The Gangs of Wasseypur director was quite aghast with a blog-post about the similarity between the introductory tune of Lootera and that of a Hollywood film

The makers of the Ranveer Singh-Sonakshi Sinha starrer were quite happy to showcase the trailer of their love story recently. But little did they know their happiness was short-lived? Producer Anurag is quite agitated with the plagiarism charges levelled against the movie’s music and says that Lootera is completely original.

It so happened that an entertainment blog was shut down allegedly after Kashyap responded strongly to a post about the resemblance between the teaser tune of Lootera and a Hollywood film One Day. The composer of this Ekta Kapoor and Anurag production, Amit Trivedi known for his hatke and original compositions in films like Dev D, Wake Up Sid, No One Killed Jessica and Kai Po Che! among many others was also quite taken aback after he heard of the plagiarism news.

However, while talking to a newspaper, director Vikramaditya clarified his stand by stating, “The notes in the teaser are a small piece of the song Shikayatein composed by Amit. I feel Amit has never in his life plagiarized, copied or stolen music from anyone.”

Well, let’s wait for Lootera’s album to come out before we make our judgement. But wethinks Anurag should be a little more tolerant to criticism, considering he has always been an opinionated and critical person himself!

In any case, whether copied or not, we are sure Amit Trivedi won’t disappoint us!
