It’s common to take your friends for granted, but we value them only once they are lost or we are posed with a threat of losing them. Niharika (Bharti Kumar), fondly known as Rick experiences this dilemma as the love of her life Harsh (Vishal Gandhi) is about to tie the knot with Tina (Namita Dubey).

Niharika and Harsh are childhood buddies who connect over their passion for filmmaking. Due to unavoidable circumstances Niharika leaves for Kolkata. She is shocked when Harsh discloses his secret love relation and engagement plans. Niharika, who was unsure about her feelings for Harsh earlier is shaken to the core at learning about the loss of her love. However, being his best friend Niharika attends the engagement, but the feelings begin to eat into her mind and heart.

When Harsh introduces his fiancée Tina to Niharika, she realizes that his girl is head-over-heels in love with him and won’t let go of her love. But Niharika is not one to give up either; she starts plotting against Tina and creates misunderstandings between them.

Akshaye Khanna was all set to make his big comeback on the silver screen with Dev Benegal’s directorial venture Bombay Samurai co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Farhan Akhtar. In fact, the talented actor was to play a baddie in this one but turns out he is no longer part of the film. We hear the Dil Chahta Hai actor was shown door by the makers because he demanded changes in the script and was interfering a bit too much. Now that’s sad coz this is the only film Akshaye had on his plate. While talking to a leading tabloid, a source said, “Since it was his comeback film, he was not leaving any stone unturned to get this role right. After reading the script, Akshaye discussed his role once again with the film’s makers and he then asked for some changes. Now the filmmakers want to rope in Irrfan instead but his dates are not available as of now.”

“It reached a point where too many changes were being asked to be made in the script,” further added the source.

In that case, we’ll have to wait a little longer before we see Akshaye Khanna back on 70mm! Let’s hope he does away with his interfering attitude or else we’ll have to wait for eternity, no?

Ever since the society ladies announced the best couple competition, the married couple has been coming closer

Qubool Hai recently witnessed Aahil (Karanvir Bohra) and Sanam (Surbhi Jyoti) trying to learn more about each other. While Sanam happily narrated about her child, Aahil doesn’t want to discuss it. He warns Sanam to not probe into his past, but after witnessing Aahil’s nightmares – she decides to find out the truth about his childhood.

In addition to that, Tanveer (Amrapali Gupta) poisons Aahil’s mind against Sanam by telling her son that his contract wife is faking emotions, care and concern just for more money. In the upcoming episode, Aahil will find the hunter that Sanam discovered from the attic. Seeing that, he believes everything that Tanveer tells him. He lashes out at Sanam for digging through his past in spite of him telling her not to do so. In his anger, Aahil will break the dream house Sanam built for the couple’s competition.

Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan’s Khoobsurat maybe called a remake of the 1980 Hrishikesh Mukherjee classic starring Rekha and Rakesh Roshan but the similarities sort of end on paper

Once you watch the film you’d realise that the makers of Khoobsurat have gone beyond the original, telling the same story in a novel way, keeping the essence of the original intact but treating it like a contemporary fairy-tale. Here are five differences we spotted between the original and the new-age Khoobsurat…

Sonam Kapoor is not Rekha

And we don’t mean it in a negative sense. Sonam has played a misfit but she is a lot more spunky, funky and peppy than Rekha. We welcomed the change because Rekha’s character from the original would have been a bit old-fashioned for today’s time. Sonam as Mili is also more real and every girl of any age-group would associate with her character.

Fawad Khan is not Rakesh Roshan

And thank god for that! Not that we didn’t adore Roshan in the original we were spell bound by Fawad in the latest version. Rakesh didn’t play the most important role in Hrishida’s Khubsurat but unlike him Fawad isn’t a second fiddle. Without him, Khoobsurat wouldn’t have been so delightful…

The production value

Most definitely, Khoobsurat is grander than the original. While Rekha’s film depicted the story of a middle class family, the new-age Khoobsurat deals with a royal family. It is not a surprise either because glittery extravagance didn’t come as easily to Bollywood back in the 80′s as it does now. With its mansions, its scenic backdrops and expensive outfits, Sonam-Fawad’s Khoobsurat looks aesthetically and commercially appealing.

Manju is not the same

Rekha played the role of Manju in the Hrishida film while Kirron Kher plays the role of Sonam’s mother, Manju in the remake. And the new Manju isn’t half as garrulous or loud-mouthed like the old one. As much as we loved Rekha shaking things up in the Gupta household in the original film, we are leaning a little bit more toward Kirron for sweeping us off out feet with her ‘typical Punjabi mummy’ act!

The matriarch has also changed

Like the original which had Dina Pathak playing the matriarch of the Gupta family, this remake has Ratna Pathak Shah playing boss at a royal household running a dysfunctional family on the side. While Dina Pathak’s strict disciplinary ways weren’t given a back-story, Ratna’s austere principles come with a reason. You will have to watch the film for that…

All these differences from the original make Sonam and Fawad’s Khoobsurat worth a watch. Our advice is that you don’t miss this one!

The dishy dude will not leave any opportunity to showcase his dancing skills and that’s exactly what happened during the recent promotion of his film

Shahid Kapoor and his co-star from Haider – Shraddha Kapoor were at a mall to promote their upcoming film.

Shahid teamed up with Shiamak Davar’s dancing troop and put out a spectacular performance.

Obviously, when Shahid is dancing it’s not easy to match steps with him, but we believe Shraddha tried her level best. Considering Haider has no connection with dance, we wonder what was Shiamak even doing there. Not that we mind – ‘çoz it’s a treat to watch the dishy dude dance, right peeps?

Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate is back with the season 3 and promises to bring with it some more interesting issue based subjects that may or may not help us. The recent promo showcases a man walking in to submit some official papers. Looking at the long queue, he beckons a peon and promises him a handsome amount to help him to get first in line.

The peon scans him top to bottom and advises to his to get free on Sunday as  Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate is starting again at 11 am. An interesting way to put it, but mumkin hai (it’s possible), right BollywoodLifers?

Hrithik is currently happy and content in his space as an actor, but when the time is right and if he has a subject, he may go behind the camera to direct a film

However, Hrithik Roshan says “it will take time”.

His father Rakesh Roshan is a successful director and producer of films like Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and the Krrish series. Does Hrithik see himself branching into these fields in future? Well, the actor didn’t rule it out when he asked this. ”I’m going to be living till I’m 90 years old. I’m going to be absolutely unstoppable and my service to the world will go on to the last breath of mine. Having said that, directing a film is may be…all I can say is, something has started,” Hrithik said.

He finds it to be a difficult process. ”To direct is not just to make a film. You have to be a leader, like a CEO of a company, or say like my dad! He’s incredible, he’s a boss who’s also a worker…and there’s a lot that goes as far as a director are concerned. But I’m a man who loves challenges….I don’t like to live in fear. So maybe in time, I will be directing,” he added.

During a later media briefing, the 40-year-old contemplated on the matter again and questioned: “I have a father who’s the best director in the world. Why will I ever not want to be directed by the best director in the world and take it in my hands?”

Nevertheless, he went on to say: “Maybe someday if I have a subject and I take his (my father’s) advice and guidance and if he feels it’s the right time for me and if I feel it’s the right time for me, and my uncle (Rajesh Roshan) is equally inspired, then maybe they will all back me and push me for it. But it will take time.”

As of now, his entire focus is on Bang Bang, his big ticket film, slated to release Octover 2. ”Right now, Bang Bang is releasing and it just reaffirms the fact that I’m pretty okay at what I’m doing…so I can last a few more years doing what I’m doing.”

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is impressed with the trailer of Kill Dil

The 71-year-old actor took to Twitter to heap praise on the cast of the film, which includes Ranveer Singh,Parineeti Chopra, Ali Zafar and Govinda, and director Shaad Ali.

“Saw Shaad Ali‘s trailer of ‘KILL DIL’ .. fascinating cast and fascinating visuals .. innovative Shaad, will do justice to this !!” Bachchan tweeted. The official trailer of the romantic-drama film, produced by Aditya Chopra, shows the main four characters in crazy, wild avatars as they indulge in heavy action and mouth quirky dialogues. And we’ll agree with the veteran actor.

The movie is all set to release on November 14, this year.

Kaley Cuoco has revealed that she made a joke about her nude photo leak to take control of the bad situation

The 28-year-old actor, who is married to the tennis player Ryan Sweeting, said that one needs to “make fun of oneself” to deal with situation like this, reported a popular news agency. “It was just a really bad situation,” she said. “But, I took it in my own hands and made a joke about it because, you know, what are you gonna do?” The Big Bang Theory star, who took an initiative to send an email to her family to explain about the situation and that she wasn’t pregnant or getting divorced, added that she made a joke of it by posting funny photo of herself on Instagram.

Cuoco, who had been receiving “Kaley Cuoco nude photos alerts” for years, continued that when her naked photo got leaked she thought it to be another fake one, but later found out there were some real ones going around.

Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan says his two grandsons Hrehaan and Hridhaan want to follow in the footsteps of their father Hrithik Roshan and become actors

The 65-year-old actor-turned-director is the son of renowned Bollywood music composer Roshanlal Nagrath and he says it would be nice to have his grandsons join the film industry and keep the Roshan legacy going.

“Before joining films Hrithik assisted me in a few films. Now Rajesh’s (Roshan) son is assisting me… we have another Roshan coming up. Then we have Hrehaan and Hridhaan. When I ask them what you want to do, they instantly say actors. So the Roshan’s are there and they will be there,” Rakesh said.

The Krrish 3 helmer was in the capital on Friday night to attend the CII Big Picture Summit where he along with his son Hrithik and music director brother Rajesh Roshan were felicitated for their contribution to Indian cinema. Rakesh revealed that he is currently working on a script, which will see him reunite with Hrithik again after directing his son in films like Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish and Krrish 3. ”Very soon you will see us together again. I am working on a script. I was looking out for a script for some time now. I hope it comes out well and we will soon begin working on it,” Rakesh said, adding that it will not be a continuation of the Krrish franchise.

The Narula brothers, Achin and Sarthak, became the first ever contestants to win the highest prize of Rs 7 crore in reality game show ‘ Kaun Banega Crorepati’, hosted by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan

The Narula brothers, who hail from Delhi, emerged victorious after answering all the 14 questions correctly with the help of four lifelines. Achin is a marketing manager and Sarthak is a student. Achin has been trying to be a part of the iconic show for the last 10 years but always fell short of being selected for the fastest finger first contest.

Bachchan, 71, hinted about the big win on his official blog and Twitter handle while posting his pictures from the show. He wrote, “It is a topsy turvy world tonight and KBC is the one that needs to be blamed!! What incredible moments, what brilliance and what an incredible play..! That is all I am permitted to say.

“The beauty and the excitement of KBC at its very maximum! Just an incredible moment,” Bachchan tweeted, followed by a photograph from the sets of the show featuring the winners. “Bazuumbaaa,” the actor posted along with the snap adorned with the Rupee symbol.”Bachchan, who has been hosting the show for 14 years, was reportedly speechless as the brothers made it to the top prize. Siddhartha Basu, who is the producer of the show, said the jackpot win was a moment to cherish. We have been waiting for a moment like this since the inception of this show. It is a pleasure to see bright brains like Achin and Sarthak battle it out for the Maha Jackpot.”

Gaurav Seth, Senior Vice President Marketing, Sony Entertainment Television called the win a “momentous occasion” while congratulating the brothers on their win.

The director-producer turns 65-year-old today

Born on September 20, 1949, Mahesh Bhatt didn’t really have an eventful birthday this year, but it was very special. His darling daughter and the latest sensation of Bollywood – Alia Bhatt celebrated daddy’s birthday with his favourite Aloo fry (potato fry).

Alia took to social networking sites and tweeted, “Birthday dinner with Mahesh Bhatt and Aloo Fry !!! His favourite thing in the whole wide world ” The starlet further added, “Happy birthday to my gorgeous father ! We celebrate at home with his fav food – ALOO FRY !!! Love you…” She then tweeted and instagramed Mahesh Bhatt’s photograph devouring the aloo fry. What a candid moment, indeed!

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 has finally come to an end

The winner of season seven is the intense, hot and dishy Ashish Sharma.

Somehow we always knew that the Rangrasiya actor would win – not that the others weren’t good enough, but our sixth sense just knew it.

In his first week itself, Ashish was declared as the chuparustam (sneaky) dancer. He came as an underdog but with every episode, he became better. Ashish and his choreographer worked really hard; juggling with the shoot of Rangrasiya and his personal life – things did get very tough, but our hero didn’t utter a single complaint.

According to Ashish, his best performance till date was his emotional act on the song Tadap tadap from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. It’s his personal favourite and we agree. BollywoodLife congratulates Ashish and hope he continues dancing at every opportunity he gets, like he promised.
