Raj (SRK) and Simran’s (Kajol) love saga that traveled two continents.

“Aditya Chopra was planning something. We will take 15 minutes of unedited footage of the film. We will also watch the film together. There is lot of affection attached to the film.

“It’s a special moment for sure. It’s the second longest (running) film. I think the first was a Chinese film. Yes, we will have a celebration,” said the 49-year-old.

SRK, who has played negative roles in the past, says he would love to do Dhoom 4 if approached.

Here is our exclusive interview with Minissha, who recently got eliminated from Bigg Boss 8

Minissha Lamba became the fifth contestant to bid adieu to Bigg Boss 8. We caught up with the actress post her eviction. And in a candid chat, she talked about her journey inside the Bigg Boss house and more. Excerpts from the conversation…

You were considered as one of the strong contenders this season. In fact many were expecting you to be in the finals. But you got eliminated way too early. What do you think went wrong?

I was competing with people, who were extremely loved by the masses. Maybe I couldn’t do that. And that resulted in my elimination.

So how would you describe your experience inside the Bigg Boss house?

It was great. I learnt a lot of things about myself. It was a learning experience for me. I fell into tough situations, but I didn’t lose myself into them and played my part well.

Now that you are out of the house, who do you think will emerge as the winner of Bigg Boss 8?

I think Pritam is doing very well. That’s because he is someone who is not only very liked by the audiences but also by the people in the house. Having said that. Upen and Diandra are someone, who will also turn out to be really strong contenders this season.

Who do you think is being fake?

I can’t really say.

You had a tiff with Gautam…

There was not any tiff between us. Yes, there were differences of opinion at some point or another. But that keeps happening inside that house. But I don’t think there was a problem between us as such.

Arya Babbar openly confessed on national television that you were in a relationship with him. What do you have to say about that?

I was shocked by his statement. And that wasn’t true at all. We both worked together in a Punjabi film. There was nothing more than that.

Before entering the house, you and Arya had a word on phone. But there is a clause in the contract, which doesn’t allow you to do that…

I think Salman Khan clarified everything about that. He didn’t need to, but he did. So I don’t think I need to re-live all of that.

So what are you planning to do next?

I’ll catch up with my friends who are waiting to know all the gossip inside the Bigg Boss house (laughs).

Actor Prashanth who has not had a film releases in the last three years will now be seen in the Tamil remake of Akshay Kumar’s hit Hindi film Special 26. His actor-producer-director father, Thiagarajan, who has acquired the south remake rights to Queen, has now also acquired the south remake rights of Special 26.The movie will be remade in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada and Thiagarajan will be directing all four versions himself.

Prashanth will play the lead while Prakash Raj will play Manoj Bajpayee’s role. Anupam Kher’s role will be played by Sathyaraj. Actress Thulasi Nair is also said to be part of the film along with Nasser.

It will be interesting to see how the film turns out in Tamil and how Prashanth is able to carry off Akshay’s role.

It’s a known story that the Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai actors are dating each other

Well Karan Tacker and Krystle D’ Souza have been great friends since their first show together on Star Plus. When this relationship went from friendship to love no one really knows.

We recently told you that Karan and Krystle were spotted in Goa vacationing together, while they still insist otherwise. Well rumour has it that it is not Krystle who wants to hide the relationship but Karan.

Apparently the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7  contestant doesn’t want to be tied down just yet. A source informs “Krystle and Karan are dating but he doesn’t want to commit yet. In fact, Krystle has often been seen crying over Karan and his nonchalant behaviour.”

The Kill Dil stars rocked the 6th Indian Ink International Tattoo Convention in Mumbai

With just 10 days left before the release of Kill Dil, the promotions for the film are on full swing as the cast and crew are leaving no stone unturned to publicise their flick. With foot taping tunes and never before seen Govinda-Ranveer Singh jodi, Kill Dil has garnered enough hype around it. Now to add to that frenzy, the lead trio – Ranveer, Parineeti and Ali Zafar will be seen flaunting their Kill Dil tattoos in upcoming promotional events.

At the recently concluded 6th Indian Ink International Tattoo Convention, the Kill Dil trio had got themselves inked. It is common for stars to sport tattoos as a part of their look in a film. but it is the first time when actors have been inked for promoting a film. Amidst all the fan frenzy, Ranveer, Pari and Ali arrived at the convention riding bullet bikes.

In the convention of world’s 70 best tattoo artist, the Kill Dil stars picked three artists to create temporary designs for promotion of the film. While Kill Dil has a very rustic feel to it thanks to the bikes, leather jackets and guns, we believe that the tattoos would be perfect to promote the flick.

It is not a new practice to promote a film through exciting merchandise. T-shirts, caps, mugs, key-chains are some conventional merchandise often used for film promotions. But Ranveer Singh took things to the next level for Kill Dil.

The actor was recently spotted wearing a super cool Kill Dil vest and he teamed it up with Kill Dil sporty sneakers. Undoubtedly, the pink and green sneakers stood out in the entire outfit. We don’t think that there is any other metro-sexual actor in the industry like Ranveer who can pull off a pair of pink and green sneakers with so much swag!

Sidharth Malhotra who recently started shooting for his upcoming film Brothers also has another assignment in hand. The actor is on a house-hunt as he is willing to move out of his sea-facing property in Bandra.

Sidharth moved from Delhi to Mumbai and debuted with Student of the Year. After the super success of the movie Sidharth decided to move into a spacious and sea-facing flat in Bandra. But the bachelor pad is a rented property and now that Sidharth has successfully carved his position in the film industry, he has decided to move out of the rented place and buy his own house.

A source close to the actor suggests that he has been on a look out post the success of Ek Villain. Besides preparing for his role in Brothers, Sid had some free time on him to meet up with realtors.

Amitabh Bachchan found himself in a controversy when a US-based Sikh Human Rights group lodged a criminal complaint against Bachchan in Australia for instigating and abetting 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Big B was summoned for allegedly raising a slogan which instigated violence against the Sikh community in 1984, after Indira Gandhi’s Sikh bodyguards assassinated her.

And this whole controversy has now took a shocking turn as a prime witness in 1984 anti-Sikh riots said that everyone who had been watching Doordarshan saw how Amitabh Bachchan provoked the rioters.

“I wonder why no one in India lodged case against Amitabh Bachchan for provoking killing of Sikhs. I watched live relay on Doordarshan and saw Amitabh Bachchan raising his arm and shouting the slogan, ‘khun ka badla khun sae laengae‘ (Blood for blood) two times.” said Jagdish Kaur, prime witness in 1984 anti- Sikh riots while talking to a leading daily.

“I am not concerned that a case has been registered against him in Australia but all I want to know why nobody noticed Amitabh’s provoking statement in India,” Kaur asked. She, who had seen her husband and son being murdered in cold blood by a mob inside her house in Palam Colony (West Delhi) said that ever since she saw Amitabh spewing venom in full public glare, she never watched any of his movies or programmes on TV. “Any mention of him or his work reminds me of his role in the 1984 riots,” she added.

Kareena Kapoor Khan has killed it! Featuring on the latest cover of a popular glossy, the begum of Bollywood has secured her position as the ultimate fashionista of B-Town!

First things first, a big shout out to Bebo’s stylist, Nitasha Gaurav for doing a fantastic job with the cover shoot! We are drooling over the royal fabric which the Amit Aggarwal gown is made of. Plus, the sheer striped bodysuit (we think) has added so much oomph to the cover! The dramatic eye make-up adds a tinge of goth and the top bun to round off the look makes the attire regal!

We also got a peek at an inside picture of the shoot wherein Bebo is wearing a Tom Ford outfit teamed with an ornate head-gear. Though our personal favourite is the picture on the cover the one with Bebo in the Tom Ford dress is not less glamourous either. In other pictures Kareena can be seen wearing a Bihu Mohapatra and a Khushali Kumar outfit. We absolutely love her in the Khushali Kumar backless gown.
