India, the land of ‘shahstriya sangeet’(classical music), now sways to the tunes of new age rap music and how. Gone are the days when romantic songs used to top the chartbusters; raunchy and vociferous rap music aka item numbers sell today. Rap music genre, introduced in India by Baba Sehgal and popularised by Yo Yo Honey Singh, Hard Kaur and Badshah, has progressed greatly. These rappers have not only conquered YouTube through their albums but have also made a mark in Bollywood through peppy numbers like Angreji Beat, Lungi Dance, High Heels etc.

Yo Yo Honey Singh

Hirdesh Singh, better known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, has come a long way from being a Bhangra (Punjabi Folk) music producer to becoming one of the highest-paid music producers in Bollwood. He first got noticed when the song Angreji Beat from his album International Villager got featured in film Cocktail. His popularity reached the pinnacle in 2013 when he began producing songs for big-budget Bollywood films such as Lungi Dance for Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chennai Express and Party All Night for Akshay Kumar’s Boss.

Badshah

Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, popularly known as Badshah started his career with Honey Singh with Mafia Mundeer, a band formed by Honey Singh. After producing some famous songs together like Begaani Naar, Get up Jawaani,etc. the band split in 2012. During Yo Yo Honey Singh’s eighteen month long iffy absence from public light (which he later attributed to bipolar disorder) Badshah took over the space with popular Bollywood soundtracks like Abhi Toh Party Shuru Huyi hai, Saturday-Saturday, Selfie Le Le re, Kar Gayi Chull,etc.

Raftaar

Like Badshah, Dilin Nair (famous as Raftaar) too started his career with Mafia Mundeer. After the group split he joined Punjabi band RDB. Apart from his work with RDB and his solo album WTF – Witness The Future, he gained popularity through his Bollywood stints – Dhup Chik in Fugly, Whistle Baja and The Pappi Song in Heropanti,etc.

With the emergence of new rappers, it remains to be seen whether Yo Yo manages to stay around. Vote and tell us who is your favourite.

Kangana’s lawyer is hell bent on proving that Hrithik is lying. Here check out the latest….

Ever since Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut have slapped legal notices against each other, the former has been constantly arguing how he was never in a relationship with Kangana but it was his imposter who was fooling around with the actress. He even mentioned the same in his legal statement. In fact, lately we even got to see a couple of their leaked email exchanges, proving how it was an one sided affair from Kangana’s end. However, Kangana’s lawyer refuses to believe this and is hell bent on exposing the mystery behind this ‘imposter’…

As mentioned in TOI, Siddique in interaction with a few journalists on Sunday(April 24) argued, “He(Hrithik) belatedly goes to the police after seven months and files an informal complaint, and does not intimate my client or her sister despite their insistence to file a joint complaint.He then lies to the police as well as the public that he gained knowledge of the imposter from many people, including his fans and people from the industry. Hrithik didn’t name Kangana because he knows she would forthwith provide all details to the police. He then abandons his informal complaint filed in December 2014 and this February sends my client a defamation notice for her ‘silly ex’ comment… Hrithik doesn’t reply to my befitting reply and counter notice of March 1, but proceeds to revive his old complaint through an FIR on March 5 after being informed that her (Kangana’s) mails were hacked, names Kangana and her sister as witnesses and puts media pressure to record their statements without them being given a copy of the FIR.”

Speaking of which, he further adds, “The question is why is Hrithik not even interested in finding out what mails and stuff the ‘imposter’ sent Kangana? In law, while an FIR copy must be given free to the complainant, it is not legally obligatory for the police to hand a copy to a witness until a chargesheet is filed, said legal experts. “I have applied for a copy of the FIR from the court now, since the police are not giving me one despite my request as my entitlement in law.”

The ongoing battle between Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut is truly spiraling out of control. With each parties dishing out dirt on each other publicly, looks like it will not die out soon. Kangana is all set to record her first statement with the police on April 30. There will be a new twist to this tale then.

But after looking at the leaked emails sent by Kangana Ranaut to Hrithik Roshan, it was pretty clear that the actress  was into the star since the beginning while Hrithik gave her a cold shoulder. On what appears to be as a one-sided infatuation from Kangana’s side, we just got hold of a detailed forensic report which proves that Hrithik did not communicate with Kangana in any form.

The report states that after a detailed scanning of all devices used by Hrithik and also looking through his network and LAN connection, there were no calls made or emails, messages sent to Kangana by Hrithik during the course of last few years.  The evidence shows that all the while, Kangana has been communicating with the imposter and not Hrithik. The ball now is in Kangana’s court. Finally the wait is over but look at this shocking new twist in the series!

It was quite a bright Monday morning and already the premiere episode of Game of Thrones has put us in a state of shock! While the fifth season’s ending was a heart wrenching one courtesy Jon Snow’s death over allegations of treason, a hope that he may be revived in the sixth season was what kept the fans’ hearts going. However, this first episode of season six shows no sign of Jon’s revival and has instead blown a new horn with respect to the character, Melisandre.

We all know about the black magic, Red Woman who has been quite a seductress. Be it her red hair that has been the point of discussion or her sorcery that couldn’t have been more scary. Melisandre’s sensual nature has always put her on the driver’s seat be it around Stannis or her seduction towards Jon Snow. That itself is a scary point to begin with as she she knows the ways to attain what she wants. Her magical powers weren’t a surprise as we witnessed it in many seasons. However, this one particular truth about her that has been revealed in the sixth season might change your perception of the seductress!

So the end of season five was on a bad note wherein Jon Snow was killed by his brothers (of the Night’s Watch). As some of the people who had faith in Jon, they mourned the death of their commander. That’s when Davos made this striking revelation to his compatriots about the things nobody knew about Melisandre. “You haven’t seen her do what I’ve seen her do,” he said. And then the season showcased her Old Gray Mare appearance (which is her true form) that shocked the bejesus out of us! The Red Woman’s glamor power has actually allowed her to create illusions and preserve her true form!

The appointment of Sultan hero to represent India at the Rio Olympic Games 2016 has not gone unchallenged by the sports fraternity!

The Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) decision to appoint Bollywood’s superstar Salman Khan as the ambassador to represent the country in the upcoming Rio Olympic Games (2016) has got mixed response from masses. While ace athletes like Mary Kom state that it would be good for sports that a personality like Salman Khan who enjoys immense star power supports sports, its a great thing. But this has not gone down well with other sports persons. 2012 London Olympics bronze medalist Yogeshwar Dutt made his displeasure pretty obvious through his tweets. Legendary athlete Milkha Singh joined him and SLAMMED IOA for their decision.

He stated that instead of a Bollywood celeb, a sportsperson should be given this honour. In his debate he also asked if Bollywood would make a sportsperson their brand ambassador for their international event? Though he said that he has nothing personal about Salman, he would like if the association replaces him with a more deserving candidate.

While the opinion of the fraternity stands DIVIDED over Salman’s appointment, the association maintains that they are happy that Salman has volunteered to support sports. They also maintained that there was no monetary exchange involved in this appointment and that they cherish the Sultan star’s efforts to work for sports.

We spoke to three of them….

Bollywood has seen many clashes but nothing to the magnitude of Sultan and Raees. Two huge superstars who are both ruling at the box office, were supposed to clash. Obviously, buzz was doing the rounds of someone bowing down from the race and now we hear, it would be Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees. Reports suggest the film has now been postponed to January 26 next year. So we thought of asking trade experts if it’s a beneficial decision or not and this is what they said.

Trade expert, Akshay Rathi feels it certainly is a good decision. “When stakes are so high and there are cordial equations between Shah Rukh and Salman or more importantly, SRK and Aditya Chopra, it’s a gracious gesture to allow each other their space. It will benefit both the film and give them maximum potential in sharing screen space.” But he still felt Eid was a good time for both. “Eid is particularly an interesting period for both the film. If you notice, both of them play Muslim characters in their films. The kind of action that there is in Raees, it would have been a phenomenal date for the film had they decided to not move. Having said that, the cinema infrastructure in India to accommodate two films which are as mammoth as these with superstars who are equally big, will chip some business off each other. In ideal case scenario for optimum business it is good that both come on different national holidays. But honestly, even if both the film come together, they will do what they deserve to do.”

But Trade Analyst, AMul Mohan feels Fan’s box office collection has much to do with the decision. “They might be looking for a good date to release the film. It’s a big film. Especially what happened with Fan now, I can understand the producers or actor Shah Rukh Khan might be a bit apprehensive. There might be deeper issues or situations too. There was a strong buzz in the first week of Fan itself that the film will get pushed. And last week it emerged very clearly that 2017 is a very possible scenario for them to go out and release the film. We don’t know for sure unless the Excel announces something. One thing is a fact that Raees is definitely not releasing with Sultan because the idea is to not come out with a film like Sultan. We all know how brilliant Salman is doing right now. It’s unlikely that it will release this year because all the prominent dates have already been locked.

In fact, Mohan feels it will not be a good decision to clash anyway. “It’s my personal opinion that if Raees comes with Sultan, I think it is suicide. We don’t have those many cinemas. We don’t have 8000 screens that two big hero films on 4000 screens each could make a killing. And then it is a YRF film that they will be competing with. We know Excel is a prominent banner as well, but the point is YRF is bullish in these kind of matter and they have to be because it’s a big film for them too. So it will be unfair. We are not China which has 10000 screens. It has more influence of Hollywood films than Bollywood or local films and it can all survive well. You just saw what happened to The Jungle Book and Fan. They are competing in the same screens and places. So when people have choice to go watch Shah Rukh Khan which has great word of mouth and reviews which at the same time is competing with a movie which has already proven, people love that film even though it is not in our native language. People still go and patronize that. So India doesn’t have the liberty to release two big films like that,” says Mohan.

He is also of the opinion that had Fan done better at the box office, things would have been the other way round. “For instance if Fan had done well to around 100-200 crores hypothetically, Sultan would have been in a fix. It could have just scared Sultan off. But given the position Fan has got itself into, you are on a backfoot. I don’t know if it’s a wise decision but I feel it is a right decision to make right now. When a SRK film doesn’t even cross 80 cr properly, you know there is a problem. It’s a very simple psychological assessment of the situation.”

Another Trade expert Amod Mehra was pretty blunt about Raees’ credibility. He said, “Any film which is announced and keeps on delaying loses credibility more and more. Credibility diminishes. It never improves. The more they push it, it will be more bad for them especially after Fan not working. It will give wrong signals to fans of Shah Rukh Khan, ki Shah Rukh dar gaya and as it is said in Sholay, jo dar gaya woh mar gaya. Raees is about underworld, maybe a bit of Robinhood. Now they are trying to making him that. Actually, he is not a robinhood. He is a bootlegger. When it’s Eid or Diwali or Christams, you want to see happy films. You don’t want to see underworld or don. Sultan will be a family film. It will have lighter moments. It will take a bigger opening, so what’s the point of clashing then. See what happened to Dilwale. Bajirao Mastani didn’t get squashed.”

The first Hindi trailer of The Avengers is out, and we finally got to know how Varun will sound like…

After Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Om Puri and Nana Patekar provided the voices for the Hindi version of The Jungle Book, now it’s Varun Dhawan who went inside the dubbing studio to make Captain America speak Hindi in Captain America: Civil War.

Captain America: Civil War is one of the biggest releases of summer, if not the biggest! The film, dubbed as The Avengers 2.5, brings up most of the Avengers back in the film, except for Thor and Hulk (we think…we don’t know if these two have secret cameos in the film!). Though the makers are insisting that this is more of a Captain America story than Avengers! Like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, even this film is about clashes between two heroes, namely Iron Man and Cap over various issues, right from whether to put control over superheroes, to whether to save Bucky.

After the Hindi version of The Jungle Book worked well with the audience thanks to the apt voice casting, it’s understandable why Disney want to cast Varun Dhawan for Captain America. After all, the Dilwale star is quite popular with the youngsters.

The first Hindi trailer was out, and we finally got to know how Varun will sound like (and he does sound like he is sleepy!). However, even though there are other important characters in the film like Tony Stark, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and Ant Man, not to forget Spider-Man, we are surprised they only roped one Bollywood star to voice a superhero.

Here’s our choices for whom they should have chosen for the other superheroes in the film, to make it more appealing:

Shah Rukh Khan for Tony Stark aka Iron Man

Tony Stark is cool, witty, charming and and yet grounded (considering he doesn’t have any superpower per se…), qualities you will also find in wittiest Khan of the industry! Also Shah Rukh Khan and Robert Downey Jr are nearly the same age, so even that matches as well! Also after seeing Varun Dhawan revering SRK in Dilwale, it would be fun to see them sparring for once here! Shah Rukh Khan has one voiced for Mr Incredible for the animation flick, The Incredibles!

Priyanka Chopra for Black Widow

Yeah, Indian men can’t seem to get over their obsession with Sunny!

After the two Karnataka ministers were caught watching sexually explicit content (read porn) inside an Assembly meeting, now Hyderabad government officials are facing a similar problem with their website!

Yeah! As per a report by Mumbai Mirror, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Cooperation’s (GHMC) official website on Monday displayed nothing but nude pictures of Sunny. Whoa, and all the other link pages too were showing Sunny’s explicit content. Th technical team frantically tried to pull out these images, but no avail! This reportedly left the officials RED FACED.

Strangely enough, no complaint has been lodged by the civic body to police with regard to the tampering or hacking of the site which could have led to this embarrassing glitch. Predictably, the GHMC officer told the tabloid that they had nothing to do with this mess and as the maintenance of the site lies with Centre for Good Governance (CGG) and they are responsible for the issue!

Whatever the case is, it is now clear that neither Indian government, its officials or masses can get over their obsession with the adult film star and Bollywood actress Sunny Leone. After consistently topping the most Googled celebrity list over many years now, this phenomenon is hardly surprising for Sunny. What do you think?

Emraan Hashmi has had a pretty rough patch with three of his films: Mr X, Raja Natwarlal and Hamari Adhuri Kahaani BOMBING big time on the box office. This movie, based on the life and times of the controversial cricketing personality Azharuddin , might just be a game changer. What do you think? The movie releases on May 13.

Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda starrer is for those who take their cinema very seriously. The movie is a biopic, based on the real life events. It is both intriguing and heart wrenching. Man, their trailer was enough to set us panting for more. Alia, Shahid, Kareena and Diljit are all set to give us an unforgettable treat this summer. Their film is all set to come out on June 12 and it takes on a realistic, intense view of the drug abuse situation rampant in the hinterlands of Punjab. The director of this dark flick is Abhishek Chaubey. Need we say more?

What to watch out for: Shahid in a never-before-seen-avatar. His matted body, tattooed body and crazy dialogue delivery have impressed us already. Alia in Bihari avatar is a TREAT to watch. This also marks the debut of the Punjabi superstar and singer Diljit Donsanjh!

As much a delightful actress that she is, Waluscha too has had her fan moments!

Recently BollywoodLife met with the stunning Waluscha De Sousa, who made her debut in Shah Rukh Khan‘s Fan and needless to say, she was one helluva person! The actress played the role of the superstar’s wife in the film which has garnered her quite a lot of attention. Now the Waluscha that we met has left quite a lasting impact on us. We all know how Salman Khan’s appointment as the Olympics Goodwill ambassador has got everyone talking. Especially the sports community where known personalities like wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, Milkha Singh, who have lashed out at the superstar’s appointment stating, “I want to make it clear that I am not against Salman Khan, but the decision of the IOA is wrong and the government should intervene in the matter. This is for the first time I am seeing a Bollywood hero being made goodwill ambassador for Olympics. I want to ask has Bollywood ever made any sportsperson an ambassador for any of their mega event?” Obviously, we don’t expect this argument to end anytime soon where Salman’s father Salim Khan too further hit back the sports team stating, “ Salman khan may not have competed but is an A level swimmer cyclist and weight lifter. Sportsmen are performing because of sports lovers like us. However, turns out Katrina Kaif has no f**ks to give over this issue and we don’t mind Hi-5-ing her on that. Yes!

At the wrap up bash of Baar Baar Dekho which was held last night, Ms Kaif was asked to comment over this new controversy surrounding Salman and she smartly quipped saying, “Salman ko leke controversy hai woh naya cheez hai kya?” Haha! Actually that’s true right? It’s like Salman is controversy’s favourite child where as soon as one ends, he finds himself in another. Indeed, Katrina knows him so well. In fact, had she supported Salman with an elaborate explanation, we would have wondered if she is really saying it or just saying for the sake of the news.

Read on to know what Pratyusha spoke to Rahul few hours before her suicide!

Pratyusha Banerjee’s live in boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has been granted an anticipatory bail by the HC while the actress’s parents and lawyer have alleged that she was forced to taker her life because of Rahul Raj Singh. 

In his statement to the court, Special Public Persecutor Nilesh Pawaskar said, “Rahul has been impressing girls by telling them his mother is an MLA, he owns a casino in Sri Lanka and around 150 acres of land at his native place. Pratyusha, along with several other girls, was a victim of his grand statements”

Pawaksar also submitted the DVD which contained last conversation between Pratyusha and Rahul and said that Rahul should be booked by the court for more than just abatement. The last conversation which took place on April 1 at 3.43 pm (not long before Pratyusha hung herself) lasted for 201 seconds. The content for the same as published by Mid Day is as follows:

Pratyusha: You cheater, tumne mujhe cheat kiya hai, mujhe mere maa baap se alag kar diya, ab dekho main kya karne ja rahi hoon (You cheater, you cheated on me, you separated me from my parents, now see what I do) 

Rahul: What happened? I will talk to you once I reach home, I am on the way; till I reach, don’t do anything.

It can be noted that Rahul called her back after Pratyusha’s repeated attempts to call him failed.

The couple is fast topping the Awww-dorable charts!

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover are fast becoming our most beloved Bollywood couple. They, with their funny, cute and adorable antics, have won their fans’ hearts. They are madly in love and they do what they know the best when together: Monkeying around! Yeah, man it looks like the two are made for each other and with just four days to their wedding, they are at their romantic best!

So, turns out Bipasha will have a traditional Bengali wedding and will don a beautiful red Sabyasachi creation on her special day. Her stylist Shyamli Arora revealed to leading tabloid that though they would be colour coordinated for the wedding, the two have no idea about each other’s clothes. Now, that’s super cool, right?

Though Bipasha will wed her heartthrob in a traditional Bengali style, she just loves the concept of Christian White Weddings which is why she did a photo shoot keeping the same theme in mind. Arora told the tabloid, ““White weddings are a lot of fun so we decided to do a quick 45-minute shoot with Prasad Naik to go with the invites.”

Bipasha met Karan on the sets of Alone and they became really good pals post that. Soon friendship brewed into love and the two are inseparable since then.

Kate Hudson Celebrated Birthday in Wedding Veil and Fishnet tights

Actress Kate Hudson celebrated turning 37 over the weekend with a “hot mess” wedding-themed bash along with celebrities like Demi Moore, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Naomi Campbell.The actress didn’t hold back for her big day, rocking a veil, barely-there lace crop top and fishnet tights, reports etonline.com.

On her birthday, she posted a picture with her pals in a meditation circle, writing, “Birthday meditation went just as planned: Intentions set, tears shed, laughter achieved and then some, and enough love in one circle to last many lifetimes.”

The Almost Famous star documented the soiree on Snapchat and Instagram, crimping her hair for some added throwback flair. Kate’s actual birthday took place on April 19 and she’s had several celebrations since.

The fete was a joint birthday party for Hudson, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, and writer Derek Blasberg.

So Salman Khan’s appointment as the Olympics Goodwill ambassador is creating a huge fuss considering this is the first time a Bollywood actor has been picked over a sports icon. While Salman’s father Salim Khan defends his son saying, “Salman khan may not have competed but is an A level swimmer cyclist and weight lifter. Sportsmen are performing because of sports lovers like us.” But the sports community is failing to come in terms with Salman as the Goodwill ambassador. But personalities like Milkha Singh lashed out at the actor saying, “I want to make it clear that I am not against Salman Khan, but the decision of the IOA is wrong and the government should intervene in the matter. I think there is no shortage of real sportsmen in this country and people have done some massive things in this country. I am for the country just as well as I am for Olympic sports.” Gautam said this at the launch of Sansui’s new television series held recently.

However, in contrary to the above, Abhinav Bindra tweeted in support of Salman saying, “In their pursuit towards excellence. Congratulations on being appointed ambassador of the Indian Olympic Team! @BeingSalmanKhan. An absolute honour which comes with great responsibility. To which Khan replied saying, “Will do my best.”

Too cute, these two!

Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have always been in the news, be it for their dosti or dushmani. But anyone who has closely followed their jhagda or dosti would know that there has always been a certain dignity with which they handled their equation. It is definitely not easy for the two powerful Khans to be ruling the industry and, at the same time, maintain an equation with each other. But they have accomplished it, and with what panache!

In an interview to Bombay Times, Salman was quizzed as to why he does not own a sports team and his response is so heart warming that it clearly sets example of how a superstar should be. He says, “I don’t see myself fighting with Delhi, Pune or KKR.No doubt, it’s a wonderful way to promote sports, but I want to be there (pointing to the top). So, when it becomes Salman’s team versus Preity’s team or Shah Rukh’s team, it no longer remains a sporting thing, it gets into the area of gossip. Also, the `responsible press’ will take away focus from the match, and I don’t want to give anybody that kind of mileage. I want to do something for the overall development of sports.”

Also it warmed the cockles of our hearts when Shah Rukh kept his promise to Salman and pushed the release date of his much awaited film, Raees, only for Bhai’s benefit! Now if this is not true friendship, what is? Also, it is important to know that both the Khans have reprimanded their own fans on every occasion that they have tried to deride or insult the other. Now, it is amazing how they are setting examples for all the younger stars. This dosti wala trend started by SRK and Salman is something we really, really adore about these two. Right?

Somehow Simar is still unaffected by Chandramani’s spell.

In Sasural Simar Ka, drama is reaching high levels as Chandramani (Vindhya Tiwari) is torturing Simar (Dipika Kakkar) with her Chandrakatha. Simar has revealed about Chandramani to Sujata and Prerna (Mansi Srivastava). But Chandramani has decided to punish Prerna for helping Simar. She too has fallen under her spell. In Chandrakatha, Chanda got Prerna as a servant for Mataji (Jayati Bhatia) and told her not to let Prerna leave the house. She also confirmed with Mataji if Prem was ever married before. Mataji plainly denied it. Chanda was seen convincing Prem (Dheeraj Dhoopar) in the precap that Simar was a fraud who had duped half the city, but Prem kept getting an inkling that he knew Simar somehow.

The latest promo is even more shocking, as Chanda’s wedding with Prem is shown in it. Looks like Simar won’t be able to stop Prem from marrying Chanda and even the family members will support the marriage.

An insider told a web portal, “Chandramani will give Simar an option of saving Mataji’s life by helping her get married to Prem, who is her lifeline. While the audience will hope that Simar would save her marriage, she will not be able to do anything except cry over her loss. Now that she will lose her husband, it will be interesting to see what she would do next!”

The actor opens up about being appointed as the Indian Goodwill ambassador for the Rio Olympics 2016 and his plans for the grand spectacle…

Salman Khan was appointed India’s Goodwill Ambassador for the Rio Olympic Games 2016 on Sunday and since then a lot of people have questioned this decision. While many have criticised this move, a few have welcomed it. However, this does not bother the superstar as he continues to work towards his goal to help popularise the Olympic Games as well as to get some recognition to other sports apart from cricket. In an interview with Bombay Times, the actor opens about his appointment and his responsibilities as the Goodwill ambassador.

Talking about why India needs an ambassador for Olympics, Salman suggests that the games aren’t followed in India as much as it should and the Olympic Heroes aren’t rewarded and so he wants to inspire people to watch the games. As he revealed to a leading daily, “Olympics are not that well covered and watched in India like in other countries.So, when somebody comes to support the players, it makes them feel good and work harder. They become more inspired and dedicated. Having someone like me helps in creating a buzz about the Olympics.”

We have to totally agree with the point that he has made. People in our country follow Cricket, Football and Motor Sports, but forget Olympics. At this point, people are still confused about how Salman will promote the sports and the players. However, Salman has the answers to all your questions, as he reveals, “I want to charge up the players and see how they are progressing. If we can increase our medal tally compared to last year, it would be great. When that happens, the infrastructure, diet, coaching and other facilities get better. Pehle (ambassador) nahi lekar aaye thay toh theek hai, par ab jab kisi ko lekar aaye hain toh the players should be encouraged. Since I can only participate in the Olympics if walking were a sport, isiliye main woh hoon jo gaadi ko piche se dhakka de sakta hai. I will also try to go to Rio in the initial phase of the Olympics.”

But is there a need for a Bollywood celeb to get some attention. Salman mentions, “Everyone’s watching cricket, and it has lots of stars. We need to make stars in other sports. Today , people watch tennis because of Leander Paes and Sania Mirza. Similarly , Saina Nehwal and Dipika Pallikal are stars in their own right. Football will take over very soon because the next generation is hooked to football. Our fault is that we blame cricket, while we need to watch more sports on TV compared to the rubbish we watch otherwise. Once we do that, TRPs will go up, and players will get endorsements and they will become stars. While flipping through channels, stop at a badminton match, and try to know who is playing. You want hockey to return to its old glory, watch a game ­ be it in the stadium or on TV. We (Bollywood celebs) just give that initial impetus.”
