Sonam Kapoor is BEAUTIFUL and if anyone has any doubts over it, please take a look at her recent photoshoot that has stunned many. The actress, who recently flew to Chandigarh for the Neerja Bhanot Awards, was documented by a Romanian photographer that created ripples when she made her way to our country.

Mihaela Noroc’s pics went viral as soon as she stepped in our country and she has been on her toes since then getting perfect portraits to capture the essence of true Indian beauty. Noroc has travelled for about 15 months to 45 countries and shot over hundreds of women. Her idea is to celebrate womanhood. During her travels, she made a pit stop to India for two months and visited Varanasi, Delhi, Jodhpur, Pushkar, Amritsar, Mumbai, Nashik and Goa. She met a lot of women here who shared their problems and dreams. She also worked with Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor for this project.

“Sonam is an extraordinary person, a symbol of beauty and success, and my wish was to let Indian women know that all of them are stars for me. I really want to let people in India know how special the women here are and that they deserve admiration, protection and respect, whether they are mothers, sisters or daughters. This photo series is homage to all of them,” she told a daily.

She indeed is on a marvellous path, more power to you Noroc!

The comedian was in judicial custody since last night…

The nightmare for Comedy Nights With Kapil‘s Palak aka Kiku Sharda is finally over as he has just been released from the Fatehabad Police station. The actor has been in and out of police stations since yesterday morning. Yesterday the Kaithal police had detained then arrested him for hurting religious sentiments of a few people after he mimicked the sect head of Sirsa headquartered Dera Sacha Sauda, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in Zee TV’s Jashan-e-Umeed. He was released on a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh, but was arrested by the Haryana police and taken to the Fatehabad Police station late last night for questioning.

He spent the night behind bars, even after he apologised and released a statement saying, “I have a lot of respect for Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singhji. The look (on the show) wasn’t deliberate; it just happened to match (Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s look). We didn’t plan it as a spoof on him. It’s a coincidence, and it is unfortunate. I am sorry that people felt hurt. We never try to do any such thing intentionally, or try to get headlines out of it, or want people to talk about our show in this manner. There is nothing more to it.”

Later on, Kapil Sharma even sent a heartfelt request to the religious leader through Twitter where he said, “Mera sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji se nivedan hai ki is masle me media ke samne aye aur ek kalaakar jo duniya me sirf khushi bantne ka kaam kar rha hai k haq me khade hokar puri duniya me insaaniyat ki ek khoobsurat misaal pesh kre. Aao saath milkar shaanti aur khushi ke liye kaam kre.” (I appeal to Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh ji “INSAAN” to come in front of the media in regard to this matter and present a beautiful example of kindness by defending an actor, who only spreads happiness through his acting. Let’s work for peace and happiness together)”

Now, we can CONFIRM that the comedian has been released by the cops after he agreed to join and help in the investigation. A news agency quoted SHO Dinesh Kumar stating, “After questioning by Fatehabad (Haryana) police, actor #KikuSharda has been released.”

Kiku Sharda has been in the news since yesterday morning, following his arrest by the police in a mimicry case against him. The comedian, who is a part of Kapil Sharma’s Comedy Nights With Kapil, was arrested by the Goregaon Police yesterday for hurting religious sentiments of a few people after he mimicked the sect head of Sirsa headquartered Dera Sacha Sauda, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in Zee TV’s Jashan-e-Umeed.

He was released on bail after submitting a bond of Rs 1 lakh, however he was rearrested by the Haryana police yesterday night and has been released a few minutes ago. While, this controversy keeps going, many people have come in support of the comedian who had said to have mimicked the religious head for amusement and not to hurt anyone. But soon enough reports of rifts between the two started to surface leading to the news about an apparent divorce. Turns out with each passing day, the divorce proceedings is getting uglier. Sanjay Kapur has filed a fresh divorce petition in Bandra family court and accused the actress of marrying him for money.

A leading daily provided excerpts from the petition and it sounds really nasty. According to it, Karisma Kapoor married Sunjay Kapur for his money and in a calculated and clinical manner, sponged off his family to pursue a lavish lifestyle. The petition apparently mentions that Karisma married Sunjay on a rebound in 2003 after her break-up with Abhishek Bachchan. “The respondent [Karisma] has failed not only as a wife and daughter-in-law, but also as a mother,” says the petition. The daily further reported that Sanjay has also accused Karisma of using their kids as pawns so that she can get more money. In fact, he even says that she didn’t let his kids meet his ailing father. Karisma’s lawyer Kranti Sathe told the daily in reply to these allegations that, “We will tell the court that he is causing great harm to the children’s welfare by spreading false stories. We don’t want trial by media.”

The arrest of comic actor Kiku Sharda for allegedly hurting the sentiments of a godman and his followers, has put a question mark on the entire cult of stand-up comedy in this country. Kiku’s colleague Sunil Grover (aka Gutthi) from Comedy Nights With Kapil recalls Kiku’s arrest with a shudder. “Ironically, we were shooting the last episode of Comedy Nights before wrapping up on Wednesday night. Late in the night, when we wrapped up they came to take Kiku away. Frankly, he was petrified. We tried to reason with the cops. But they wouldn’t hear any of it.”

Apparently, the whole idea of doing a take-off on the particular godman was masterminded by the channel and the writers of Comedy Nights. Kiku was only putting across lines that were given to him.

Says Sunil, “We all know that religious sentiments must never be allowed to be hurt in any of the jokes. It’s one of the first rules of stand-up comedy. I don’t know how Kiku ended up doing what he did. All I can say is, he was made a scapegoat.”

Sunil feels the incident augurs badly for comedy in India. “From now on, we comic actors need a lawyer on the sets every time we shoot an episode of a comedy show, to ensure the jokes are not liable to hurt anyone.The agony of his family as they waited for his release could have been my family’s agony, too.” Another colleague, who doesn’t wish to be named, says, “They had to arrest Kiku to appease the godman’s fanatical devotees. They wanted revenge for the alleged insult. They got it.”

Jackie Chan presented Sonu Sood a stretching machine, so he could become more flexible to perform action scenes better and faster…

Sonu Sood who is currently shooting for Jackie Chan’s forthcoming Hollywood film, Kung Fu Yoga in Beijing (China) was pleasantly surprised when Chan created a make shift gym for the cast and crew, along with a 8-feet custom made stretching machine for the actor to help in his workouts.

Sonu says, “The schedule has been hectic, leaving us with very little time to workout in a proper gym. Jackie Chan’s Stunts (JCS) team put together a gym for us on the location. And Jackie himself gave me a stretch machine to work out with as he felt I would get faster and acquire more strength and stamina. I have never worked out on something like this before. It has five different levels for stretching – increasing the stretches till the body gets used to working out on the whole machine. I get to practice in between shots. The machine helps me get quicker and stronger for the action sequences. JCS has over four lakh stunt guys all over the world with Jackie himself training even sixth generation children. His ambition is to make everybody super strong and super fast.”

According to Sonu many people are under the impression that muscles make them stronger which is a myth in reality. “Jackie works on tendons more than muscles as they make the body stronger. While working on his films one has to be super quick like his team so I had been training every day. I am more into stretching now and not weight training. Now that I am back in Mumbai I want to make sure that we have them installed in my building too and at the gym where I work out. People here are missing out on this machine which is a natural strength and flexibility builder. A lot of people in my gym are following my routines so I want them to follow my stretch building routines too. 100 per cent of your muscle fibers can be targeted, as opposed to 40 per cent without the machine. Being able to stimulate up to 100 per cent of your muscle fibers allows for gains in speed, strength, vertical, and also allows for proper recovery post workout or competition. So it can be used through Whole Body Vibration to increase flexibility, strength, bone density, and much more.” If Jackie Chan says, it’s good, it’s good. No argument.

And it seems that Rangoon’s schedule may get delayed coz of this…

Rangoon has been in the spotlight since it was announced. Earlier people were excited to know who will feature in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ambitious Casablanca-inspired love story, then the actor’s look made fans drool and now the latest story puts the film in the news again. It seems that yesterday the film, which is set during the Second World War, came to an abrupt halt. Why?

Shahid Kapoor and a Japanese actor were were injured during a fight sequence on the sets of the film. Shahid and Kangana Ranaut were shooting in a bombed out village with a huge convoy of Japanese soldiers when this incident happened.

Yesterday, we revealed to you how Aamir Khan seems to have injured his leg during an action sequence in Ludhiana and now Shahid has injured himself too. It seems it’s the injury season and everyone is getting hurt some or the other way. So while shooting for the action sequence for Rangoon, Shahid injured his finger and also developed a fever after getting drenched for over six hours in a rain sequence. Talking to a leading daily, Vishal Bharadwaj mentioned, “We were hoping he’d (Shahid) be back today but I’ve just got a call from his doctor informing me that his temperature is still high and he won’t be able to resume work.”

Talking about the injured Japanese actor, he added, “The Japanese actor was hurt in the chest and rushed to the hospital. X-rays revealed a slight inflammation and he has been advised rest. But he’s an energetic fighter and will be up and running soon.”

Earlier during the first schedule, a noted British actor Richard McCabe shot for Rangoon for around 10 days before returning to London. “He has been diagnosed with pneumonia, but is recovering and will be back soon,“ he revealed.

However, Vishal is happy with the content he has till now. As she said, “Everything we’ve shot for so far is something you’ve never seen on screen before. The scale is huge, far bigger than I imagined. At least two-three films on World War 2 come out of the West every year, but this is the first time we will learn about India’s involvement in the war. So many soldiers were killed, there are so many graves in Burma.”

The film moves to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh next, post which they will shoot in Burma. However, the director is hoping that the injuries don’t affect the schedule. As he mentioned,”I hope the recent hitch will not hit this schedule for a six. This delay is already costing us plenty.”

This picture surely makes us speculate if the duo have a film together or it’s just a friendly chat. Hopefully we’ll get to see them perform together and better yet, even act together somewhere in the near future.

Kiku Sharda loved by all for his portrayal of Palak/Laccha in Comedy Nights with Kapil was taken in judicial custody by the Haryana police because of a complaint filed against him by members of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect. He was charged with insulting their sentiments by mimicking their sect head, Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on a TV show. Kiku’s arrest sparked outrage with celebs coming out to support him. He was released on bail after his apology was accepted by the self-styled guru on social media.

Sana Sheikh who plays the lead role in the upcoming show, Krishnadasi got married to her beau, Ayaz Sheikh. It was a private affair with only two to three celebs as invitees.

Actor Rajesh Vivek who was known for his role in Lagaan passed away due to cardiac arrest.

Darsheel Safary will make his debut on a fictional TV show by playing the role of a young lover in one of the episodes of Sun Yaar Try Maar.

Aakanksha Singh, whom we remember for her lovely performance in Na Bole Maine Tumne Kuch Kaha is reportedly all set to act in a new show, Ek Duje Ke Vaste.

Zee TV launched its new show, Meri Sasu Maa starring Hiba Nawab and Pearl V Puri with great fanfare. It talks about a motherless girl’s relationship with her mother-in-law.

Channel V also launched two shows Sadda Haq Season 2 and Mastaangi to cement its place in youth shows segment.

Mahima Makwana better known as Manasvini from Adhuri Kahani Hamari suffered injuries on the sets but she was fine after a CT scan.

Amar Upadhyay hurt his elbow on the sets of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, which needed dressing.

Aasiya Kazi also injured herself while performing in a show in Jodhpur.
