There seems to be immense buzz about this film in the film industry….

Emraan Hashmi-Rajkummar Rao-Vidya Balan starrer Hamari Adhuri Kahani makers kept a special screening for a selected few from the Bollywood industry to gaze as to how the movie has come out. Sources claim that the screening ended in a thundering applause. Well if that’s true, Mohit Suri must be a happy man. Hai na?

The film’s music has been doing great on the music charts and that’s something that was not happening with Emraan Hasmi and Vidya Balan’s previous releases. With that you can gaze as to how much there is a craze among the audience for watching the film. This special screening was attended by Gulshan Devaiah, Rahul Roy, Vidya Balan, Mohit Suri, Prosenjit Chatterjee,  Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Vishesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Richa Chadda, Rahul Bhatt, Sreeshanth, etc.

Drama, drama, drama…and an engagement…that’s how the show rolled today!

Nach Baliye 7 is keeping its date with drama really well in this recent episode as well, If Rashmi Desai and Nandish Sandhu continued with their saga of difficult times, Aishwarya Saluja and Rohit Nag revealed about the actress’ tuberculosis days. But it was Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna who took away all the limelight. With lots of drama and aww moments later, the couple were engaged. However, it couldn’t put a dent on an eclectic performance by Amruta Khanvilkar and Himmanshoo Malhotra!

While the Snow White tell-all by the couple was just okay, Upen’s special way of proposing to his girlfriend Karishma was definitely something people will always remember. The whole audience was hand in gloves in this mission, including his family who spoke to them via a video chat. It definitely was perfect!

Among all the performances, Amruta Khanvilkar and Himmanshoo Malhotra just made the episode so worthwhile to watch. Their play-act-dance was breath taking especially Amruta who stole the show as a perfect Manjullika. Although we would have liked a bit more of dancing in the act but what the heck! It was just perfect and won the couple a perfect 30 as well.

Arpit Ranka and Nidhi Ranka tried an UV act replete with Asura and Maa Durga which could have been better but it wasn’t. The performance won them 25 only which turned out to be the lowest and similar to Karishma and Upen’s score.

While Rohit Nag and Aishwarya Saluja’s Mask act won them 28, Payal Rohatgi and Sangram Singh were ecstatic to get a 28 as well for the first time in the season. Sangram suited the role of Bhuvan in the act which was on Lagaan.

Now coming to drama, Mrunal Thakur and Sharad Tripathi’s Goliyoon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela act was just about average but the drama that ensued after it can make this couple get a lot of sympathy from the audience. Mrunal’s parents through a video message ask her to concentrate on her career rather than relationships. Her mom insists that they will find a good guy for her. Well, from the look on Mrunal’s face, this isn’t the first time she heard that.

Fortunately, the judges today kept it normal without too much ado. This show perhaps has the most awesome brand plugin ever. Rithvik Dhanjani’s Munchification moves in the middle of proceedings were nice to say the least!

But the most appalling part of the show was the face off. Karishma-Upen went for a dance face off with Arpit and Nidhi Ranka because they scored the lowest. While Karishma and Upen were graceful with their impromptu act, Arpit got a little too enthusiastic. He lifted his wife in all sorts of way that was completely unwarranted. Defeat shouldn’t bring out the worse in you. It should change you for better. Obviously, the Rankas were sent packing!

Yes, it was one the biggest and best love stories on Indian television – but how long can the makers stretch the show?

Earlier today reports of Zee TV’s most popular show Jodha Akbar was reported to be pulled off air. The historical show started off with much fanfare and gripped us for the longest time. In spite of not having a great equation off the set Rajat Tokas and Paridhi Sharma gave stellar performances and made us believe in their love story.

The show faced multiple controversies. Over 100 crew members walking off the show, the issues with the director, Paridhi Sharma’s tussle with the director, Rajat Tokas’ altercation with the media, production changing hands from Ekta Kapoor to someone else and more. In spite of all the nautanki off the camera the show was a big success and that is something no one can deny.

However, how much masala can the makers add in a historical love story. Several historical groups are already up in arms for showing this much, anything more and we are sure they will burn down the sets given an opportunity.

The love-hate-love relationship between Jodha and Akbar has hooked the audience and we don’t blame them for loving it so much that #SaveJodhaAkbar is actually trending on Twitter. Fans have marked anyone and everyone who is remotely connected to the show and begged them to not end it. Well like it or not Jodha and Akbar have to die in their end and no matter how much the fans disagree the show has to end somewhere right?

Some fans have taken to being abusive on social networking sites, hoping that maybe their anger will compel the makers to prolong the show. Bhai… kahani mein aur kya add karein? (Brother… What more should they add in the story?)

If you ask us, we think the makers are taking a wise decision and closing the curtains at the right time.

No matter how hard they try Ishani and Ranveer just can’t get out of each other’s head

In the recent episode of Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, Ishani (Radhika Madan) takes the blame of stealing Shikhar’s (Arjun Bijlani) family heirloom. Shikhar who loves Ishani and trusts her blindly gets angry with her for breaking his trust. He throws her out of the house and out of his life after calling off the wedding.

When Shikhar comes to know the truth he immediately follows Ishani to her house and apologises for his mistake. He promises to never again doubt her intentions and to trust her no matter what the situation. Ranveer (Shakti Arora) sees the two of them together and breaks down on losing the love of his life. He goes back to Ritika (Smriti Khanna) and starts preparations for his wedding.

In the upcoming episode, Shikhar will host a masquerade ball theme for his engagement party. He will obviously invite Ranveer and Ritika for the soiree. Ishani will be seen in a red hot dress and Shikhar will wear a black tie-suit. Ishani will be lost in thought in the middle of the road and Ranveer jumps in to save her from a speeding car; they share a close moment and then walk away from each other.

During the party, Shikhar professes his love Ishani, who is physically at the party but mentally is lost in RV’s thoughts. As for RV, he will also be seen dancing with Ritika but keep thinking of Ishani.

Like we’ve already told you before, Ishani will soon discover that Ritika is the one who killed her mother and will decide to come back to RV. She will call off her wedding with Shikhar and claim her rightful place as RV’s first wife.

The first song from Kabir Khan’s directorial venture Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be out on Friday and guess what, we know how Bhai is going to create buzz around the same…

Just a few days back, the much-awaited teaser trailer of Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan was released and within no time it went viral on the internet. Not surprising considering its the Dabangg Khan we are talking about. While the trailer garnered rave reviews on social media, everybody is now eagerly waiting for first song from the film to come out which is titled Selfie Le Le. This is Salman’s introduction song in the film which is also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is slated to hit the theatres during Eid this year. Choreographed by Remo D’Souza, the Being Human star will be seen grooving non-stop in this selfie number. What’s more is that a special set was constructed for five days just to shoot this song. No wonder, it has already created curiosity amongst the masses.

While we can’t wait to see this dance number featuring Salman Khan, we have learnt that the superstar has decided to promote this track on Twitter in a unique way. Well, the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actor is going to click selfies with each and every associated with Bajranig Bhaijaan and then of course he will post the pictures on his Twitter timeline. So don’t be surprised if you suddenly see too many selfies on Salman’s Twitter page.

From Bebo to Nawazuddin to Kabir Khan, I am guessing Bhai will be posing with all of them. In that case, I hope he clicks a selfie with Harshali Malhotra too. Yes, she is little girl from the film who has caught everyone’s attention. It would indeed be adorable to see Bhaijaan pose with her, hai na?

We wouldn’t be surprised if Akhiraj kills Nimboli too

Today on Balika Vadhu we saw how shocked Jagdish get on finding that Ganga is treating Mangal Singh. When Ganga tries to explain herself, Jagdish (Shashank Vyas) assures her that he is not doubting her, but merely surprised by Mangal Singh’s presence. He tells her that it is her duty as a doctor to treat all patients without letting personal tension come in the way. As for Mangal Singh wanting to meet Manu, Jagdish leaves it to Ganga to decide saying that he trust her completely. Later on Mangal Singh’s request, Ganga agrees to get Manu to the hospital on his birthday on the condition that Mangal Singh will not disclose that he is Manu’s father. He readily agrees.

Meanwhile, a lot is happening in Nimboli’s (Gracy Goswami) life too. She’s down with very high fever and the only one to take care of her is her Disa, Mangla (Rajeshwari Badola). A while later, when Mangla is about to retire to her room, she find Kamlee (Farah Hussain) trying to hang herself. Mangla convinces Kamlee to not take a step like this and instead asked her to live and seek justice for Gopal’s death.

The next afternoon when the police come enquiring about Gopal, Akhiraj (Sunil Singh) tells them that he assumes it is suicide since Gopal could not bear that Kamlee was getting married to someone else. He pretends further more to be worried about how Gopal’s death has affected Kamlee and that he’s worried she might resort to extreme measures too. But Nimboli come out speaking the truth. She confronts Akhiraj asking him why he was lying when he himself had killed Gopal with his sword. Of course everyone is taken aback.

The upcoming episode will see Nimboli in a hell lot of trouble. The family manages to convince the police that Akhiraj has no hand in the murder. But Nimboli is in for the worst time of her life. Akhiraj take Nimboli into her room and locks. Mangla, out side, is trying to beg and plead with every member of the family to stop Akhiraj as he would end up killing the child but no one pays any heed to her.

What has Akhiraj done with Nimboli? Will the police finally figure out Akhiraj is the murder and take action against him? Stay tuned to find out!

The media circuit is rife with rumours about the popular Zee TV show coming to an end

Fans of Jodha Akbar are going crazy on social networking sites praying, begging and demanding that their favourite show should not shut shop, but we doubt the makers are going to pay any heed to it. Here’s why we think the makers should finish the story Jodha Akbar and end the show

#Yes, it was a historical and interesting love story. The makers have explored every angle to the love story there’s really nothing more left to explore.

#The falling TRPs are something to be careful about. Last week the show was at 3.1 and this week Jodha Akbar dropped to 2.8 TRPs. If the numbers keep dropping at this rate, it will definitely not look so good for the show.

#Jodha (Paridhi Sharma)and Akbar’s (Rajat Tokas) love story was something everyone loved; no matter how much they stretched the issue. However, the show has become stagnant ‘coz now the makers are forced to repeat storylines, which is getting extremely boring.

#The makers hoped to shift the attention to Salim and Anarkali’s love story in time, but this shift also didn’t go down too well with the fans. They kept insisting on seeing more of Jodha Akbar. And hence the makers brought more complication in Akbar’s life that Jodha had to deal with and sort to save her King.

#In June the show will complete two years of a successful run. The makers have stretched storylines like chewing gums. They’ve already gone away and beyond the real life and love story of the Mughal Emperor and his Rajput Queen. Anything more on the show would really make the show into another saas bahu saga. They should end it while the plot is good and is being loved. Frankly, now we want to see how their love story comes to an end.

Right from the word go, the trailer catches you by neck and mesmerises you to watch it on an endless loop over and over again

So FINALLY the trailer of most eagerly waited film of 2015 is here! And it is wowing viewers all over the world. Directed by ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli, Baahubali backed by Karan Johar stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah in lead roles. 

And now that the trailer is out for the world to see, one can see the sweat and hardwork of Rajamouli’s team that tirelessly worked for three years to dish out this visual spectacle. Touted to be the most expensive Indian film, Baahubali tells the epic tale of good vs evil in massive grand scale. While one cannot get enough of the trailer, I tell you the five things that stood out from the 2 minute promo that has set the social media abuzz:

Mind boggling cinematography

After watching the promo of Baahubali, I could certainly say that the cinematographer of the epic film, KK Senthil Kumar is nothing short of a magician. His work behind the lens is so perfect and at times  wizard like that your eyeballs refuse to look elsewhere but the screen. Be it long shots, panning shots, battle sequences or close ups, the colours in screen melt in your eyes giving a very soothing feeling to visual senses. The intricate VFX work of the film is also commendable and is on par with Hollywood standards.

Jaw dropping production design

During the trailer launch, SS Rajamouli said,” If you take out the stars’ and director’s renumeration, Baahubali is by far the costliest film ever made.” And when you have a glimpse of the trailer, you would understand that every penny spent is worth its value. Made at a sprawling budget of Rs 195 crore, Baahubali produced by Arka Media Works, is a larger than life visual spectacle which leaves you awestruck with its grandscale. Be it the mesmerising aerial shot  of war scenes or the majestic palace sets, Baahubali truly boasts some mind blowing production design.

Costumes and background music

Baahubali is a period drama made in an epic scale. And to match the grandeur of the film, the period costumes of all the characters are so authentic and appealing to the eye that you forget for a moment that these are actors portraying characters in a film. MM Keeravani’s background score is haunting and stylish, matching to the scale of the film, adding zing and flavour to an already splendid trailer.

Prabhas vs Rana Daggubati

Beyond the epic scale of Baahubali’s production, it is a story of a good vs evil and it looks like Rajamouli has been bang on target trying casting Prabhas and Rana Daggubati as hero and villain. While Prabhas looks majestic and supreme as the messiah of the masses, Rana nails the antagonist part of the tyrant king in menacing style. Their epic battle leads to the undercurrent energy of the trailer and promises viewers for one helluva time at theatres on July 10.

Vision of SS Rajamouli

Last and certainly not the least, the real reason behind the splendid trailer of Baahubali, is the vision of director SS Rajamouli, who has poured his heart and soul into the making of the film in last three years or so. Rajamouli is the master of creating big budget blockbusters but at the same time is extremely creative in his thinking and visualisation. It is almost astonishing that the entire movie of Baahubali, which is set to give B-town films a run for their money, has emerged out of the mind of the stylish filmmaker.

The actor will be missing from action for a while and we’ll tell you exactly where he will be

Reports suggest that Dhruv aka Utkarsh Gupta has been roped in by Splitsvilla 8 and will be busy for a month or two shooting for the reality show. Last week Dhruv told Fab 5 on Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan that he is going away for some time for musical workshop and to advance his career. Hence he will be missing from action.

Now in his absence Aaliya (Krissann Barretto) will get close to Aaryaman (Karan Jotwani). No one knows that Aaryaman has come to SPACE with an intention that will not sit well with Fab 5. But since Aaryaman has helped the Fab 5 in a tricky situation with Pandit (Dishank Arora) they somehow trust him and are friendly with him. Except Dhruv, who was not very comfortable with the group getting too close to Aaryaman especially Aaliya. The first time he saw them getting close; he lost his cool and kept coming in between the two.

In the upcoming episodes, Dhruv will not be seen in the college premises and Aaryaman will become friendly with Fab 5, especially Aaliya. From what we hear, Harshad (Abhishek Malik) has specially asked him to infiltrate the group and to help him break them. Aaryaman will be seen trying to split Fab 5, but will he succeed or not remains to be seen. However, Aaliya who was really hurt by Dhruv will definitely get close to Aaryaman and will probably be the first one to part away from the group – so we hear.

Let’s hope Dhruv comes back soon and makes sure that Fab 5 is intact and rekindles his relationship with Aaliya.

Director SS Rajamouli’s forthcoming project Bahubali: The Beginning  is all set to release on 10th July. Karan Johar who will be presenting the project is associating with the director for the very first time.

The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah in lead roles. The trailer of the film, which is trending like crazy in social media, was launched today in the presence of producer Karan Johar, director SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, Tamannaah, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty along with Telugu producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni.

After talking about the movie for great lengths, the charismatic Mr Johar  clicked a selfie with the Baahubali team comprising of  director SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, Tamannaah, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty.  While we all wait for KJO to share that epic selfie with fans, the shutter bugs made merry by clicking infinite pictures of the stars. Tamannaah stole the thunder by wearing designer Sabyasachi’s Summer Resort 2015.

The veteran actor recently appeared on Arnab Goswami’s show Frankly Speaking…

Amitabh Bachchan was invited on the Times Now anchor Arnab Goswami’s show Barely Speaking for a free-wheeling chat. While on the show Sr Bachchan was posed with a lot of questions and one of those was about Salman Khan’s hit and run case. Arnab asked Bachchan, “Why does the Hindi film industry have blinkers on?” (regarding the unanimous support Salman Khan received from the film fraternity despite being convicted in the case)

To that Bachchan replied, “No, they’re not blinkers. What is wrong in saying something good about a person?”

Arnab went on to grill Bachchan asking his questions like, “So he (Salman) can kill a person and get away with it?” and “No word for the victim?” but Amitabh firmly answered, “Fair enough, there’s the law of the land, which will take care of it.”

Arnab, who is popular for cutting his guests while they talk and aggressively make his point by talking over them, probed Bachchan for more controversial answers but the actor kept a diplomatic stance. Bachchan also spoke about how he would never talk politics again and remain apolitical. As Arnab prods him to talk politics Amitabh refuses by simply stating, “I am not on Newshour” and with that he shuts down Goswami! (that is our favourite moment from the interview)

It is Jr Shotgun’s birthday today and we just thought of the perfect gifts to give her!

As Sonakshi Sinha turns an year older today. The gutsy gal is super busy with work and reality show-judging currently and we think it is super chill of her to dabble in a variety of things which show us different facets of her crazy-awesome personality. Now we don’t know if Sona had a wishlist for birthday gifts this year, but we decided to make up our own list of gifts that we’d like to give her today. Check out out list of presents…

Kick-boxing gloves: Well, Jr Shotgun is currently doing AR Murugadoss’ Akira and the film requires her to do a lot of action sequences. We think if she gets her won pair of kickboxing gloves, she can practice throwing punches at home as well. Not only would that help her with the film, it also makes for a great self-defence talent everyone must have!

Selfie stick: Although we have a feeling that she might already have one, but in any case, we want Sona to have a brand new selfie stick today because she is a self-confessed selfie addict who to be honest, is quite a pro at it! So on her birthday we want her to take birthday selfies with a cool new selfie stick!

Harmonium: That may sound like the weirdest gift on this list but we think Jr Shotgun can totally use that musical instrument, now that she is judging a reality show based on singing talent. Considering that Sona has always expressed a desire to be good at singing herself, some riyaaz on a harmonium would be awesome for her! Do you agree?

Jars of Nutella: This one doesn’t really need much explaining. The Akira actress LOVES Nutella. So we want to give her a box full of Nutella jars and make her very happy!

Kangana Ranaut and Deepika Padukone are currently the topic of discussion everywhere. Well, we can’t blame them because the two have once again impressed us all with their acting chops. While Ms Ranaut’s impeccable performance in Tanu Weds Manu Returns has charmed many, Dippy on the other hand is being talked about because of her fine act in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku. What’s even more gratifying is that both the films have fared well in India and aboard as well. Now that doesn’t happen very often, right?

Okay, so with Kangana it’s becoming quite often considering last year her film Queen also did good business domestically and internationally too. But again, in a male dominant industry, its always nice to see the female brigade leading from the front, no?

In the last episode, we saw Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) being disoriented and forgetting that she is at her own place and not with the Bhallas. Mihika(Mihika Verma) consoled her and told her to take rest, as she is still recovering from her injuries. Later, Aditya was seen addressing Ishita as ‘Ishima’ much to her delight. Raman was seen informing Ishita about his meeting at the office. Meanwhile, Mihika and Mihir were seen telling ACP Abhishek that Shagun(Anita Hassanandani) is missing. The episode ended with Ishita suggesting Aditya to pick up the hobby of learning how to play Guitar.

In the upcoming episode, a major twist will be seen taking place in the show. Aditya will request Ishita for permission to attend a friend’s wedding. The latter will agree, but will order him to return on time. After a few hours, Ishita will get worried when Aditya won’t come back home. She will visit the party to pick him up. Aditya will see Ishita there, and will be embarrassed with her presence in front of his friends. Further, the police will come barging in stating that there are illegal activities going in at the party, much to Ishita’s shock! It would be revealed that some of Adi’s friends possessed adult CD’s and were watching them at the party. Upon seeing the police, one of them would slip the CD in Aditya’s pocket and he would get caught! Oh no…

But YHM guys aren’t the only dubsmashers from Telly land. More recently, Qubool Hai babes Surbhi Jyoti aka Sanam and Additi Gupta aka New Sanam have joined this league and we might as well say- Whatta debut!

With the videos put to show, both the Sanams are dubsmashing like total pros. They have lip synced to a hilarious dialogue where a shopkeeper spells coke as cock and then that creepy expression. Oh its HILARIOUS! Surbhi shared this video on Insta saying, “For my adorable shopkeeper Gaurav Gera with my fun partner Additi Gupta.” There is this another video where the two are also seen doing the ‘burger rap’! And Surbhi captioned it saying, “But we are on diet.. this is for you all.”

While the first four months of 2015 weren’t dhamakedaar as far as box office is concerned, May brought in much needed relief as Gabbar Is Back, Piku and Tanu Weds Manu Returns ended up faring exceptionally well at the ticket windows…

Last month certainly turned out to be good for Bollywood. While Anurag Kashyap’s big budget film Bombay Velvet starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar failed to pack a solid punch at the box office, Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar Is Back, Deepika Padukone’s Piku and Kangana Ranaut’s romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns on the other hand got cash registers jingling and how! Akki’s action film was the first one to hit the theatres in the month of May and the film got off to a great start. In no time, Khiladi Kumar’s flick crossed the Rs 50 crore mark and ended the dry spell at the Indian box office. Next came Piku, this Shoojit Sircar directorial impressed the critics and audience alike. In fact, the family drama also performed well in the international markets. Piku is still running in the cinema halls and so far has collected Rs 77.33 crore domestically which is impressive.

After these two films, Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns released and literally stormed the box office. This Aanand L Rai directorial has become the first film of 2015 to enter the rs 100 crore club and its still going rock steady at the BO. Now we know all the three films – Gabbar Is Back, Piku and Tanu Weds Manu Returns have done really good business but according to box office figures its Ms Ranaut who has grabbed the no.1 position in the month of May. Twinkle Khanna’s hubby dearest is at no.2 position whereas Ms Padukone is at no.3 spot.

Well, Going by the above figures, its pretty clear why Kangana Ranaut is at the top, hai na?

We spoke to exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi and asked him about the three films which fared well last month. Here’s what he said, “May turned out to be phenomenal with all the three films – Gabbar Is Back, Piku and Tanu Weds Manu Returns – doing amazingly well at the box office. The films were enjoyed by the audience across multiplexes and single screens which was really hood. However, the combined success of these three films still did not make up for the loss which Bombay Velvet suffered. It will take time to recover that money but resurrection is on its ways. In fact, February, March and April were also dull due to world cup and IPL but May got the industry going and with films like Dil Dhadakne Do, Hamarai Adhuri Kahani and ABCD 2, things are looking good ahead.

Talking about the top three stars of May, Rathi said, “One thing that works is entertainment and all three films did entertain the audienec. But if I have to rank the stars according to the box office then obviously Kangana is at no.1, Akshay at no. 2 and Deepika at no.3 position.”

Baahubali trailer is out and it has managed to stun the viewers with its awesome production design, graphics work and cinematography. While many in the industry are raving about SS Rajamouli’s latest magnum opus, how can the attention seeking twitter genius Ram Gopal Varma not share his views with us.

Backed by Karan Johar, the first part of the series, Baahubali: The Beginning starring Prabhas, Tamannaah, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty is all set to release on July 10.  Ramu seems to have gone gaga over the trailer of the film, calling it a Taj Mahal in the field of Indian cinema.

Praising the film, RGV gave 70 out of 100 in international scale and 500 out of 100 in Indian scale. Now that tells how much did Mr Ramu is in awe with the trailer. Calling Rajamouli as the man with balls of steel, heart of roses and mind of a conqueror, Ramu believes that even thinking about monetary returns from the film will be an act of blasphemy.
