Filmmaker Prakash Jha, who is shooting his film Satyagraha, says he will be using Mahatama Gandhi’s song Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram in the film, which will be featured on Amitabh Bachchan, who plays a role inspired by Anna Hazare.

Revealing more about the song, a source close to the team further added, “Prakashji is using the iconic Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram song in Satyagraha. It will be featured on Amitabh Bachchan who plays a role that has been inspired by Anna Hazare.”

Director Prakash Jha confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, we have the song Raghupati Raghav in the film. It comes at a very crucial juncture in Satyagraha in the life of the character that Amitabh Bachchan is playing.”

“Anna is a Gandhian and Raghupati Raghav was one of the most favourite bhajans (devotional songs) of Mahatma Gandhi who even sang it to his followers during the famous Dandi March,” says a source close to Satyagraha production team.

“Amitabh Bachchan’s character is inspired by Gandhi’s philosophies and it is only fitting that Raghupati Raghav primarily features Bachchan along with other cast members of Satyagraha,” he added.

Satyagraha features Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Rao and Manoj Bajpayee, among others.

Fukrey, produced by Farhan Akhtar, looks like a fun film and just a tad similar to Kai Po Che!

When it comes to the first look of a film, it’s very important that the makers get it right because that decides how people will perceive the movie.

With Fukrey, which hosts a whole new starcast, the teaser just couldn’t have got better. A lively animation playing out to a naughty Hindi rap shows what kind of film is in the offing. The movie, which is about four young friends in Delhi who are absolute wastrels in life, stars Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadda. And although we couldn’t miss the poster’s similarity to that of Kai Po Che, we can go out on a limb and vouch that Fukrey will be quite different, and it’s only the poster design where the two meet.

Interestingly, it was Farhan Akhtar who was supposed to produce Kai Po Che in the first place, but again we think it’s a mere coincidence. So keep watching this space to find out if there is more to Fukrey than the quirky animation and slick music!

The Student Of The Year stars make their ad debut with a commercial for the Middle East audience

They looked bright, chirpy and absolutely adorable in their debut film – Karan Johar’s candy floss production Student Of The Year. Varun Dhawan – son of filmmaker David Dhawan, and Alia Bhatt – the spunky daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, made for a delicious onscreen pair. And now the cute duo has broken into the world of advertisement with a funky commercial for the Middle East audience.

After striking an instant connect with the youth and having garnered tremendous fan following with their debut film, the two have got many offers to endorse brands. Recently they shot for their first international advertisement. The product happens to be a juice brand from Nestle (Nestle Fruita Vitals). The commercial was shot in Bangkok and it is directed by Punit Malhotra of I Hate Luv Storys.

One in which she looked totally wacky, with larger-than-face heart-shaped glares being held in place by her manicured fingers. Hatke, no?

The Baadshah doesn’t like to talk about his personal life anymore because he feels his statements are twisted by people

On the occasion of International Women’s Day when Shahrukh Khan was asked how his wife Gauri Khan has affected his life, he said: “I now refrain from talking about my personal life so I would not be able to tell you, but it’s been a great life.”

“I have been married for 21 years and have beautiful children and like any normal family she keeps it all together. So, it’s absolutely wonderful. If I say anything more than this, then I feel that I talk a lot about my personal life and then people further discuss it in a wrong way and that hurts me because they are my family,” added the 47-year-old.

Shahrukh and Gauri have two children – son Aryan and daughter Suhana.

The actor’s ‘boy-next-door’ charm has appealed to Disney UTV bosses

Actor Amit Sadh, praised for his recent portrayal in Kai Po Che!, has signed a film with Disney UTV. The project will soon go on the floors. The production banner is impressed with Amit’s work and dedication and foresees a bright future for him.

“Seeing Kai Po Che!, one could only wonder at the effortless portrayal of one of the most difficult characters of the movie. However, only if you have seen his dedication on the sets, would you know how it looks so effortless,” Manish Hariprasad, Creative Director, Studios, Disney UTV, said in a statement.

Hariprasad further said, “We know that this is a talent which will go very far. We’ve started discussing scripts with Amit and will decide on something that both of us agree on. If grapevine is to be believed, the film will be in the romantic comedy space.”

“We cannot say much about the film right now, but can tell you that it is something that will be a step forward in taking his ‘boy-next-door’ appeal to an even wider section of the society,” added Hariprasad, who was a part of the small screen before he ventured into films.

The Taare Zameen Par actor turns 17 today!

Born on 9 March 1996, Darsheel Safary is a well known child actor in bollywood. His much-appreciated portrayal of a dyslexic kid in Aamir Khan’s highly acclaimed film Taare Zamme Par(2007) brought Darsheel into the limelight. It was writer and creative director of TZP Amol Gupte who found Darsheel while looking for a right kid for the movie. Darsheel’s commendable performance in TZP bagged him numerous awards and recognition.

After Taare Zammen Par the young actor appeared in several films like Bumm Bumm Bole (2010), Zokomonn (2011). He has also acted in Mir Nair’s film Midnight’s Children based on Salman Rushdie’s famous novel of the same name. Recently he also appeared in Colour’s channel much talked about dance reality show Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa (season 5).

Director Punit Malhotra knows how to create enough buzz around his films. So, did he ask the team of his forthcoming release to pose this way and then circulate the picture on a microblogging site?

Looks like both Karan Johar and director Punit Malhotra just can’t hold their horses. After announcing the shoot of their forthcoming movie Gori Tere Pyaar Mein – starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles – there has been a constant look-at-me tweets pouring both from the producer as well as the director. Punit could not contain his excitement about the project and had earlier tweeted, “Our IMRAN-KAREENA starrer starts today…Gori Tere Pyaar Mein!!! Directed by @punitdmalhotra.”

After that tweet, we have been flooded with more visuals. In this funny one, we see the cast and crew of the film – Mahesh, Punit and Remo D’Souza – adopt the famous monkey pose. “Mahesh, Remo and me… Waiting for the correct light to begin filming,” tweeted the over-zealous director.

But hey Punit, we want to see more of Imran and Kareena from the sets and not just you and your histrionics!

The actor talks about his déjà vu moment

Actor Ram Kapoor, who is playing the role of a strict father in Mere Dad Ki Maruti,  says his character reminds him of his real-life father.

MDKM, releasing under Y-Films banner, will see Ram playing father to actor Saqib Saleem. Ram said he went through déjà vu while shooting for this film.

In the film, Saqib steals his father’s car to impress a girl, and in the process, he loses the car. Ram says the scene reminded him of his younger days.

“My dad’s first car was a Maruti. I actually stole the car once and had an accident. It was just after a few months it had come. The movie has actually brought back my teenage memories,” Ram said in a statement.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti will release March 15.

Sajid Khan was a funny man even before he turned director, and humour comes easily to him. And it’s evident from the couple of movies he has made too – comedies. So it’s really no surprise to see him bond big time over laughs with the crew of his latest film Himmatwala.

In this video,  on day 33, you see the cast including Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah being directed by Sajid in a few key scenes at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. What’s hilarious though is the scene in which Sajid is directing Paresh Rawal. The two cannot keep a straight face, as the lines they utter are improvised upon and become exceedingly hilarious with each take!

Also precious is the scene on day 34 of the shoot where Sajid notices a little boy with a rather interesting face, and decides he wants to focus on him. But the kid is not laughing easily, and so Sajid tries to make him smile! Not tough for a funnyman, right? Well check it out yourself!

After unveiling the theatrical trailer, the makers of the action thriller present a new romantic song

The new song Loot jawaan from Vipul Shah’s upcoming action flick Commando is unique, unlike the customary Bollywood romantic numbers. The Punjabi folk fusion is quite hummable. But what’s more surprising is Vidyut Jamwal’s dancing skills, which is quite a revelation. The hunk actor shows that he’s as good with dancing as he is with action.

The track has been mastered with new rock beats and some rap thrown in. What’s more interesting though is its video. It shows the lead pair – Vidyut Jamwal and Pooja Chopra – at their glamorous best, dancing to the foot tapping number Loot jawaan. Pooja looks hot and gets jiggy with the six-pack abs actor, who looks like he for shot the song after pumping some iron in the gym!

Overall, the track is well produced and the hatke composition by Mannan Shaah is commendable. Check out and tell us what you feel.

When we met Huma’s brother Saqib Saleem, who is all excited about his forthcoming release Mere Dad Ki Maruti, the young actor refuted his sister’s claims. Read on to find out what it is

Saqib Saleem is full of energy. The 24-year-old dude is excited about his forthcoming film Mere Dad Ki Maruti with Ram Kapoor. He is also happy with the way his sister Huma Qureshi’s career has shaped up in Bollywood. But Huma maintains that she is surprised to the core to have bagged so much appreciation. “I never thought I would get such tremendous response. I was this plump geek while growing up and never thought that I would become a Bollywood star one day,” said Huma in an interview to us.

But Huma’s brother begs to differ with her tall claims. “I disagree with her. You know what? Huma always entertained the idea of becoming a Bollywood diva. Even during school days and even in college, Huma never missed a single opportunity of participating in plays and dance competition. She was convinced in her head that she would want to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry,” maintained Saqib.

The Son Of Sardaar babe recently shot for a new PeTA ad to help dogs

Sonakshi Sinha sure has a heart of gold. The Dabangg babe has been an ardent supporter of PeTA India, so it’s no surprise that when she learned about the plight of dogs, she agreed to shoot a one-minute video urging everyone to adopt animals and have them sterilised.

Sonakshi speaks from her own experience; she had adopted a beloved dog Nancy with whom she spent 14 years before the dog passed away. Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter encouraged her fans to experience the joy that comes from saving a cat or a dog from the streets and offering them a shelter and a loving home.

Sonakshi said, “All around the world, homeless dogs and cats are injured in fights or hit by cars or abused by cruel people. Some will be taken in by an animal shelter but many of these animals will simply languish in cages because there aren’t good homes for them. The single most important thing that we can do to save animals from all their sufferings or their overpopulation causes is to sterilise them.”

Over the years, several celebrities including Maneka Gandhi, Hema Malini, John Abraham, Shilpa Shetty and Celina Jaitly have joined forces with PeTA by writing about their experiences or shooting ad campaigns and lent their star power to the noble cause. Keep it up, Sona!

In the last episode, Lucky Singh spots the two lovebirds hugging each other on a moonlit terrace. Now what?

Rocky Singh’s (Tapasvi Mehta) life has taken certain filmi twists in the past few days in Parvarrish. He loved a girl called Rinku (Anit Kaur), who loved someone else. This ‘someone else’ turned out to be the bad boy who was bashed up by our macho man Rocky. So invariably, Rinku fell in love with the caring, sensitive and stable headed son of the Ahluwalias.

Now, to consummate this teenaged love affair, an innocent hug seemed necessary to the makers. So in the last episode, the teenagers met on a moonlit terrace to share those famous sweet nothings. And as it usually happens, one thing leds to another and the two ended up hugging each other. Awww! But how can a happy moment remain just that in a daily soap. Right?

So, the inevitable happens and Lucky Ahluwalia (Vivek Mushran), who was returning from office, spots the two in an embrace. And…the episode ends. Sigh.

What will happen next, on Monday? Will these teenaged lovers be separated in this serial? We have our doubts. And that’s because in the last couple of days, we have seen the parents talk about how it’s necessary to think like teenagers while dealing with teenaged kids. And that makes us hope that the super-understanding parents will help the kids figure out their tangled web of emotions. But will they really do that? Time to wait and watch!

“I am not Vidya Balan and I don’t think right now I can pull an entire film on my shoulders. Vidya Balan did The Dirty Picture and Kahaani, which was completely on her shoulders. In future, I will definitely do such films, but not right now.”
