Too much is happening in the Bigg Boss house this week. Right from Priya Mallik and Mandana Karimi fighting to Keith Sequeira and Rochelle Rao having trouble in their paradise. Since Suyyash Rai and Nora Fatehi got evicted from the house last week, a lot of equations have changed in the last few days.

Latest we hear is that Keith Sequeira, Rochelle Rao, Rishabh Sinha and Priya Malik are the fresh contestants making it to the nominations list this week that took place last evening. The housemates were required to nominate contestants by writing the desired names on footballs and throwing them out of the house. This was one unique way of nominating a fellow contestant.

Meanwhile Mandana and Priya are constantly at loggerheads creating nuisance in the house. At the time of nominations Priya managed to irk not only Mandana but also the other housemates, thanks to her habit of interrupting others and making undesirable comments. From name calling to accusations of theft to taunting each other about their families to continuously yelling, things are going from bad to worse. If abusing Priya in the morning wasn’t enough for Mandana, she taunted Priya by singing, “chhoti, chhoti, moti, moti, cycle,” during the nominations.

Looks like just before the season finale too much is happening on the show!

Old lovers, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor truly make a memorable pair.

Now, who wouldn’t agree to that. But since their break up about a decade ago, since then we are only hoping that these two work together again. Our prayers sort of got answered when the Haider actor and his ex lover Kareena Kapoor Khan signed a same film with an interesting premise.

Reports also came out that how Shahid actually recommended Bebo’s name to the makers as he thought that she would fit very well into the character. Though, it was made clear form the beginning that Kareena and Shahid won’t have scenes together. But, there is one scene though where you would see these two in one frame, yes! An entertainment website reported that though a decade has passed since their very public break up, they have maintained a safe distance from each other. And were even reportedly uncomfortable shooting with each other. So, they shot for the scene at different time but it looks as if they are in the same frame.

This is an important year for Kareena Kapoor Khan as she has two important movies, Ki and Ka and Udta Punjab coming up. Also, after Shahid Kapoor’s Shaandaar debacle the actor is really banking on Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon and Udta Punjab.

And no, the hell will not break loose this time around!

We know Rishi Kapoor to be a motor mouth, especially on social media. His jibes, insults, supposedly ‘harmless and funny’ birthday wishes on the micro blogging site have always been in a lot news. And after his infamous birthday wish for Twinkle Khanna, any celeb would be a little sceptical of Chintuji’s tweets.

Today happens to be Deepika Padukone’s birthday. So, understandably the grapevine went into a tizzy after seeing that Rishi has taken to Twitter yet again to wish Dippy! Well, this excitement was obviously because Ms Padukone was in a serious relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. Deepika’s fans can chill coz papa Kapoor actually had very sweet things to say about the Bajirao Mastani actress on Twitter. Even though Deepika did not exactly have a very amicable break up with Ranbir, and then she got into a teensy-weensy problem with Rishi coz of her candid statements over his son’s escapades, Rishi has seemed to moved on! Dippy and Ranbir too let bygones remain bygones as she did too successful films with him: Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and now, Tamasha. So, it is indeed what they say about relationships in the B-town, nothing is permanent!

The sci-fi zombie thriller is set to hit the screens soon this year.

Hollywood brought the dead to life with George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead in 1968. Bollywood made a debut in this thriller niche with the 2013 comedy film Go Goa Gone. Now, it looks like the zombie fever has gripped K-town too. Presenting the first ever zombie movie in Tamil, Jayam Ravi starrer Miruthan. Jayam Ravi and Lakshmi Menon are playing the leads. This high octane thriller is being directed by Shakthi Soundara Rajan. Famous composer Imaan provides music for this film.

The trailer looks very promising,exciting and has the horror elements that can make the movie special. Jayam Ravi’s tough and macho avatar is awesome to behold. The zombies look lithe, agile and downright terrifying. The actions scenes look excellently choreographed, even though the graphics don’t seem up to par. Seeing Jayam Ravi standing on top of a van surrounded by zombies with his shotgun cocked will surely give you goosebumps. The glimpse of an infected dog is a nod to the Resident Evil franchise which popularized zombie dogs.

While the action and adrenaline works for Miruthan, the obsession to stick to a love story is kinda sad. The rather forced romance track might hamper the story line and is very off-putting for fans of story oriented films. Only the actual movie will shed light on whether Lakshmi Menon has a major role or if she will just waltz in a couple of songs before vanishing from the movie completely.

Even though the trailer isn’t a match for Hollywood directed zombie flicks, Miruthan is a brave and bold attempt to break Kollywood stereotypes and push forward towards more innovative, story centric movies.

Dippy is among the highest paying actresses in the Indian film industry

Deepika Padukone’s birthday became twice as merry with the news of her remuneration coming into play. The actress, who has turned 30 today, is in reports to have increased her remuneration after the smashing success of her film Bajirao Mastani. Can you guess how much will she be charging for all the awesome sauce efforts she puts in? Rs 15 crore!

While this number may make your jaw hit the floor, we hear that many of the Bollywood actresses are not even close to what the actress earns. With a hike in her remuneration and a Hollywood film in her pipeline, Deepika sure is going to have a fantastic year ahead.

Deepika’s close friend Priyanka Chopra in an interview EXCLUSIVELY revealed how biased our industry is when it comes to paying female actors. “Whenever I say that, everyone is like, ‘Yeh purana ho gaya’. I don’t talk about payments; my art is too deep for me. I work so much that I am not apologetic about what I get paid. Everybody should be compensated for the work they do and remuneration is meant for that!” she said.

Apology unaccepted

Rochelle and Mandana apologised to Priya for stealing her stole, Priya accepts Rochelle’s apology, but not Mandana’s. Rishabh tells Mandana not to expect an apology as she has made friends in the house only for her own benefit. However, Prince takes Mandana’s side and tells Priya to accept her apology, giving her the reason that he is certain that Priya has also been mean in the past.

The new task 

The first task of the ‘Road to Finale’ week was announced today. Keith is the sanchalak and the other housemates are provided with funnels full of sand which they have to prevent from falling off the funnel and save till the end of the task. They are allowed to attack others and break their funnels with the help of a lever placed at the bottom. The three housemates who will have most number of sand left in their containers will move to the next level of the game.

Mandana the target

The housemates vented their ire on Mandana by making her the first target, trying to reduce her sand. Angered, Mandana breaks Rochelle’s lever and blames Rishabh for this. Kishwer tells Mandana on her face that other housemates do not consider her as a competition and that she does not deserve to win the show. Rishabh also  says that it was a stupid decision that he took to support Mandana all this while.

Priya gets physical

After Mandana, Priya gets targeted by the rest. Priya taunts Prince and others to stop attacking in herds and play their individual games. In the commotion, she also twists Mandana’s hands, as the latter complains that Priya is getting physical. She gives the same treatment to Rochelle later, as the girl cries for help! When the task for the day ends, both Priya and Rochelle display talk about their injuries to Bigg Boss. Kishwer tells Mandana that the game is not over yet and she will not leave any opportunity to harm her further. Keith consoles Rochelle when she feels upset about Priya having attacked her in spite of Rochelle staying off of Priya’s funnel.

The aftermath 

Kishwer confesses to Rishabh that Rochelle might not be friendly with her anymore and she will attack her in the task the next day. Priya asks Rishabh if he ever thought she was being violent. She reveals to him that she would only attack nominated contestants the next day so that she gets saved from being ousted. When they join the rest, the other housemates taunt Priya for groupism with Rishabh. Priya and Prince get into an argument when he sees that the next day will have Priya see the real Prince.

Amitabh Bachchan is all set to appear as a physically handicapped genius in Bejoy Nambiar’s Wazir alongside Farhan Akhtar. Amitabh has played a variety of characters over the span of years of his career including an Alzheimer’s ridden sign language teacher, a progeric 14 year old kid, a Jinn and so on.

One genre that he gave a miss is a sports-film. He has never played a sports person or done a sports movie. Seeing Amitabh Bachchan as an athletic sport star, giving those uplifting pep talks in a locker room might have been the sexiest sight for the fans. And more over if it was a movie based on cricket, a sport that has the cult status of a religion in our country, the movie would have had a standing like Sholay. But worry not, if you want to see Big B in the avatar of a cricketer, as we found this rare pic of Mr Bachchan gearing up for a cricket match.

Bejoy Nambiar and Manav Kaul enjoyed working with each other in the action thriller

Manav Kaul is sure a versatile actor. He is all set to prove his acting chops with his two upcoming roles in two very prominent films, one in Jai Gangaajal alongside Priyanka Chopra and in Wazir alongside Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan.In an exclusive interview, and without divulging much details, Manav gave an insight on his character he is playing in Wazir. “It’s one of those very key roles in the films. I’m really dying for people to see the film. At least then I can talk openly about the role” he said. “I play Izaad Qureshi. He is from Kashmir. He is very firm, he is sleek, talks less” he added.

He also professed his love for grey characters and that he loves to play such roles. “In Wazir it’s a very firm role. I feel in Wazir Izaad Qureshi is the hero of the film. It’s a very layered character and very rarely you see a character a grey character with a lot layering. I love to perform such role as an actor.” he said.

When asked about his experience working with Bejoy Nambiar, director of Wazir, he said “Me and Bejoy somehow struck a very interesting actor-director chord, very nicely. We kind of complement each other. I love his passion. He is the most passionate director I’ve seen on sets. He is glued to the monitor all the time.” After Wazir, Bejoy and Manav are set to join hands again for yet another film, which is taking shape fantastically.

Wazir releases day after and stars Farhan Akhtar, Amitabh Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and John Abraham.

Ambattur industrial estate will feature in the Tollywood Prince’s upcoming movie

Looks like the Telugu superstar’s current project whose shooting is in progress will take him further South to the recently flood ravaged Chennai.

The makers of superstar Mahesh Babu-starrer Telugu family drama “Brahmotsavam” will film a crucial scene in the city’s popular Ambattur industrial estate early next week, a source said.

“The makers were on the lookout for a location with a factory as the backdrop. They wanted to shoot a key scene and they couldn’t afford the time to build a factory set. When they learnt about Ambattur industrial estate, they decided to shoot here,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS. The scene will feature Mahesh Babu and Sathyaraj, the source said, adding that the shoot will last a “few hours”.

Directed by Srikanth Addala, the film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Pranitha Subhash in important roles. Produced by PVP Cinema, the film has music by Mickey J Meyer.

Chennaities will surely be very excited to see the handsome Tollywood star in action as his fan-base is all around the country. Brahmotsavam is scheduled to be released on April 29 this year.

Here is something you don’t see everyday. Y films have launched a new and amazingly adorable single of India’s first transgender band called Hum Hain Happy. Interestingly, the 6 member band go by the name the 6 Pack Band and the six artists are: Asha Jagtap, Bhavika Patil, Chandni Suvarnakar, Fida Khan, Komal Jagtap and Ravina Jagtap. The song features real life transgenders performing the Indian adaptation of Pharrell William’s Happy. Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma provides narration for the song.

Hum Hain Happy is a quirky video song that will definitely lift up your spirits. Music videos having crazy and weird  themes don’t always go down well with the public. But that is not a problem here, as the song has a right mix of the bizarre. It shows bodybuilders, yoga gurus and people from all walks of life moving to the beats of this upbeat track. Beneath all the fun and humor, there is a sound social message that will make you look at the third gender with a new found respect. They want us to make light of our problems because in truth, compared to the humiliation and isolation they face, our problems are truly insignificant.

We can certainly hope to see the 6 Pack Band in action soon as there is a preview to their next song where they collaborate with none other than Sonu Nigam.

Mawra underwent the daunting ordeal in order to shoot for a song… Check out EXCLUSIVE details…

Young actress Mawra Hocane is setting an example in the film industry with her dedication and professionalism.  Sanam Teri Kasam ‘s leading lady underwent a difficult task for the sake of the film. When the first poster of the movie was released featuring the actress in a bathtub, everyone was impressed by the image’s vividness. What most people don’t know is the pain that the cast and crew of Sanam Teri Kasam went through to capture the iconic image.

Director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru have revealed that the shoot for the song Tera Chehra was a very challenging experience for which Mawra was required to shoot continuously in a bathtub for nearly 21 hours. The song was shot in the Presidential suite of a Hotel in Capetown. In the words of Vinay Sapru,” Since the suite is kept exclusively for heads of states, we were allotted only a limited time to shoot there. So we shot from 10 in the morning to about 12 in the afternoon the next day.”

While shooting non stop for an entire day may not be an enjoyable experience for anybody, the shoot must have extremely challenging for the actress and her willpower must be truly amazing. Director Vinay also adds “We are amazed how Mawra pulled it off. She and everyone on the team understood the time constraint and worked their best. The song Tera Chehra is a highly emotional number and one of the most intense love songs, so to maintain the tempo of that intensity, Mawra shot for it continuously. The song is extremely crucial to the film.”

The film is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Wazir is first major Bollywood release of 2016, which stars Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles. Farhan had earlier directed Big B in Lakshya, but this is the first time they are sharing screen together. So will Wazir bring in 2016 with a flourish? The answer, I must say, is not too positive!

What’s it about

Danish Ali (Farhan Akhtar) is a grieving ATS officer, after his daughter is killed in a terrorist shootout, thanks to his recklessness. His wife (Aditi Rao Hydari) blames him for the mishap (rightfully so), and he is also suspended from the force after he botches up their operation to catch the terrorist responsible for his daughter’s death, alive. He even contemplates suicide, but defers his decision when he has a chance meeting with Panditji (Amitabh Bachchan). Panditji is a genius chess grandmaster, who has lost both his legs as well as his wife in an accident. Danish and Panditji bond over chess, and as their friendship grows, Panditji asks him to investigate the death of his daughter, who is said to have died in a staircase mishap at the Welfare Minister’s house. Panditji doesn’t believe it is an accident and feels it’s a murder committed by the minister (Manav Kaul) himself. For the sake of his new friend, Danish decides to unofficially investigate the case, which is closed by the police. As the investigation intensifies, Panditji is attacked by a mysterious assailant called as Wazir, and Danish decides to protect his friend from further attacks. Who is this Wazir? What has he got to do with the Welfare Minister? Will Danish protect Panditji from Wazir? This is what the rest of the film all about…

What’s hot 

First things first…the best aspect about the film are the terrific performances by the lead actors. Both Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan are stellar in their roles. Big B is brilliant in the scene where he reminisces about his dead wife, and also in the final scene. Farhan provides perfect foil to his senior costar, and he brings various nuances to his anguished performance. The film is watchable because of these two actors. Aditi Rao Hydari lets her eyes speak a lot, though she is saddled by a weak role. The first half has some tense moments, leading to the introduction of the mysterious Wazir (played by Neil Nitin Mukesh). Though they appear rather frequently and sometimes forced, the songs are pleasant to hear.

What’s not 

A thriller is like a chess game; it’s only fun if the opponent plays some brilliant unpredictable moves. Unfortunately for Wazir, which ironically is based around chess, the script offers very predictable moves, which we can easily guess even if you have half a brain. Not only that, the film even foretells its moves much before it actually makes them (the scene that establishes why Danish meets Panditji, because the latter ‘lost’ his wallet at the graveyard is the biggest giveaway). Bejoy covers the script’s secrets with a see-thru blanket. Most unforgivable is the way how he treated the Welfare Minister’s character. This was one character that could have been shrouded in mystery, but instead has his cover blown up quite early in the film. The Wazir mystery also, despite the impressive buildup, turns out to be a predictable letdown. The film is filled with convenient loopholes like how a suspended cop manages to use police resources so much like tapping a minister’s phone call, organising nakabandi and also how one particular character manages to hoodwink everyone, despite his limitations. The film also uses flashbacks, either to enlighten audience too much (by showing the same scene twice), or to fool them a la Kahaani. Actually, the film suffers from a hangover of both Kahaani and Talaash (a cop and his estranged wife grieving over their dead child). John Abraham is wasted in an insipid cameo while Neil Nitin Mukesh is…let’s say…like Modi’s Achche Din!

The film doesn’t feel like it’s directed by Bejoy Nambiar, as the film lacks his flair for technical finesse as seen in Shaitan and David.

What to do

Watch the film only for the impressive performances of Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar. However, if you are looking for a good thriller, you might go disappointed!

With the finale drawing closer, all the contestants have upped their game

It was a tedious day for the contestants with everyone getting into the workman’s mode. Prince starts the day by plotting against Rishabh Sinha. Later, everyone tells Priya Malik that she is unnecessarily aggressive but the lady denies it.  Rochelle Maria Rao gets emotional and Mandana Karimi accuses Rishabh of being violent. Here is a lowdown…

Priya gets chided
Housemates wake up to the song Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai and prepare for a tedious day full of tasks. Even though Prince tells Rishabh that the results of the game are evident and it looks like Rishabh, Prince and Kishwer are in the lead, he later plots with Mandana, Kishwer Merchantt and Rochelle against Rishabh. While cooking breakfast, all the housemates tell Priya that she was being very aggressive yesterday and it did not come across as right. She defends herself by saying that Keith Sequeira had a watchful eye on her and even Rishabh disagreed that she was being violent.

Rochelle at the receiving end
Bigg Boss continues the task and all the housemates remain on their A-game. When Priya attacks Kishwer, Prince immediately reaches for her rescue and asks her to tighten her lever with the help of bolts and nuts. When Priya gets aggressive, Mandana hints at how they should take the task in their stride and not get aggressive. Priya remains by Kishwer’s side, trying to attack her, but Kishwer blocks her way. She openly says that they will use their group and loyalty to their benefit and win the game and challenges. When Priya attacks Rochelle, she retaliates by saying that she has not attacked anyone at all. Priya explains that she is targeting Rochelle because she is one of the nominated contestants.

Mandana makes her moves
Later, Prince points fingers at Priya for getting personal during tasks. Every time Priya tries to block Prince’s way, he tries to put her back at her place. He also retaliates by picking Priya up and making her stay away from his funnel. Furthermore, Kishwer and Rochelle playfully attack Rishabh when Priya is way but he plays spoilt sport and pleads them to stop attacking him. After this, Mandana taunts Rishabh for playing like a girl.

When Prince and Rishabh decide to wrestle each other for fun, Rishabh promises that Priya will not attack Prince’s funnel. However, he is taken aback when Priya does not stick to her words and attacks his funnel. This spoils Rishabh’s game as Prince looks at attacking him. Later on, when Rishabh’s knee hits Mandana’s head, she blames him for kicking her on purpose. Rochelle, who is a witness to this incident backs out and doesn’t speak in her favor. This irks Mandana and she further attacks Rochelle.

Priya vs Rochelle
In the next stage of the game, the contestants are now required to leave their levers open and allow the sand to leave the container but at the same time, keep filling the container from the top. The three contestants with the most amount of sand in their container get the access to the next stage of the task. Even as all contestants begin playing their game, Priya aggressively attacks Rochelle. Priya does not budge even as Rochelle’s frustration levels has her tear tanks overflowing and she requests Priya to leave her alone at least for five minutes. Priya does not continues with her attacks but strong-willed Rochelle keeps going in the task.

After the task gets over, all the housemates commend Rochelle’s fighter’s spirit. Her boyfriend Keith feels bad about her for having to bear all the pain and attacks during the task and begins to cry. Not only Keith, but Kishwer who looks genuinely upset over Rochelle’s state sheds some tears. In fact, the most competitive contestant of the lot- Prince also tells Rochelle that she deserves to reach the finale!

The actress is also nominated at the same function for Quantico.

While Quantico might not be a great series as everyone expected it to be, Priyanka Chopra has benefited hugely from the terrorism drama. She had become the talk of the town, as her looks as well as performance was much appreciated!

Not only was she acquired by one of the biggest talent agencies in Hollywood, she was also nominated at the People’s Choice Awards 2016, as the Favourite Actress in a new show, along with the likes of Marcia Gay Harden, Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts. The latest update is that She will also be presenting at the show.

We hadn’t heard about the Baaghi actress Shraddha Kapoor for quite a sometime now. The actor may team up with director Om Raut for a film

Chiyan Vikram is undoubtedly a big name in the Tamil film industry. He can in fact be called a veteran as his acting career now spans more than 25 years. There are very few who can match up to his acting skills and professionalism. Not just is he an amazing actor but he is also a great philanthropist. The I star is even spearheading a tribute video for the Chennai flood victims. Now, it looks like the actor is looking to make a re-entry in B-town.

Rumor has it that the veteran actor is currently in discussion with Marathi director Om Raut for a Bollywood project. If the talks are successful then Vikram might play the role of a Maratha warrior. There are even speculations that the movie will be based on the life of the great Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji and Vikram will be offered the lead role. However, the idea is in its infancy and currently the Kollywood actor is busy with two films in Tamil, Marma Manithan and Garuda. So it doesn’t look like the talks will come to any conclusion or result anytime soon.

It is certainly a very exciting prospect if the rumors turn out to be true. But with the already stiff competition in Bollywood where everyone is fighting to match up to the Khans, what remains to be seen is whether the Kollywood can make any impact second time around after failing in his maiden attempt with Raavan and David.
