Remember Dr Shalini from Left Right Left. Actress Aparna Tilak is reportedly all set to enter the Bigg Boss 10 house soon as a wild card contestant. The actress has done shows like Koi Apna Sa, Jeet and Left Right Left. She also did a film, Footpath but it was not a huge success. Aparna is married to Dr.Amod and has a son. The actress is away from the TV circuit since some time but is quite active at parties. Aparna has worked with current Bigg Boss 10 contestant Rahul Dev in Footpath. Is Bigg Boss 10 going to be a comeback for her?

Parul Chauhan
Remember Ragini from Bidaai. Actress Parul Chauhan has stepped into Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Kartik’s (Mohsin Khan) mother. The actress made her entry this week when she bumped into Akshara (Hina Khan) at the temple. While Akshara manages to find out that she is Suvarna Goenka, she does not know who Akshara is. Parul is thrilled to be back with Rajan Shahi Productions with whom she made her debut. The actress has no apprehensions about playing a mom and says she shares a warm rapport with Hina Khan as well. So, are you excited to see Parul?

Ishqbaaz
Though it is not in the top shows, Ishqbaaz enjoys a popular fan base. This week, the interest in the show has heightened due to the bride-swapping track. We know that Shivaay Singh Oberoi (Nakuul Mehta) is supposed to marry Tia (Navina Bole) but she does not turn up at the mandap. SSO marries Anika (Surbhi Chandna) instead. It is one nail-biting track and the interest in the show has grown manifold. Everyone wants to know if the marriage will happen as everyone hopes for? Fingers crossed.

Arjun Bijlani – Aparna Dixit
Naagin actor Arjun Bijlani is known to be a complete family man. It came as a shocker for us when reports of him spotted getting cosy with Aparna Dixit at a suburban nightspot did the rounds. The actress plays the lead in Life Ok’s Kalash – Ek Vishwas. The two were apparently getting too close at the hotspot and later he was seen assisting the actress who looked sloshed. Both the parties rubbished the story saying that they were with a group of friends and just hanging out. A source told Bollywood Life that Arjun’s brother-in-law was also present.

Seema Pandey
Rumours floated around that actress Seema Pandey was thrown out of Jamai Raja due to her tantrums. However, the lady maintained that she quit as she was not comfortable with the character. She said she was told to sit on a wheelchair for a month and that did not appeal to her.

Fans of Swaragini have also taken to Twitter to protest against the show going off air. Well, December 16 is the date of telecast of the last episode. A few actors have expressed that the creative team made some wrong decisions at the script level that totally backfired. The last few tracks were engrossing but it was too little, too late.

Dunno about patching up but Salman Khan definitely seems to be very keen on promoting Iulia Vantur’s career as a singer in Bollywood. Yes! While he collaborated with his ladylove on a duet version of Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai during Sultan. We’ve just got to hear that Iulia recently recorded another song with Himesh Reshammiya, who for all that we know is Salman’s dear friend. That’s right! After returning to Mumbai, turns out Iulia rehearsed the track, ‘Every Night And Day’ for Himesh’s new album, ‘Aap Se Mausiiquii’ and recorded the track the very next day. Himesh is totally blown over by Iulia’s voice, especially for the fact that she’s sung it entirely Hindi. In interaction with Bombay Times, Himesh said, “I loved the way she had sung it and felt she was absolutely right for my song. When I approached her, she agreed instantly. Except for the hook line ‘Every night and day, just you and me’, the entire numbers is in Hindi and its video will be shot next month. Iulia is talented and has sung beautifully. She is a professional singer, so she’s well-versed with the technicalities of recording. Her Hindi diction and pronunciation surprised me and I’m happy with the way the track has shaped up. All those who have heard it, have loved it.”

Way to go Iulia! While it’s left to see if Salman will step forward and personally launch Iulia’s song. Himesh feels extremely grateful to Salman for always holding his back and promoting his music as he added, “”I have always been indebted to Salman bhai and his family for supporting me and I’m happy that he loves the songs of my new album.”

Four wild card contestants are going to set foot inside the Bigg Boss house tomorrow. One of them is Sahil Anand, who once tried to woo Varun Dhawan’s girl. Dear Zindagi is winning hearts and how! Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, while fans were already excited to see this debut pairing on the big screen. Critics too seem to be highly impressed with the film right from it’s simplistic narration to the flawless performances delivered by Alia and SRK. In fact, that explains why despite having a limited in release in just 1100 screens across India, Dear Zindagi is performing phenomenally well at the box office for early estimates suggest the film has grossed an approx of Rs 10 crore on the opening day. Yes! Probably, the word of mouth publicity is working wonders for DZ considering this is not even a regular Shah Rukh film which releases on a grand scale and gets sold entirely on his name. A realistic plot with honest performances, guess that’s all that’s taking to draw more footfalls at the theaters. Impressive, right? That reminds us how trade Expert Amul Vikas Mohan, Editor Super Cinema had well in advance predicted the opening day collections of Dear Zindagi as he had said, “I think it will open big. Expectations are high since it’s a Shah Rukh Khan film. Of course, we all know he isn’t probably there in it for more than 30 minutes. But I am sure people will still want to see him. It’s been awhile since his last movie Fan released. Also I think there is an abundance of cuteness with Alia and Shah Rukh in it. That’s going to be a big hit for the people in metros. Ideally, it should open anywhere around Rs 11 crore. Unlike trade predictions which suggested a bracket of Rs 10 crore-Rs 11 crore, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt’s Dear Zindagi has managed to only gross a total of Rs 8.75 crore on opening day. Yes! Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh just tweeted the exact box office figures of Dear Zindagi day 1 stating, “Dear Zindagi has a STRONG start… Hi-end plexes of major centres contribute maximum… Fri ₹ 8.75 cr [1200 screens]. India biz. Probably, the demonetisation has taken a toll on the single screens considering only the multiplexes have majorly contributed in the first day collections. While the fans were already excited to see Shah Rukh and Alia’s debut pairing on the big screen. The critics too seem to be highly impressed with the film right from director Gauri Shinde’s simplistic narration to Alia and SRK’s flawless performances. And moreover, it’s the relatable concept backed by life lessons is what’s working wonders for Dear Zindagi. Having being made on a budget of not more Rs 60-65 crore, if Dear Zindagi manages to collect close to Rs 9 crore on opening day, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s surpasses it’s making cost within the first week.

Shah Rukh Khan’s retirement plan is already sorted! Now the usual age for people ton retire in India is 60 to max 65. Being 51 year old, SRK has a long way to go. However, looks like planning for his retirement has already started. The coolest part about his plan is that it involves Alia Bhatt. Are you slightly shocked? Alia was too when he said that but of course, she was more elated than surprised. In an EXCLUSIVE interview with BollywoodLife, Shah Rukh, Alia and Gauri Shinde got candid and spoke about life, love, advises and a lot of banter! So while our journalist inquired the trio to talk about each other, Khan said something really interesting. He said that his wish after retirement would be to watch films of Alia and Gauri!

Well, it actually started with our journo asking him to comment on him not having watched any of Alia’s films. In fact, despite being at the Udta Punjab screening, the actor couldn’t watch the film. For the same, Alia justified by stating what a big star he is and how he wouldn’t have time to do so and that it doesn’t bother her. However, what Khan said later was something slightly kinky but very witty! “I wanted to have these girls completely raw and untouched to myself. Without having seen any of their previous work or whatever people they are working with. Now that I’ve had them raw, I will go back and revisit all their old films. Funny, isn’t he? The way he started his statement was deliberately said in that way so the dirty minds would start racing. But he sure knows how to cover up for the mess he makes. This answer easily might’ve cheered up both Gauri and Alia from the day’s strenuous promotional hullabaloos. Perhaps, it even might get him out of the media’s hawkeye for his statement on his Dear Zindagi co-star. Their film has released and the occupancy as of now seems quite good. On 20 November Rajinikanth–Akshay Kumar‘s much awaited 2.0 first look launch was held in Mumbai. And it totally lived up to the hype. Akshay Kumar aka Dr Richard’s terrifying first look was revealed, Rajinikanth aka Chitti avatar was out and of course 2.0’s first look official poster. It featured an epic face off between Chitti and Dr Richards. While the poster seemed familiar, the graphics, design and colour theme blew everyone away. Baahubali 2’s first look was also unveiled a month at the MAMI fest. That’s why Bollywoodlife conducted a poll to ask fans whose first look blew them away – 2.0’s or Baahubali 2’s. We finally have the results. While both looks impressed all fans, Thalaiva clearly ruled as 2.0’s first look received 62% votes, nearly twice of Prabhas‘ Baahubali that received only 38% votes. Yes, Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar’s sci-fi film clearly won and impressed fans way more than Baahubali 2’s first look. After all the hype around Bahaubali and 2.0, the later won hands down.

Like we mentioned, even though the 2.0 first look poster seemed familiar, the graphics and design left everyone stumped.  Next to 2.0’s first look launch, Akshay Kumar’s first look as Dr Richards received a phenomenal response on social media as well. All in all 2.0’s first look launch event was a great success. All those attended it got to watch the first motion poster in 3D apart from the 3 three first look posters. The event was attended by the main cast and crew – Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, AR Rahman. Salman Khan also managed to gatecrashe this event

As for Baahubali 2’s first look, the hype around the first look launch was unbelievable. Fans were counting days, and also speculating on what the poster would be like. Finally when the poster was revealed, fans were disappointed as it did not live up to expectations nor the hype around it. The movie stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty. This magnum opus is directed by SS Rajamouli.

Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor says one of the toughest aspects of shooting his upcoming film “Veeram” was that he had to speak in Malayalam, a language he found “extremely difficult.” The historical drama tells the story of Chandu Chekavar, played by Kapoor, an infamous warrior in the 13th century North Malabar. “Veeram” was made simultaneously in Malayalam, Hindi, and in English.

When asked how was it to shoot the film in Malayalam, Kunal told reporters, “It is a very difficult language. Now that I’ve done a film in Malayalam, I think I can do it in any language. We had a really hard time. It was a big challenge for me.” Kunal was speaking at the ongoing 47th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI), where “Veeram” was screened last night.

The “Rang De Basanti” star said shooting the film in three languages meant that the actors also had to tweak their performances slightly.”What is really challenging for all of us is that when you’re acting in three languages, it is not only the language that changes but also a little bit of acting style. There are subtle changes, how you’d say something in Hindi, English or Malayalam is very different.”

The film, directed by Jayaraj, is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” and this was something which instantly got Kunal on board.”When Jayraj sir met me for the film, it was a dream come true for me to get a chance to work with somebody like him. “Even though it might seem it is far removed from our life, it is very close to us. We have had situations in our life where we had to choose between right and wrong and we have chosen wrong sometimes. Then we start justifying that before guilt takes over and we start doing things we never imagined before,” the actor added.

Kunal, 39, said this is the biggest film he has starred in.”I’ve never been on a film set with so many technicians who have worked in such big films and have come in from across the world to make it possible. Be it the make up, music, stunt directors. People from all over the world, with different backgrounds came in, so our common language was just cinema.”

“Veeram” is scheduled to release in January next year.

As if Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech’s wedding was a less starry affair, buzz is that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli will be gracing the do together. Yes! Bombay Times has quoted a source stating, “Virat is Yuvi’s close friend and Anushka is expected to accompany him at the wedding in Chandigarh on November 30. She is on Yuvi’s guest list for sure.” In that case, we don’t see any reason why Anushka would miss this wedding. I mean, haven’t we heard that Anushka gets along with almost everyone from Virat’s friends circle? In fact the other day there was even a scoop which suggested how the Indian Cricket Team is pretty fond of Ms Sharma and totally enjoy her company. So if we consider all of this, we believe Anushka will be certainly ensure she attends this wedding with Virat. And any which ways, she isn’t even busy shooting for any film right now considering last Thursday, she even flew to Chandigarh to spend time with Virat, who’s playing the ongoing Test Series in Mohali. The quirky wedding invites have already been sent out which reveals the couple will have an exotic beach wedding on 2nd December at Siolim  Goa. The Baraat will come at 3:30 pm. The seven vows will be taken at around 5 pm which will be followed by a cocktail party. Of course! You cannot, not have a cocktail party if you are in Goa. Bigg Boss 10 is going to witness not one, but four wild card entries tonight. One of them is Sahil Anand. The film and TV actor, as we all know made his big Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year, which also marked the debut of Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. But before SOTY, Sahil was also a contestant on MTV Roadies 4. Yep, the same season which had Bani J as his co-contestant. So with Bigg Boss 10, Sahil is re-uniting with Bani after almost a decade and we are definitely quite excited to see their face-off yet again.

We got in touch with Sahil couple of hours before he entered the Bigg Boss house and in an EXCLUSIVE conversation he talked about his rapport with Bani, his least favourites and a lot more. Excerpts from the interview:

Karisma Kapoor isn’t working on any film as of now, but she is using her celebrity status for a good cause. She recently launched the third season of USL-Diageo Road to Safety initiative, where we caught up. During our conversation, Lolo talked about motherhood and how her daughter is her biggest fashion critic. Excerpts:

What made you take up this initiative?

This is the second time I’m being associated with the initiative. As young mothers, we are very concerned about children walking on the streets. Children go to school, the bus stops, it’s a matter of concern because people need to be responsible to drive their vehicles properly.

What are the changes that you have undergone post motherhood?

Motherhood completely changes you as a woman and your whole focus becomes your children, which I love and enjoy a lot. So I think these small initiatives which we can be a part of, which also help our children and family, means a lot. In a certain way, yes. It has definitely altered my choices in life. Work is secondary for me as a mom. It’s all about rushing back home and being with my kids. My housemaid was just calling me (laughs). So definitely, it’s a matter of my choice and I choose to do that.

Your daughter is growing up. Have you guys started sharing clothes?

Well, my daughter Samaira is my biggest fashion critic. (Laughs) When I dress up for events, if she doesn’t like what I’m wearing, she will be like, ‘Mom, change these shoes. I really don’t like it.’ She has great fashion sense and she completely participates in everything.

Are you more of a friend to her?

It is very important to be a friend to your kids. We have started to discuss things. Of course, we both have that respect and we both know there are boundaries. But it is very important. Also, it’s because Kareena and I grew up being friends with our parents. So that’s why it has become an important aspect in my behaviour, too.

In the 90s, you would not have to worry too much about how you look, off screen. Today, there’s so much of paparazzi…

(Cuts in) It was a very different style of paparazzi. Very simple and quiet. We would be shooting away in studios and toiling for hours together. Then, there would be these sweet photographers, only eight to ten of them, who would be waiting for hours ki ‘please humein photo de do’. It was a different era and time.

Tabu said that she loved that culture because she could just put oil in her hair and go to the airport without worrying about the fashion policing…

Yeah, exactly! It didn’t matter so much. People would not be writing about what we are wearing in our day to day lives. It was never about fashion only. It was more about performance. Now, it has become an amalgamation of both.

And you have nailed it completely on the fashion circuit. Being from a different time, was it difficult to adjust?

No. You need to grow with the times. Also, the times are moving and the world is coming more together because of technology, media and the Internet. As an actress, as a mother, as a person, as a woman, we have to keep growing. So you have to get used to things like this as well. And I love dressing up. I love wearing new outfits and shoes. So it has been great for me.

Has Samaira ever spoken about becoming an actress?

Well, no! My kids have a very simple home life. We don’t discuss movies all the time. Instead, we are always discussing studies, activities. It’s not a special home or anything different. It’s like any normal child growing up. My kids are really young now so they haven’t made up their minds on anything. I know what your next question would be so, I will answer that, too. Whatever my kids want to do, I will support them. It could be working in the film industry, it might not be. And I will always be okay with my kids’ choices!

Just yesterday Salman Khan took to Twitter to urge his fans to go and watch Dear Zindagi. Considering the film stars his close friend and superstar Shah Rukh Khan, this was inevitable. Along with the request, Salman Khan asked his fans to be wise in order to be healthy and wealthy. Shah Rukh Khan was not far behind and replied in his usual witty manner. He responded, “@BeingSalmanKhan will come over & do a workout before the biryani!”. This is not the first time we are witnessing their bromance. It has been seen time and again in their films and ofcourse on social media. BollywoodLife earlier revealed to you how Dear Zindagi had a Salman Khan connection. In one of the scenes, Alia Bhat, who’s a cinematographer, was asked by her family if she has met Salman Khan. Earlier in Sultan, when Salman Khan was asked if he thinks he is Shah Rukh Khan, to which Salman Khan’s response about Shah Rukh Khan being the King of Romance and how he is a big fan of his, got the maximum cheers.

The film has shown superb growth of around thirty percent on its day two and has earned Rs. 11.25 crore, from Rs. 8.75 crore on its opening day. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, “#DearZindagi shows SUPERB growth on Day 2… Fri 8.75 cr, Sat 11.25 cr. Total: ₹ 20 cr [1200 screens]. India biz.” Not to forget the film has seen a limited release as it was released in just 1200 screens which is very low if one compares it to Shah Rukh Khan’s last three releases. Fan was released in 3450 screens, Dilwale was released in 3150 screens and Happy New Year was released in 3850 screens. The film is doing brisk business worldwide. And its excellent business can be credited to the presence of Shah Rukh Khan in the film. The film is already a hit but Monday will be crucial for the film as that will decide how far the film will go. So far it has piggy backed on the star power of Shah Rukh Khan. From Monday onwards, the acceptance of its content will decide its further collections.

Dear Zindagi released on November 25 is recieving praises from the critics and audiences alike. The film is being praised for its simple yet effective story telling. Alia Bhatt is applauded for being scene stealer and Shah Rukh Khan in the other hand is hailed for being the back bone of the film and is praised for charming his way through everyone’s heart. BollywoodLife in its review had said, “Dear Zindagi will definitely appeal to you if you love slice of life film. A little bit of trimming here and there would have been good, and it is not a typical Bollywood movie. However that shouldn’t stop you from not witnessing one of Alia’s best performances and SRK being his charming best.”

Shahid Kapoor finally kickstarted his Padmavati schedule on November 25. He posted a selfie on Instagram announcing the same two days ago. His properly grown beard and shaped moustache told us that he is all set to get into the Raja Rawal Ratan Singh mode. He has been working day and night to attain the perfect body of a Rajput King, who are known to be well built and bulky. Shahid is the last one to begin shooting. Ranveer Singh, who plays the ruthless warrior Allaudin Khilji in the film, was the first one to begin shooting. Once he completed his schedule, Deepika Padukone joined Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the Mehboob Studios, where the enormous set of Rani Padmavati’s water palace has been erected. As informed earlier, she began her shoot with a traditional Rajasthani dance – ghoomar. On the 9th day of her shoot, Shahid joined her. While nothing is confirmed yet,it’s being said that the dance sequence is going to be one like Dewaani Mastaani from Bajirao Mastaani, where she performed in front of Ranveer Singh. Here the difference will be that she will perform with/for Shahid. Their first scene together was shot yesterday in the afternoon.

The shooting has been stopped for now. Deepika and Shahid will mostly resume their shoot on first December. Talking about working with Deepika for the first time, Shahid said in a recent interview, “In Padmavati, we have a lot of work together and I am really looking forward to working with her. I have been seeing her do some great work, especially in the last few years. She has really upped her game and she’s at her best right now. She’s probably doing better work than many today. So that’s awesome. It’s great that we are working together in a film like Padmavati because it’s a great opportunity for anybody who’s a part of this film. I really feel that Padmavati is going to be a special film.”

Here comes your pre-Christmas gift. Nothing can get better than this news. The trailer of Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees will be out on December 7 and we are jumping with joy. Why you ask? This is Shah Rukh’s most awaited film. We have been waiting to watch Raees since 2015 when the teaser had released. Later we waited for the trailer. So it’s only natural to be so ecstatic to know that the day will soon arrive.

Raees has been in the news for more reasons than one. The fact that it was supposed to clash with Sultan this year was enough to make people talk about it incessantly. The teaser of the film made us extremely interested in the film. We are sure Raees will be one film which will leave all his fans deeply satisfied as SRK gets back to his anti-hero self that we so loved in Darr and Baazigar. He has a knack of going bad in a charming way which makes us even root for a villain. SRK plays a bootlegger in the film and whatever little we saw makes us believe it will be one of his best acts in recent times.

Shah Rukh took a brave decision to not to clash with Salman at the box office since it doesn’t help the industry. He then chose January 26 as the date but again he couldn’t avoid going head on with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil this time. That date is still set but then there’s still time for important decisions. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani had promised two days ago that the announcement for the release date of the trailer of Raees will be done in 48 hours and finally we know the date. We told you about Shah Rukh Khan’s grand plans of releasing the trailer. An insider had quoted to a leading daily, “Shah Rukh and his film’s team wanted to come up with a unique strategy to reach out to as many fans as possible. That’s when they hit upon this idea of streaming trailers directly to the screens. The team is confident that the trailer will catch on with people across the board. A lot of thought has gone into choosing the cities, as the makers want to reach out to people across the country.” So it won’t be just released but live streamed at 9 cities. Trust only Shah Rukh to come up with such a unique promotional strategy.

Synopsis: This film is an intriguing suspense drama mystery and a cop on investigation, played by the very suave Arjun Rampal while Vidya seems to be trapped in a kidnap-murder charge.

Why watch it?  Vidya Balan. Do you need any more reason to watch it? The actress plays Vidya, a school teacher who is accused of kidnapping and murdering her own daughter. She is accused of being the infamous Durga Rani Singh who is wanted by police. Well, if that isn’t enough to convince, watch it for Sujoy Ghosh’s story telling and Arjun Rampal’s investigating cop act looks promising.

In the last dialogue promo we see Vidya collect clues about the disappearance of her daughter while the voiceover says, that some secrets that were buried need to be unraveled now. The secrets are making us curious. Are Vidya and Durga Rani Singh the same people? Or she is against writing a false story like in Kahaani to get to the truth? Does the daughter really exist, or is her existence created to distract the police while she completes her mission?

Thankfully, we just have to wait just for four days to watch Kahaani 2 – Durga Rani Singh. Are you excited?

Shankar’s Robot starring Rajinikanth was made at Rs 150 crore. The director has upped the ante with the film’s sequel, 2.0, at a jaw-dropping Rs 350 cr making it India’s most expensive film ever made. The film that once held that title was the upcoming Baahubali 2, directed by SS Rajamouli (at a whopping Rs 250 cr).

Sequel stats

While 2.0 releases on Diwali next year, Baahubali 2 is set for an April release. While Baahubali 2 is a period film and will be released in three languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu; 2.0 will be released in several languages including Hindi.

Statement of intent

Trade analyst Amul Mohan says, “I have heard that the budget of 2.0 is Rs 350 crore. It’s a big statement of intent from the South industry. We, in Mumbai, are struggling to make movies at a fraction of that amount. But the budget of 2.0 makes sense as the first film was a worldwide success. And when Rajinikanth teams up with Akshay Kumar, you always know it is going to be a bigger player. But having said that, 2.0 is not a big budget film by Hollywood standards. Rs 350 crore, when compared to a Hollywood film, is nothing, given today’s currency exchange rate. B-Town gets left behind

According to Amul, both Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 and Rajinikanth’s 2.0 will be competing with each other. “I genuinely feel that the Tamil and Telugu film industry are at loggerheads with each other. There’s much excitement about Baahubali 2 as it’s releasing in April 2017. It’s Rajamouli vs Shankar and Tamil vs Telugu films, more than anything else. That’s the game and why they have such a great and healthy competition to go and outdo each other with the best kind of effects and pushing the envelope. That’s the reason I feel that the Mumbai film industry is a little behind. We are so busy fighting among ourselves, that we are getting left behind in this whole rat race.”

On a massive scale

Trade analyst and exhibitor Akshaye Rathi adds, “2.0 will be counted as among the most expensive films in India because of its super expensive VFX, robots and all kinds of creatures. Baahubali 2’s landing cost will be Rs 175-180 crore (approx). The makers of 2.0 have scaled up the budget because of the massive combination of Rajinikanth, Akshay, Shankar and AR Rahman — so they have to play at a scale which comes at a cost. Clearly in terms of VFX and technology, it is being aimed as grand in terms of scale, naturally associated with a filmmaker like Shankar, who made the hugely expensive film. Robot was also massive in terms of mounting and scale. Why is 2.0 so expensive?

The makers of the film announced last year that the production cost of the film was expected to be around Rs 350 crore, making it the most expensive film in Indian cinema’s history.

# Bollywood’s Akshay Kumar, who charges around Rs 45 crore per film, plays the villain.

# Several international technicians and experts were roped in for the stunt sequences. A particular fight sequence in the film alone amounted to Rs 20 crore. This fight between Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar is the most thrilling sequence of the film and is part of the climax.

# It took Akshay three hours to put on the make-up and one hour to remove it. He plays Dr Richards who turns into a crow as a result of a wrong experiment. His drastic make-over was created by Hollywood makeup artist Sean Foot (who has earlier worked in James Cameron’s Avatar) cost the producers a hefty Rs 4 crore. # The first look of Rajinikanth and Akshay was revealed in 3-D at an event in Mumbai last week to attract the attention of the national media. The first look launch itself was done on a budget of Rs 6 crores with gigantic LCD screens all round the venue at the mega launch. The marketing of 2.0 is estimated to be around Rs 40 cr.

His favourite contestants in the house so far are Bani J and Manoj Punjabi. Salman Khan and Aamir Khan are one of his favourite actors from India.
