Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have always been the IT couple of Bollywood but their relationship has not been without any ups and down. Do you remember November 2014? Ranbir’s mom dearest Neetu Kapoor posted this seemingly innocent picture online and it broke the internet for all the wrong reasons! She had cropped out Ranbir’s girlfriend Katrina out of the photo causing media to speculate that she had not completely accepted her into the Kapoor clan.

Now, moving on to 2015. Ranbir Kapoor’s uncle and yesteryear superstar Shashi Kapoor recently hosted a lavish Christmas party for the entire Kapoor clan. Ranbir and Katrina walked in beaming, hand-in-hand together only to give a nice, smiling picture to the press, first time since the two started dating. If this was not a clear indication of the couple’s strong bond, a family photograph featuring Katrina and the Kapoors has started doing the rounds on the internet.

After looking at both the pictures, one can say that things have taken a 360 degree turn for Kat. Though mom Neetu gave the party a miss, this photo is a proof enough to show that she has finally being accepted by the family. Is a wedding on card soon then, Ranbir and Katrina?

Akshay Kumar’s New Year treat is all set to scorch over 500 screens overseas….

Akshay Kumar is set to start the New Year with a bang with his political thriller, Airlift! After watching its teaser and poster we are sure that this film will be kickass with some classic Akshay Kumar-like stunts and awesome sauce narrative. Akshay will be seen in a garb of a Kuwait-based businessman Ranjit Katyal who is instrumental in evacuating about one lakh Indians from Kuwait during the 1990 gulf war.

The film also stars Nimrat Kaur who will play Akshay’s love interest in the film. The film will have a massive release in India as well as abroad as it will hit around 500 screens abroad. The film will surely give you goosebumps, we are sure. The film is set to release on January 22, just before the Republic Day.

In 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait. Expatriate Indians living in both countries were evacuated between August 13 and October 11 on board Indian Airlines flights, the government having tried and abandoned the use of military aircraft because of problems in getting airspace clearance.

Not just Jr NTR’s look, but even the trailer looks quite interesting

Jr NTR’s next film, Nannaku Prematho, is releasing on Sankranthi 2016. The film directed by Sukumar has been making news ever since the first look of Jr NTR was leaked from the film. With his pointed beard and mo-hawk hairstyle, Jr NTR has got the fans go gaga over his new look.

The film, which also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Jagapathi Babu, was predominantly shot in London. Devi Sri Prasad, who gave superhit music for Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu, has given music for Nannaku Prematho. The trailer of the film has been finally  launched   and this is what I thought about it:

After playing a bad cop with raging temper in Puri Jagannadh in Temper, Jr NTR is back with a bang playing a suave London based businessman, oozing style in  every frame. The trailer is quite interesting as the makers show us both emotional and cold side of Jr NTR. Rakul Preet Singh is hardly there in the trailer and there is absolutely no focus on romantic angle between them. Jagapathi Babu plays villain but doesn’t seems to have a very powerful character. Jr NTR aces in stylish fighting but it is his emotional side towards his father that steals the show. There is a sequence in the trailer where it looks like Jr NTR is pulling of a Leonardo Di Caprio from The Wolf of Wall Street. The background score by DSP is good and aptly aids the trailer. Overall, Nannaku Prematho trailer makes for a refreshing watch!

The film opens well at the Indian market…

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley, opened well at the Indian domestic market after releasing this weekend. The film has received a very good response even though it has released a week after the worldwide release. The film faced stiff competition for screens and audience due to Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale, but still it has managed to open well.

The film held a paid preview on Thursday, where it earned a meagre amount, followed by a very good opening on Friday when it collected RS 3.58 crore. Though it dipped on the weekend, the film has performed well. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh reveals, “#StarWarsTheForceAwakens Thu previews 1.02 cr, Fri 3.58 cr, Sat 2.75 cr, Sun 2.67 cr. Total: Rs 10.02 cr. India biz.”

The film has got good reviews from critics and the audience response has been outstanding too. But, with competition from Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale, there is a doubt if it will be able to do very well or not. However, with no release till January 8, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has a good potential to have a good run at the Indian domestic box office.

The new Star Wars film is directed by JJ Abrams, and is the seventh part of the franchise. The next film will release in May 2017, and will be directed by the  Looper director Rian Johnson. There will also be a spin-off movie called Rogue One that will release next year. Internationally, the film has earned $ 1 billion (Rs 6617 crore) in 12 days.

The film has performed at par at the domestic as well as international markets…

Just a few days back Dilwale crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office and now it has crossed the Rs 250 crore mark too. At the end of Sunday, the film has a gross worldwide collection of Rs 273.50 crore. The film has broken quite a few records at the overseas market, however it hasn’t been able to break records at the domestic market.

The film opened very well at both, the domestic and International box offices, but it has dipped at the domestic market in the past few days. It has under-performed even over this weekend even though there were holidays and the film collected Rs 123.88 crore nett at the end of the second weekend at the domestic box office. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed, “#Dilwale doesn’t witness major spurt in biz, despite holidays. [Week 2] Fri 8.11 cr, Sat 6 cr, Sun 7.12 cr. Total: Rs 123.88 cr. India biz.”

However, the film has performed very well at the overseas market as it collected Rs 110.83 crore by Sunday. Talking about the overseas collections, Taran Adarsh mentioned, “#Dilwale is FANTASTIC Overseas. 10-day total [till Sun]: approx $ 16.75 million [Rs 110.83 cr]. UAE+GCC alone contributed $ 6.3 million. WOW!”

The film is expected to have a good run till Januray 8, as no other film is releasing. Though it will face stiff competition from Bajirao Mastani and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we expect the film to cross the Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide market in a few days.

The character was completely avoided in the fifth season of the most followed series.

Ned Stark’s kids had it enough, be it legitimate or illegitimate. Every kid of his has suffered in one way or the other. While the father himself had lost his head, his eldest son Robb Stark is killed along with his mother and pregnant wife in the bloodiest of all weddings. His elder daughter gets tortured and even raped on her marital night, while the younger daughter turns blind as seen in the last season.

Then there is his supposedly bastard son, Jon Snow, who was stabbed in the last episode of the last season. And his adopted son was castrated!

So if you really forgot about them, we won’t blame you for that! So if these characters have any fans, there is good news for you guys. Bran Stark is making a return to the season, and he had grown into a strapping young man. Gone are those cute chubby looks, and locks of hair. His hair is now cut, and going by the above pic, he looks like he means business!

When we last saw him, he had reached the abode of the Three Eyed Raven, who had promised him that he would fly. He had also mastered the ability to take control of the minds of animals and even his assistant, Hodor!

The actor’s extravagant bash has been the talk of town of late!

Salman Khan has turned 50! As unbelievable as it may sound but the truth is staring us in the face wide-eyed. No kidding there!

With an enormous cake and an extravagant party, the actor kick-started the 50th year of his life amidst loved ones and well wishers! From the Khaan-daan to his recent girlfriend Iulia Vantur, each and every member graced the occasion; however, we hear that it was not only them who enjoyed the bash.

On December 27th night, there were many gate crashers who made it to Bhai’s Panvel farmhouse and some of them even managed to click selfies. According to an eyewitness, initially the security remains tight, however as the night descended, many well-wishers who were trying to sneak in got their free entry pass as the crowd thickens. So if you were among the many waiting for a glimpse of Salman Khan outside his Galaxy apartment, we do pity you!

We were the FIRST ONES to tell you that the Sultan star will officially introduce the Romanian actress as his girlfriend seen in the pictures of his birthday bash, Salman’s girlfriend Iulia was by his side all through the night. Although Iulia was present in the party, she was apparently cold-shouldered by Salman’s friend. One of the reasons for the same was because these celebs were apprehensive. Salman and Iulia‘s alleged relationship is a closely guarded secret and hence they did not want to take pictures that would reveal anything.

Hollywood calling the baddie of VIP…

Actor Amitash Pradhan has landed a plum role in the upcoming dance-based film Heartbeats, which will be directed by writer of Step Up franchise Duane Adler. “I’m really excited about this project. We start shooting from January 2016,” Amitash, who is currently undergoing a workshop for the film in Mumbai, told a news portal.

Recalling how he landed the role, the actor, known for playing the baddie in Dhanush-starrer Tamil actioner “Vella Illa Pattathari”, said: “I had sent my dance and acting clip to Nalini Ratnam (casting director), who further sent it to the production team. Then I went to Mumbai and gave eight to nine screen tests and auditioned for the role”.

Calling it a “Bollywood meets hip-hop” kind of dance film, he said he feels extremely honoured to be training with the best dancers in the business.

“It’s such an honour to be associated with choreographers such as Tessandra Chavez and Shampa Gopikrishna, who had worked in ‘Bajirao Mastani’,” he added. To be shot in and around India, the film is about a female American hip-hop dancer who travels to India for a wedding and falls in love with a man who introduces her to Indian style of dancing. The film is being produced by Sriram Das and Karine Martin. Streaming service Dance Network has also partnered with Das on this project.

The actor’s sister Arpita had personalised decor in place for his 50th birthday!

Salman Khan has turned 50 and this may not come a s surprise but he had a GRAND birthday celebration at his Panvel farmhouse this year. From the anti-gravity cake to personalised detailing of the decor, each and everything was put in place by his loving sister Arpita Khan Sharma.

A doting sister Arpita, made sure that this party shouldn’t fall short of ‘worth making memory’ moments. She personally asked the decor people to design each and every item according to Bhai’s taste so much so that the desserts and other food items had SK initials with cream on it.

While one section saw beautiful cages with white draping and floral decor, the other had life sized pictures of Salman spread across a vast area. All in all it indeed was lavish starry affair.

Salman’s girlfriend Iulia Vantur was also seen accompanying the actor throughout the night. In her recent Instagram post you can catch her singing Teri Meri Prem Kahani from Salman’s film Bodyguard. Much love eh?

Yes. Akshay Kumar vouched for what he said as he released this new poster of his upcoming film Airlift! From the time of the release of the film’s trailer, it has made it to our list of most anticipated films of 2016. The film’s trailer alone gave our patriotic feelings a jolt and ever since, has made us more and more intrigued to watch it. The film is a true story of world’s biggest human evacuation mission that took place during the Iraq-Kuwait war. While not many people know of this, Airlift is going to make sure that this untold tale of bravery reaches all the Indians and imbibes a sense of pride in them. Well, I’m very excited for the film and this new poster tells me yet another tale that pushes me towards the film.

In the trailer itself Akshay Kumar’s character gives a soliloquy of how not many know of the terror and perils Indians in Kuwait went through during the war. Not just that, he also speaks about how bravery of a few led to salvaging of several lives that were quite sure that they wouldn’t live to see the light of day. In the recent poster released by Akshay, it shows the actor and his co-star Nimrat Kaur staring outside while the reflection on the window glass shows war and terror. The trailer and posters show a promising tale that will unwind in January. And yes, as Akshay said, will make you feel proud to be an Indian!

The film sees a drop again on the second Monday…

Dilwale, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, opened very well, but it has been dipping since the first Monday. The film had an average occupancy during the weekdays and it dipped more over the second weekend. At the end of the second weekend the film had earned Rs 123.88 crore. It added another Rs 3.5 crore on the second Monday to take its total to Rs 127.38 crore.

However, the film has witnessed a huge dip. The film had collected Rs 10.09 crore on the first Monday and Rs 7.12 crore on the second Sunday. Rs 3.5 crore is the least amount the film is collected till now. Ranveer Singh’s Bajirao Mastani, on the other hand, collected Rs 5.60 crore on the second Monday. Bajirao Mastani has out-performed Dilwale since the first Monday collections.

Dilwale received mixed reviews and while the audience liked the film initially, it seems the film has no takers now. The film is set to drop further over the weekend and it might not be able to take advantage of the potential to earn big. There is no release till January 8, but Dilwale might just wrap up before that.

The film has had a huge percentage decline from the 1st weekend figure to the second weekend figures, as explained by trade analyst Taran Aadarsh, “Decline in biz from 1ST WEEKEND to 2ND WEEKEND: #Dilwale 67.38%, #BajiraoMastani 26.66% India biz.”

However, Dilwale continues to do well at the international box office. It is heading toward $ 1 million (Rs 6.61 crore) in Australia and $ 5 million (Rs 33.08 crore) in the USA & Canada markets.

Madhur Bhandarkar plans Fashion 2 in mid 2016.

National award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar, who is known for his controversial, dark yet realistic style of film making has something special planned in store. Many of his notable films include Chandni Bar, Satta and Page 3. But the one movie which really made a mark was the Priyanka Chopra starrer Fashion. It was a breakthrough movie not just for the veteran director but for actress Priyanka Chopra as well. The former miss world winner owes her meteoric rise to fame to Fashion and Mr Bhandarkar. Imagine the excitement if this great movie actually got a sequel. That is exactly what may be on the cards. Bollywood trade expert Taran Adarsh recently tweeted,” Madhur Bhandarkar planning #Fashion2 in mid-2016. Will be a love triangle. Fresh subject. One top actress to be finalized soon.” According to Mr Adarsh, the bollywood big shot director is planning a sequel for the 2008 hit film, Fashion, in the middle of 2016. The story will feature a love triangle with a rather fresh subject. The casting is not done yet and one among bollywood’s top actresses will be finalized soon.

On a critical note, Mr Bhandarkar’s recent ventures have not been up to the mark. The 2015 movie Calendar Girls in particular was a rather mauled by critics who usually applaud the filmmaker’s vision. In light of his recent failures, we wonder if Mr Bhandarkar can redeem himself with Fashion 2. With this news, the fans wonder if Priyanka, who was the leading lady of Fashion, will be recast in the sequel or will the opportunity be given to someone else.

The film will make you feel euphoric, restless, uncomfortable and deliriously content!

Nana Patekar starrer Natsamrat releases on January 1, 2015.

It would be unfair to say that Nana Patekar has delivered his career best performance in this film for the actor has delivered so many dhamakedaar roles till date that you will lose count

Yet, Natsamrat is special for Nana. After watching the movie you will realise what this actor does to the film and what the film does to you. The role of the iconic Belwalkar is DREAM for any actor, anywhere. Natsamrat is adapted from V V Shirwadkar’s historic play which is celebrated by masses since decades. This role was once played by celebrated artistes like Satish Dubhashi and Shriram Lagoo. Nana Patekar colours this part in his own style, leaving you wanting for more. You will get so engrossed in the narrative and Nana’s spectacular dialogue delivery that you will forget everything else. You will cry and laugh at the same time, such is the power for this film and we are not kidding.

The plot of the story revolves around the protagonist who once a renowned theatre artiste or Natsamrat is reduced to a homeless wretch, counting his last days amidst the burnt remains of his theatre company. The intense portions of the film wil sure make you feel uneasy but Nana and Vikram Gokhale’s wry, wicked humour especially at the time of adversity will catch you unawares, make you laugh as you wipe a tear unselfconsciously trickling from your eye. You will instantly relate to this film if you love performing arts and appreciate beauty in all its forms and kinds.

The first half ends on a sombre note as Nana‘s character messes up big time as he embarrasses his grown up kids with his drunken antics!

He maybe away from the limelight but Aditya Roy Kapur sure knows how to make heads turn. This time around the actor has gotten down and dirty sweating it out in the gym to achieve a well carved body.

You cannot take your eyes off the well carved abs and the low fitting jeans that hangs in precise manner. Aditya’s new avatar for Fitoor also starring Katrina Kaif will give you major gymming inspiration. The actor has taken a different route to showcase a well-toned physique in his next. He has opted for body sculpting.

“Aditya has always had an athletic physique, but for ‘Fitoor’, that stars Katrina Kaif, he decided to take up body sculpting to develop a completely different look from what has been seen of him before,” says a source.

“What I love, as an actor, is the endeavour to adapt yourself to the character that you are playing. For this one, my director had a vision for me, and it meant I had to drop more weight to look a certain way. I guess if you change the way you look then you change the way you feel too. The process was gruelling, but it taught me a lot about myself, shared Aditya, who seems delighted with his new feat.

When Dilwale announced that they are going to release on December 18, everyone went quiet. Two biggies, Ranveer Singh’s Bajirao Mastani and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale were all set to clash. Sanjay Leela Bhansali was clashing with Rohit Shetty. Ranveer-Deepika were clashing with SRK-Kajol. A historic film was clashing against a mass entertainer. There was an attempt to squash the clash, but talks failed. The clash was on.

The audiences got divided and everyone suggested, even the trade suggested, that Dilwale would crush Bajirao Mastani because of its mass appeal. And while Dilwale opened phenomenally well and Bajirao Mastani opened slow, it seems Bajirao Mastani has the momentum now as it is set to overtake the film by tonight. Here is an analysis of the box office battle till now:

Opening Day

Dilwale: Rs 21 crore

Bajirao Mastani: Rs 12.80 crore

Dilwale opened phenomenally with an occupancy of 80-90 per cent to collect Rs 21 crore on day one, while Bajirao Mastani opened with an occupancy of about 70-80 per cent to collect Rs 12.80 crore.

First Weekend

Dilwale: Rs 65.09 crore

Bajirao Mastani: Rs 46.77 crore

With similar occupancies, Dilwale lead the way at the end of the first weekend with a total nett domestic collection of Rs 65.09 crore, while Bajirao Mastani had a nett domestic collection of Rs 46.77 crore.

First Monday

Dilwale: Rs 75.18 crore

Bajirao Mastani: Rs 57.02 crore

On the first Monday, Dilwale crashed and collected only Rs 10.09 crore. On the other hand, Bajirao Mastani maintained a steady run and collected Rs 10.25 crore, which was higher than Dilwale. This was the turning point in the box office battle.

First Week

Dilwale: Rs 102.65 crore

Bajirao Mastani: Rs 86.15 crore

Over the weekdays, Bajirao Mastani constantly out-performed Dilwale as a result of the good word of mouth publicity. It helped Bajirao close the gap down to Dilwale. In the weekdays, while Dilwale had earned Rs 37.56 crore, Bajirao Mastani earned Rs 46.77 crore.

Second Weekend

Dilwale: Rs 123.88 crore

Bajirao Mastani: Rs 120.45 crore

Bajirao Mastani closed the gap to Dilwale further over the second weekend. While Bajirao Mastani had a good occupancy, Dilwale‘s occupancy decreased. BM earned Rs 34.30 crore over the second weekend, while Dilwale earned only Rs 21.23 crore.

Second Monday

Dilwale: Rs 127.38 crore

Bajirao Mastani: Rs 126.05 crore

Bajirao Mastani is now at touching distance as it earned Rs 5.60 crore as compared to Dilwale Rs 3.50 crore on the second weekend.

Trade sources suggest that Dilwale is going to slide more over the weekdays, while Bajirao Mastani will have a steady run this week. Trade also suggests that by the end of tonight, Bajirao Mastani will overtake Dilwale and emerge the clear winner. Content will over power mass popularity, which has been the basic theme of 2015.

A disco number in a police drama?

Bollywood’s ‘disco king’ Bappi Lahiri has sung a track for director Prakash Jha’s upcoming film Jai Gangaajal. Jha, who will also be seen playing a police officer in the film, took to Twitter where he shared that the “indomitable” singer has sung the last song for the film.

“Eventually it happened! The indomitable @thebappilahiri sings the last song for ‘Jai Gangaajal‘! @salim_merchant @Sulaiman,” Jha, who has helmed movies like Satyagraha and Raajneeti, tweeted on Tuesday night.

Jai Gangaajal stars actress Priyanka Chopra in the lead role. Priyanka, who was recently seen in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, will be seen essaying the role of police officer Aabha Mathur in Jha’s directorial, slated to release on March 4 next year.

The show is all set to go off air on its host channel Colors!

Rumour has been abuzz that popular television show Comedy Nights With Kapil will go off air with Comedy Nights With Krushna coming in the forefront. Speculation is rife that Krushna Abhishek will be replacing Kapil on the show Comedy Nights With Kapil and it will be called Comedy Nights With Krushna.

Kapil is bidding adieu to the channel and the last episode of his show will be aired on January 17. The channel had earlier introduced another comedy show Comedy Nights Bachao, which has a bunch of stand-up comedians and actors teaming up for a roast of the celebrities who appear on the show. This didn’t go down well with Kapil who reportedly felt that the channel was promoting the other show and even the same celebrities were going on both, one of the reasons for him wrapping up his show.

So a report now states that the show is not ending but moving on to another channel. A source revealed this to a leading daily by saying, “Yes, it’s true. We told them we would go off air in December, but since they didn’t have a replacement ready, they requested us to continue till January 17. We started on a good note and put in immense hard work to maintain the quality.”

As of now, we are seeing how Sartaj (Vineet Sharma) and Avdesh Singh (Abhiram Nain) have joined hands to blackmail Rajmata (Anita Raaj). During the New Year, Rajmata will question Sartaj as to why he’s still in the palace. In a drunken state, he will blurt out everything much to her delight. In the mean time, Badi Rani Maa (Surekha Sikri) will make a return to the palace and insist on going on a hunger strike till Ranaji (Siddhant Karnick) forgives her. This will upset Gayatri (Drashti Dhami) who was working on her relationship with Ranaji.

Viewers of the show will also be treated to two special performances from Rashami Desai and Karan Wahi. The lovely actress will be shown doing a mujra for all the guests at a party thrown at the royal palace. Karan Wahi will be doing some Bollywood style dancing. Music, dance and entertainment will characterize this episode. Viewers will also look forward to a special dance between Gayatri and Ranaji. The latter revealed how nervous he was to shake a leg with Drashti, who is the winner of a reality dance show.
