Aman (Anuj Sachdeva) is engaged to Akansha (Heena Parmar), but later realises that his happiness lies with Neha (Smrita Kalra). He tells his mother Gayathri about the nature of his feelings and that he wants to call off his engagement.

Gayathri is miffed with her son for going against her wish and choosing the wrong life partner. Neha, on the other hand, is totally clueless of Aman’s decision. She is in love with her childhood friend but has made peace with the fact that he now belonged to her younger sister. The upcoming track in the show will showcase Aman convincing his mother to accept Neha. Gayathri will tell him that she is ready if he can persuade his grandmother.

Aman will talk to his grandmother, who will agree to accept Neha provided Gayathri can mould her to be the ideal bahu. As things fall in place, Aman decides to tell Neha how he feels for her, before which he will try to come clean to Akansha. But instead Neha hears his confession. Will Neha accept Aman’s proposal or will she refuse Aman for her sister?

Karishma will be seen going all out in the latest task on Bigg Boss 8

Apart from all the tamashaa between Ali Quli Mirza and Sonali Raut, viewers will also get to witness something interesting in tonight’s episode of Bigg Boss 8.

As a part of the recent task, a phone booth is put out in the garden area. Karishma and Praneet while passing by the area are distracted as the phone starts ringing. Both of them run towards the phone and an excited Karishma picks up the receiver only to find herself in the middle of a task. Karishma then is asked to be on the phone until said otherwise by Mr. X, who is speaking from the other end of the phone. Karishma is then given different tasks during the day and if she failed, she will run the risk of getting nominated for next week directly. An alert Karishma gets on an “all performing mode”.

From making Sonali Raut and Sushant Divgikar have a weird tasting drink to bleaching Praneet Bhatt’s eyebrows, Karishma will go all out for this task.

Love is a tough battle and Veera will do just about anything win this one

In the recent episode of Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera, we saw how Badelv’s (Vishal Vashishtha) friends try to frame Ranvijay (Shivin Narang). They stack illegal alcohol barrels in Ranvijay’s storage and call the cops. Rajveer (Vivek Dahiya) arrests Ranvi and promises to investigate the matter and get him out of jail soon.

In the upcoming episode, Rajveer figures out that the barrels all belong to Baldev and hence arrests him. When Veera (Digangana Suryavanshi) learns about this, she moves mountains to prove her boyfriend innocent. She collects the proofs and submits it in front of the cops and her brother. Considering Rajveer is in love with Veera, wethinks he will try his best to keep Baldev behind bars.

Will Veera manage to get Baldev out of jail? Or will she be pressurised to marry Rajveer in exchange for Baldev’s freedom. Well stay tuned to this space to find out more.

From inappropriate behavior to playing a cunning game, here’s an account of what happened in the Bigg Boss 8 house today, for all BollywoodLifers who couldn’t catch the show…

Severe punishment for Ali:

After his so called ‘mazak’ of putting his hand in side Sonali Raut’s blanket and touching her thigh, Ali Quli got a lot of grief from all family members. Ali retaliated to Sonali’s accusations saying that she too had bumped into him on purpose at times. Obviously, this infuriated Ms Raut further; can’t say we blame her… not a very smart move Ali. You should have just stopped at ‘sorry’. Though Sonali didn’t pull a Tanna by stretching the issue, Bigg Boss removed Ali from captaincy, banned him from ever becoming house captain and nominated him for next week, as a punishment. Rightly so!

Upen’s outburst:

Well after all the drama, the housemates were bound to discuss the matter for long. In the process a few more things about Ali came out like he had told Pritam, a while ago, that Upen Patel was ‘having fun’ with Diandra Soares. The usually quite Patel lashed out at everybody for creating rumours about him and warned them that he would not take such crap from anyone anymore. Good for you Mister!

The Phone-booth task:

For today’s task, a phone-booth was placed in the lawn and one housemate would enter it at a time. This housemate would have to get things done from other housemates and incase of failure, he would be nominated for next week’s eliminations. Also the housemate could not tell others about the conversation. The housemate on duty, would not be allowed to step out of the booth until permitted and would have to put someone else to take his place before exiting.

Karishma Tanna- the first receiver of Bigg Boss’ call:

Karishma was the first one to answer the call. She was asked to get Praneet Issar to bleach his eyebrows, make Sonali and Sushant Divgikar drink weird energy drinks and get the housemates to give up half their rations. Since she was the first one to go in, nobody knew what the exact task was. Tanna used this to her favour and got everything done saying that they would get eliminated if they did not perform. After her success in all three tasks, she chose Puneet Issar to be trapped in the booth, since his failure would lead to him being nominated for elimination.

Puneet’s refusal to perform:

While Karishma conveniently used housemates’ ignorance to her advantage, poor Puneet Issar did not have this luxury. He had to get Diandra and Karishma to give away all of their make-up. Since Karishma knew that not doing so will put Puneet in danger, not only did she refuse to give away her own make-up, she even got Diandra to not let go of hers. A visibly upset Puneet called Karishma a selfish person and decided to quit the task.

The day came to an end with Puneet arguing with Bigg Boss over the task. But will he really quit and put himself in danger? Let’s just wait and watch!

The stars of Happy Ending got their groove on at the music launch…

Saif Ali Khan, Ileana D’Cruz, Govinda and Kalki Koechlin were seen singing, dancing and having fun at the music launch of Happy Ending!

With their party number G Phaad topping the music charts the makers of Happy Ending decided to give the audience a taste of the entire album. We are impressed by the balance of fun, quirky, romantic and party numbers in the movie’s album.

At the launch Saif and Ileana were seen sharing a light moment as they danced with each other to their romantic song from the film. Kalki and Ileana were simply smitten by Govinda’s charm and who can blame them for that, right? Saif and Govinda’s camaraderie at the launch was also quite a delight to watch.

But the highlight of the event was when Govinda took centre stage to show off some of his killer moves!

We cannot wait to watch this exciting spoof on romantic comedies!

The actress is going all out to prepare for her next

Priyanka Chopra is undergoing language training in a very specific dialect of Marathi spoken during the time of the ascension of the Peshwas, for her role in the upcoming Bajirao Mastani.

The ambitious Sanjay Leela Bhansali period drama is going for full-on authenticity and the director has instructed PC, who plays Peshwa Baji Rao I’s first wife Kashibai to get the dialect and accent perfectly right.

Now, PC has played Marathi mulgi before (Kaminey and Agneepath come to mind), but this is going to be a whole different ballgame, swear sources. The actress has been training with a linguistic expert daily on the sets to work on her 17th century-specific lines in the film.

The language spoken during that period in history was far more nuanced and therefore more complicated than the standard Marathi known and spoken in the state today. Prior to shooting, Priyanka even took a 15-day coaching course to prepeare herself for the role.

The actors are going to pick three artists from tattoo convention to create temporary designs for promotions of their upcoming film

Actors usually get inked because their character in a film demands it. Now, Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra are going a step ahead and will sport tattoos exclusively for the promotions of their film, Kill Dil.

Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor had got himself branded an ‘awara’ — tattooing the word on his wrist to promote Besharam in which he played a vagabond.

In fact, the actors will be attending the Tattoo Convention 2014 to be held in Mumbai where 70 of the world’s best tattoo artists will showcase their skills. The three will then choose the best artists, who will then design a tattoo for each of the actors, inspired by the film, which the actors will flaunt throughout the promotions of the action film.

Says a source, “The film sees the actors in a very rustic avatar, bikes, leather jackets et al. Getting a tattoo was in tandem with that look.”

Meanwhile, Ranveer, Pari and Ali have been excitedly discussing various designs for their tattoos and are looking forward to getting inked.

As per the early estimates, HNY managed to collect Rs 12.5 crore on day 6 (Tuesday)

Farah Khan’s big budget film Happy New Year is now inching towards Rs 200 crore club. We say co because the musical extravaganza starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah has raked in approximately Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office within six days. After minting Rs 108.86 crore in the opening weekend, collections went down on Monday as the film grossed Rs 15 crore. On Tuesday, the collections went down further as HNY earned around Rs 13 crore. And though official figures for Wednesday haven’t been announced, early estimates suggest that the film collected around Rs 12.5 crore.

So the total domestic box office collection of Shah Rukh and Deepika starrer now stands at Rs 150 crore (approximately). If HNY continues to do decent business at the ticket windows we are pretty sure it will soon reach the Rs 200 crore mark. Interestingly,  Farah’s directorial venture has done well overseas too. In fact, it has become one of the biggest openers in international markets which is indeed impressive, hai na?

The National Award winning actress was caught for her involvement in prostitution and was sent to a rehabilitation centre thereafter

In a relief for a national award-winning Telugu actor Shweta Basu Prasad, who was sent to a rescue home after a prostitution racket allegedly involving her was busted, the sessions court has allowed her to live with her mother.

The court allowed the revision plea filed by the her mother challenging a lower court’s order that had on September 30 directed that she should continue to stay at the rescue home for six months for ‘rehabilitation’.

The sessions court called for a fresh report from the rescue home which stated that it had no objection to her release, defence lawyer Pradeep Kumar said. Following which, the court agreed to hand over her custody to her mother.

Shweta’s mother had, in her application, contended that her daughter had been framed and keeping her at the rescue home was a violation of her fundamental rights.

The police had raided a five-star hotel here in the first week of September and claimed to have busted a prostitution racket.

According to the police, the actor told the investigators that she turned to flesh trade as no new films were coming her way and she was broke. An assistant director in Telugu film industry, who allegedly acted as her agent, was arrested.

Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor are on a movie date spree. The two have gone out not once, twice but several times to watch movies at suburban theaters. However, a source close to the two tell us that there is definitely more than just love of films that’s common between the two.

Apparently Arjun and Sonakshi have hit it off really well from the start. The Bajirao Mastani actress was attending the Abu Dhabi Film Festival

Priyanka Chopra was recently in Abu Dhabi attending the film festival there. She also performed at the event.

PC was seen wearing a Pankaj and Nidhi outfit on the red carpet. She topped the look with Nitya Arora at Minerali earrings. The powder blue column dress with peach and white applique on it looked ethereal on Priyanka. The actress finished out her look with a top knot.

Barring the gold earrings that looked a bit over-the-top with the dress, we loved the outfit on PC for its fit and length. A subtler pair of earrings would have worked great with the dress. The top knot looked great on her!

After a bout of conjunctivitis, the actress is currently shooting for Bajirao Mastani and will soon begin shooting for Madamji.

Star Plus’ popular soap completed two years and the cast and crew had a grand celebration on the sets of the show

It has been two years since Ek Veer Ki Ardaas… Veera went on air.

The first leg of the show which showcased Ranvijay and Veera as kids was the most loved portion of the show. Harshita Ojha and Bhavesh Balchandani did a fabulous job and are remembered till date.

Shivin Narang and Digangana Suryavanshi came and took over the mantle to a whole new level as the adult Ranvi and Veera. Last evening, the makers threw a grand celebration for the whole cast and crew along with Harshita and Bhavesh. Digangana said, “It feels so great to be a part of such a great show. While the show has completed two years, I have been on Veera for a little more than a year and the feeling is great. We have become like one big family here.”

Producer Yash Patnaik said, “It has been a very satisfying journey. What makes it more special is the fact that with Veera we tried to tell a unique story which is very different from the tried and tested formulas. It was risky to make a daily soap on a brother-sister relationship. But it has paid off.”

On being asked what he thinks worked in favour of the show he said, “We knew from the beginning that Veera’s main attraction has to be the content. The competition in that slot was with star studded shows on other three channels. We had two little kids and their mother to carry the show. We kept the treatment real, the sets authentic and performances natural. That’s how the show looked different from others and connected.”

Shivin, who was a little late, came in on his weekly off to be part of the celebrations. Harshita and Bhavesh didn’t spare the poor lad as they smashed cake on his face and posed for the shutterbugs. Shivin said, “The show has completed two years, but people still love the kids and their work more than us. We are yet to match Harshita and Bhavesh’s performances on screen. I never thought I could pull off a role like Ranvijay. My parents wanted me to be a part of this show and I am so glad I did it.”

Gautham Menon’s untitled project with Ajith finally gets a name

When superstar Ajith Kumar joined hands with ace director Gautham Menon for a film, fans were bound to get really excited. And the inclusion of top Kollywood heroines like Trisha and Anushka Shetty was icing to the cake, as the film attained extreme popularity even before the promotions of the film. For months, the untitled project was hailed as Thala 55 as it is Thala Ajith’s 55th film.

After a long wait, we just got to know that the makers have zeroed in on a title. Gautham Menon’s directorial starring Ajith-Trisha-Anushka has been titled as Yennai Arindhaal. “Yesterday, director Gautham Menon, the film’s producer Iswarya and Ajith sir held joint consultations on what the title of the film should be. After discussions, they decided to name the film Yennai Arindhaal” said a source close to the film.

“Ajith sir was clear about the fact that the title must be one that is apt for the story and not a fancy one. Taking into consideration this point, director Gautham Menon proposed the title which Ajith wholeheartedly approved” added the source.

So now finally Thala 55 has name. Thala 55, make way to Yennai Arindhaal.

The model turned actress wants to be perceived as more than just hot…

Model-turned-actress Lisa Haydon, who does not wish to be tagged as “hot”, says her performance in Queen has helped people to pay attention to her acting acumen. 

“Before Queen, people perceived me (just) as a model. I worked very hard to prove myself as a good actor. I needed the right opportunity, and now I feel people have started taking me seriously as an actress and have started paying attention to my talent,” Lisa said here.

She feels there has been an image change for her after Queen.

“I don’t want to be termed as ‘hot’. It was getting offensive after a point. Who wants to be hot,” she asked while breaking into guffaws.

However, Lisa feels that after Queen, in which she played Vijayalakshmi – an independent, fun-loving and modern girl who befriends Kangana Ranaut’s character – she is “getting stuck with the ‘bohemian free-spirit‘ image”.

She admits it “is so much better than hot”, but is clear that she doesn’t want to get “stuck with any image”.

The actress’s new film is The Shaukeens.

Talking about the movie and her character, she said: “In my opinion, my The Shaukeens character Ahana is not hot. Vijayalakshmi (from Queen) is hotter than Ahana though she does not do anything to be hot – she burps, she snores, and has an ‘I don’t give a damn’ attitude which appeals to people. Ahana, on the other hand, is a very innocent and naive girl.”

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, The Shaukeens features Annu Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Piyush Mishra.

“The three men have never met a girl like her and they think she is a streetsmart girl because she is very open about everything. The men think she likes them, but for her, they are paternal figures,” Lisa said.

The swearing in ceremony will be held this evening

The swearing in of Devendra Fadnavis, 44, as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra will be held at Wankhede Stadium this evening in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Prominent celebs like Aamir Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan have got invites for attending the swearing in ceremony. However, let us tell you that Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh might not be able to make it to the event as they are out of town.

The actor feels that working with one’s real life partner on screen is perfect…

TV actor Hiten Tejwani is joining the cast of Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, which stars his wife and actress Gauri Pradhan Tejwani. He is “excited” to work with his real life partner in the show.

Hiten and Gauri were the leading pair in Kutumb, which went on air in 2001, and after many years, they are sharing the screen space once again.

“Any role for an actor is exciting, but acting with your (one’s) wife is even more exciting. We’ll be spending more time on the sets now. Earlier, we used to shoot on different locations, now we’ll get to spend more time together,” Hiten told a source.

When asked how the experience of Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi will be different from Kutumb, the actor said: “Well, the characters are different. Also, when we were shooting Kutumb, we weren’t married. But now we’re married.”

“When you are performing opposite to your wife, the comfort level is very high from the beginning. With other co-actors, it takes a little while to reach a certain comfort level.”

The couple tied the knot in 2004 and welcomed twins, son Neevan and daughter Katya, in 2009.

Gauri had previously mentioned that she would like to work with her husband when she joined “Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi”, and now that her wish has come true, she is pretty excited too.

Although Hiten and Gauri’s five-year-old twins aren’t allowed to watch TV, the actor is willing to bend the rules for this show.

On being asked how his children would react on seeing them together on the screen, he said: “They will be happy to see us together. Actually, they are not allowed to watch TV as of now, but we will let them see a scene or two where we are together.”

Although Hiten’s schedule is busy with Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, the actor is willing to take up new projects.

“I’ll be busy with Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, but let’s see what happens. Talks are going on. If something really nice turns up and I have time, then I’ll do it,” he said.

BollywoodLife got in touch with Sneha Wagh to know about her strong bond with the cast and crew of her show Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera produced by Yash Patnaik, how the show changed her career, her future plans and the co-star she gets along with. Read excerpts from the interview…

You have completed two years with the show, how does that make you feel?

It feels like a journey. I am a constant character in the show. It feels great and I am very happy with the way things have moulded.

How has Veera changed your career?

It has defiantly changed my career. The first year, I am a mother of two siblings and in the second year I played the mother of two grown up children; it has definitely made a huge difference in my career. People have started recognising me as a good actor more than anything else. They really respect me as an actor.

What is so special about the character of Ratan?

It’s a very beautiful character, which is very special to me. For the first time I have seen such character like Ratan in this television industry. Ratan is one of the most complicated characters. She is neither too positive nor negative. My character is always on a thin line.

Over the years, how have people responded to your characters?

Fans love me a lot. People love my character and Ratan has become synonymous to me. After being in the industry for so long, people have finally started recognising me.

Three best scenes which you loved doing (from the show).

All of the three are from the initially stage of Veera. The first crucial scene when Ratan learns that Veera is her husband’s child. Second one was when Veera comes to my house after her mother’s death. Lastly, there’s a scene when Ratan doesn’t feed Veera in spite of seeing the baby cry bitterly. When Sampooran orders her to feed the child, she takes a knife and threatens to kill herself. I can never forget those sequences; I really enjoyed it.

Among the huge star cast of the show, who are your favourite co-stars?

I like Bhavesh who played Ranvi as a child and Shivin Narang. Both the Ranvijays are close to my heart; and of course Shagfutaji – she is like a pillar in both my character and in my real life.

What is the best compliment you received for your role in Veera?

A senior family friend once told me that she connected with me earlier as I played Jyoti and now as Ratan as well. I think that was one of the best compliments I have ever received.

What was your parents’ reaction on Veera?

I used to feel embarrassed to watch Veera with my family members as my mother and siblings would often cry while watching the show. I usually avoid watching Veera with them. My mom once complimented saying that I have become very matured.

Were you expecting your character to click so much with the audiences?

I was a little scared as my character was always on a thin line. I am really surprised that people have given me a positive response so far.

How similar or different are you from your reel life character?

I am a completely different person than my character. I am a very bubbly and chubby girl who likes to do masti all the time and off screen I am very naughty. Ratan is a very serious character and am nothing like her. I have learnt stability from my character.
