In tonight’s episode Bigg Boss asks Ali Quli Mirza to do the Judgement Day task. Ali has to pick one contestant who he wants to be punished. And guess who Ali picks? Praneet Bhat. We believe the real reason behind Ali’s choice is the fact that Praneet supported Gautam Gulati in his arguments.

Bigg Boss orders Praneet to wash hundreds of dirty plates, with leftover food in them. Praneet as a sport takes up the challenge stands for an hour washing utensils while Ali who nominates him does not have any regrets, and keeps making fun of him instead. Karishma Tanna, Arya Babbar and RJ Pritam keep supporting and encouraging him.

Praneet, who is upset, puts up a brave face and completes the task. After a while, Ali starts feelings bad but it’s a decision he cannot take back and hence lets it go. However, his realisation does not stop him from talking about Praneet. Ali claims that he punished Praneet because, he use to sleep a lot during the day in spite of multiple warnings.

Now we are waiting to see how Praneet will retaliate and take revenge for this in the future.

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Happy New Year arrived on Friday and it has been tagged as fully masaledaar entertainer, has blockbuster written all over it and is visually appealing

Happy New Year, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah, had a bumper opening, says a trade analyst.

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines said, “It had bumper opening. The occupancy was 80 percent at most places. The opening weekend collection will be really good because of holiday. Let’s see if it will be able to maintain the figures from Monday onwards.”

Produced by Shah Rukh‘s Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the Farah Khan directorial is a heist drama and the team was seen travelling from city to city to promote the film. “Loved and enjoyed HNY’ at the dubai grand premiere and a fun after party @TheFarahKhan @iamsrk @deepikapadukone @juniorbachchan,” ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra tweeted.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta said that it is a “definite earner. It will make money for everybody. The movie got great opening all over the country. It is one of the best openings ever,” he added.

Another trade expert Amod Mehra called it superhit. “Indiawale finally decide who is the Khan of Khans.. FARHA KHAN.. Superhit..,” he added.

Multiplexes too are overwhelmed with the footfall. “‘Happy New Year’ has taken a cracker of an opening. The fact that it’s the solo release of the week has added to the fun. This could well be the film that will take the highest opening ever,” said Ashish Saksena, COO Big Cinemas.

Anant Verma, director and business head DT Cinemas, is delighted with the “exceptional advance bookings” despite the Diwali rush. ”The reviews and patron feedback is also encouraging. I am quite hopeful that we are looking at one of the biggest earners till date,” he added

If ‘Eajy lagta hai Mohini ka dance’ was something to go by, be sure to be amazed by this actress’s earnest performance throughout the film. Yes, she doesn’t know how to speak Englis! (yes that’s how she pronounces it) and she might not understand how it is to be ladylike, But you lose your heart to Mohini who only desires to achieve one thing in life – getting ijjat from everyone. From her Maharashtrian twang to her English dialogues, from her emotional scenes to her spectacular dance acts, Ms Padukone has hit the right chord.

Shah Rukh Khan’s crackling screen presence:

Nuanced, inhibited and subtle, SRK sparkles as Charlie. Chiseled body, rock-solid abs, some extremely powerful action sequences and not allowing his starry aura overshadow the other stars, SRK does it in a way, different from all his contemporaries. In an industry where ensemble films are generally edited to benefit a certain superstar in the film, SRK keeps his ground and makes sure HNY comes across as a team effort and not just another SRK-Deepika film! But yet in the ensemble, Shah Rukh manages to blend in effortlessly, putting in a striking performance.

With a huge canvas set for a film of such a stature, each frame is filled with a lot of grandiose and magnificent shots. The opening shot itself gives you a hint of what can be expected from the film. The entire heist is well tackled and the supporting characters contribute equally to the film. While Boman Irani marvels with his single 50 year old Parsi demeanour, Vivaan Shah comes across as a treasured find to the industry. Sonu Sood flaunts his fab body and makes sure that it’s not the only thing about him that catches the eye. But it is definitely Abhishek Bachchan who steals the show with his naughty Nandu, his snake dances and all the exuberance!

The film’s comic and action scenes:

Farah Khan keeps the story simple, and fills in the run time with some amazingly played out comical as well as action sequences! While the introduction of the characters are amusing, the fight sequence between Sonu Sood and the goons is hilarious. But undoubtedly, it is Abhishek Bachchan‘s strip-tease scene that packs in the loudest cheers from the audience! The cameo appearances, especially the Anurag Kashyap-Vishal Dadlani spoof is rip-roaring! While the film scores really high on the comic scenes, the action sequences are equally well shot. The entire heist has been planned well and director Farah Khan deserves the loudest applause for the same!

The spirit of the film:

Replete with comic and action scenes, the film celebrates the spirit of India like no other. There are occasions when a few sequences bring in a sense of pride and a wide smile on your face. Although it is a dance-heist film, Farah has effectively let the heart rule out the technique. You might not like the way the Indiawaale team dances because they can’t dance. But it is the heart, soul and morale that ups the fun quotient in the film. In a country where the bhashan dance, the Ganpati dance or the dhunuchi celebrates the happiness of dancing more than the technicalities, Farah Khan uses the platform of her film to bring out a triumphant story of the ‘Dil-se wala dance‘ to the ‘technique wala dance’. And surely, each Indiawaale today must be proud for the same.

Long running TV show Pavitra Rishta, which will come to an end on October 25, has put together an entertaining finale episode which will see a plethora of actors shaking their legs to hit numbers

In the recent episodes, the focus was on the ups and downs in Ankita and Naren’s life. But now it is time for their marriage and the celebration will see a bevy of TV actors setting the stage on fire with their dance moves.

Reel and real life couple Asha Negi and Rithvik Dhanjani will perform on romantic songs like Chaand chhupa baadal mein and Ram chahe leela, while the team of Mishkat Verma and Kaanchi Singh will dance on peppy numbers Band baaja baraat and London thumakda, said a statement.

Dance India Dance stars Sanam and Moheena, will groove to Lovely, Tu meri and Bang bang. Ankita and Naren will join the celebrations too — they will perform on Sunona sangemarmar.

Pavitra Rishta went on air in 2009 with Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput as the lead pair. In 2011, Sushant exited the show to pursue big screen dreams.

Kushal Tandon shocked the masses when he recently announced his break-up with Gauhar Khan on Twitter. However, the former Bigg Boss contestants have patched-up again. In an interview with a daily, Kushal has clarified thaht it was just a fight and they are still a couple. “Mujhe gussa bohot aata hai – I am an angry young Punjabi man! But mera gussa khatam bhi ho jata hai jaldi. Main dil ka saaf hoon and I am a straightforward guy . And to be frank, people love me for this attitude as they know that I am still a child,” says the TV actor.

“Gauahar is a very nice girl. I always loved her and I still love her, and she loves me too. All is well between us now. Ek relationship mein ladai hoti hai, gussa aata hai, break-up hota hai and then patch up bhi ho jata hai. Yeh mere aur Gauahar ke beech mein ladai thi,” he further added.

After flooring the critics and viewers alike with it’s intense yet dark treatment, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider got the honour of being screened in front of world media at Rome Film Festival.

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s father reveals why he doesn’t intend to remake Raj Kapoor’s classic

Actor-director Randhir Kapoor says he will never remake RK Films’ superhit movie Awara because nobody can step into the shoes of legendary actors Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor. Randhir, 67, who last directed Henna in 1991, said he thought of remaking his father’s classic once but left it in the middle.

“People have often asked me to do a remake of Awara with Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. When I took the idea few steps forward, we all got scared. Where will we get another Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor? Where will I get composers like Shankar-Jaikishen? Lyricists like Shailendra? And also the dream sequences in the film. I am not in favour of making remakes,” Randhir said.

The Housefull actor said next year they will start a new project under RK Films banner, whose last outing was Aishwarya Rai starrer Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999). “It’s my fault. Due to my laid back attitude, the project is getting delayed. By next year we will start a new film under the RK banner,” he said.

Asked about the genre of his upcoming venture, Randhir said, “We will make a good film which people will want to watch and get entertained by. May be on the lines of Kal Aaj Aur Kaal.” Randhir would be next seen in Super Nani opposite Bollywood diva Rekha. The film will hit theatres on October 31.

The character artist was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubahi Ambani Hospital due to lung infection

Versatile actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar, who has been hospitalised at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH) here, is now on life support ventilator and his condition is critical, says his daughter Reema Amrapurkar.

“He is on life support ventilator now but his condition is critical. However, his body is responding well to the ventilators. He suffered from lung infection a few weeks back following which he was hospitalized at Kokilaben hospital,” Reema Amrapurkar told media.

The 64-year-old was hospitalised two weeks ago and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.

He is known for his performances in Sadak, Ardh Satya amongst others.

The Bollywood superstar spills the beans about his upcoming films

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose latest release Happy New Year has kept the cash register ringing, says he agreed to do Maneesh Sharma’s Fan because he wanted to do a cosy film which is intense yet commercially viable.

“As an actor, I feel that having done a big film, Happy New Year, I wanted to do a cosy film which is intense and yet commercially viable. Maneesh came out of the blue and he reminded me of a subject he had narrated eight years ago,” the 48-year-old told reporters in a group interview.

“I was sitting with Adi (Aditya Chopra) and instantly agreed because I was in a happy state of mind,” he added.

Shah Rukh also says that he is not sure if Fan will cross Rs. 200 crore mark but he is happy to do the film.

“I don’t know whether the film (Fan) will do Rs 200 crores business or not, but I have to be in a similar state of mind as the director who wants to cast me. Five years back, a film I was supposed to do got cancelled and I called Ashutosh (Gowariker) and Ramu (Gopal Verma) but no one had any film for me. The timing has to be right. What restricts my choice of films is the directors – they are the ones who cast me,” said King Khan who has reunited with his Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanti Om director Farah Khan for his latest release Happy New Year.

“I do one film at a time which everyone does. But right now I am doing two films. I would have liked to wait for two months after Happy New Year, but I have already finished a 20-day schedule for Fan. Thereafter, Raees will be over in 60-70 days if it goes as per plan,” he said.

Anil Kapoor’s son will be making his debut in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirza

As an attempt to explore new talent, actor Anil Kapoor has reportedly roped in fresh face to direct his son Harshvardhan‘s second film. The movie will be co-produced by his daughter Rhea Kapoor.

“Anil Kapoor wants to explore new talents and has roped in a new director to direct his son Harshvardhan’s second film,” said a source close to the project.

This film will be the actor’s second film as he will be launched by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in Mirza.

“This film was supposed to go on floors before Khoobsurat but since Harshvardhan was preparing himself for Mirza, this film was delayed. Now the entire cast and crew will head to the US next week where this film will be widely shot,” added the source.

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Khoobsurat featured Sonam Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Kirron Kher and Ratna Pathak Shah.

As you will already know, the makers of Bigg Boss 8 have introduced this new concept wherein they call former contestants to interact with the current ones every week. While last week it was Gauhar Khan, who gave a heavy dose to the housemates, this week, it will be Bigg Boss season 6 winner Urvashi Dholakia.

While giving her opinion on the current contestants, Urvashi called Upen Patel boring. She called Karishma Tanna confused and blamed Arya Babbar for not putting across his opinion and using his mind.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose latest Diwali release Happy New Year has opened to good response at box office, is down with cold and fever.

The 48-year-old actor took to Twitter to share the news about his illness with his fans.

“Down with cold and fever. Can’t smell a thing, not even the success. Can see it… feel it… read it… waiting to smell it! Thanks all for loving HNY,” Shah Rukh wrote on his Twitter page.

The Myna girl celebrates her first birthday since her marriage to director AL Vijay

Actress Amala Paul, who turned 23 Sunday, is excited about a gift her filmmaker-husband AL Vijay has presented her. Currently in Macau on a holiday, she says “it’s the best gift a woman could ever wish for”.

Rumour has it that Amala, who married Vijay in June this year, is pregnant.

“Time flies n we get older every year. N me too, one more year today. Be careful what you wish for coz u might get it. I wasn’t careful but I got whatever I wished for. My Vijay gave me the best gift a woman could ever wish for (sic),” Amala tweeted Sunday.

“Not only the surprise he gave me now at Macau but the deepest of love and affection he gives me every day. I don’t know what to say but one thing for sure, am blessed a child!!! Thank u Lord (sic),” she added.

Amala is currently busy shooting for Malayalam film Lailaa O Lailaa.

A fan made statue was unveiled at a theatre here in Chennai

Fans of Tamil actor Vijay Sunday unveiled a wax statue of their star at a theatre here. The statue was sponsored by Facebook Vijay Fans Club.

Members of the club Sunday unveiled the statue, reportedly worth about Rs 1.5 lakh, at the Vettri theatre here.

The actor is riding high on the blockbuster success of Tamil actioner Kaththi, which released Oct 22. It raked in over Rs 30 crore in its opening weekend worldwide.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Kaththi also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the female lead.

Superstar host Salman Khan was in his full nonchalant avatar on Bigg Boss 8 sets on Sunday. The actor who has a keen interest in singing was seen jamming with music composers Sajid-Wajid.

At the weekend special episode of Bigg Boss 8, Salman had good friends and composers Sajid-Wajid as guests on the show. Knowing Salman’s antics on the show, it was not a surprise when he joined the music composers to sing a medley together, of a few of his super hit tracks. From the Partner title track, Mashaallah from Ek Tha Tiger and Mora Jiya from Dabangg, Salman had his audiences look at him in awe.

Salman also revealed that, the famous Bigg Boss track was also composed by Sajid Wajid and it took merely 15 minutes for them to come up with this groovy track. Salman had previously sung the Hangover number from his recently released Kick and now the audience will get to see him live on stage tonight!
