The actress, who is currently busy shooting her television show Quantico in Motreal also winning awards simultaneously, has Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangaajal up for release. The team released an interesting video that caught us by surprise. In the over-a-minute video, Priyanka is singing the national anthem with much élan. We simply love her way of doing things differently even when she’s SUPER busy.

For the very first time a lady cop will be seen beating some baddies around the Prakash Jha film Jai Gangaajal and giving amazing dialogues so you can expect a lady Singham pretty soon. The film features Priyanka Chopra as a heroic cop battling corruption in a small Bihar town. After supporting roles in a string of films from Barfi to Bajirao Mastani, for Priyanka Jai Gangaajal seemed like a showcase to shine in a heroine-centric role. “Proud to be Indian & so thankful for everything this wonderful nation has given me!Happy Republic Day,” she said through her Twitter handle.

So yesterday night was quite a starry one with veteran actors making their way to the 3rd National Yash Chopra Memorial Awards. Veteran actress Rekha dazzled in gold while Sridevi looked stunning as well. Rekha in fact, was even conferred with the Yash Chopra memorial award. She was presented the award by Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao as they recognised the actress for her talent and immense contribution to the film industry. The actress also quoted saying how honoured she was to have received the award. She said, “I take this award not just as a validation but something of a reminder to say that the curtains have not fallen yet.There is still the best to come in the near future. It is reminder to do better than the best, better than ever before. It’s not my last chapter, but best chapter.”

While several veterans Shatrughan Sinha, Sridevi, Jaya Prada, Pam Chopra, Subhash Ghai, Boney Kapoor made their presence felt, even youngster Ranveer Singh made it for the event. Ranveer was seen socialising quite a lot with all the celebrities. And yes, of course, he congratulated Rekha for her award and they ended up doing some goofy things for the camera as well. I must say, wherever Ranveer goes, he makes sure that some fun things happen. It was big night for Rekha and she credited Yash Chopra for the same as she said, “He taught me how to love. Not only through his film I understood ‘Oh this is love’, not only it’s beautiful while talking… it’s a feeling, which cannot be seen but every one feels. That Yash ji taught me. I became a poetess in his company.”

The actress credits her hard work for winning the national award!

Priyanka Chopra is the new sensation worldwide and we are so damn proud of our home girl for that. The actress, who is shooting immensely for her many projects at hand, is also at the receiving end of many awards this season and the most prestigious one being the national award.

Priyanka will be conferred with Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour. She is one of the youngest celebrity to have won such an honour. She also became the first South Asian actor to win People’s Choice Awards (Favourite actress) for her American TV show Quantico earlier this month. There is no stopping this dynamite that Priyanka is!

Priyanka Chopra, who won the National award for Fashion, has turned up critically acclaimed performances in movies like Kaminey, Agneepath, Barfi, Mary Kom and Bajirao Mastani. “Being awarded the Padma Shri from the Government of India is a great honour and I am humbled to receive it. I am the daughter of Indian Defence Services…. the child of 2 army officers, which makes this so much more special to me. I know that this Award would have made my father very proud of me. My congratulations to the other awardees of this year. I am privileged to be a part of such an illustrious list of achievers,” she said. She started shooting for Mary Kom immediately, after her father died in June 2013 after his long battle with cancer, to avoid dealing with her loss.

PeeCee is currently in Montreal to shoot for the second installment of her international television show. “To be a part of this century old Indian Cinema, for more than a decade has been a fantastic journey. I have grown not only as an actor but also as an individual. I share this honour with all my co stars, directors, technicians and everyone who has been part of this journey with me,” she added.

The team met to celebrate the 10 year mark of a revolutionary film!

As Rang De Basanti completed 10 years of release, its star cast, including Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and Siddharth, danced to the tune of popular Pathshala song and launched a documentary on the iconic youth film.

At an event in Mumbai on January 25, Aamir, Sharman, Siddharth and Atul Kulkarni danced to Pathshala song along with ace choreographer Ganesh Acharya. The film’s team, including director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, got emotional while speaking about the movie and audience response it generated. “I would break down if I talk…I can’t talk now,” Mehra told reporters in Mumbai.

Aamir, too, said it was an emotional moment for those involved with the 2006 blockbuster movie, which revolved around issues of patriotism and spirit of rebellion. “It is an emotional moment for us. It has been a unique experience while working on this film. It feels good that the film has had an effect on the audience. “I agree with our director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra that a film belongs to the audience upon its release. We are grateful to people for their love and support,” he added.

Present on the occasion was veteran actress Waheeda Rehman, who recalled the film’s success and the mark it left on the audience’s mind. “I am happy to be part of this film. I am grateful to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for it.”

The cast of Rang De Basanti reunited to mark 10 years of its release. On the occasion, the film was screened at a theatre in suburban Mumbai.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan met President Francois Hollande at a special lunch hosted by French envoy Francois Richier in Delhi today. The actress has been a frequent visitor to the Cannes Festival in France for over a decade. She is also a recipient of ‘Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters’, the second highest French civilian honour.

French President Hollande, who is on a three-day visit to India, was the Chief Guest at the Republic Day celebrations today. The private event is being hosted by the ambassador of France, Francois Richier tomorrow and French-origin actress Kalki Koechlin is also one of the invitees. “The Bollywood celebrities have been invited to have lunch with the President. It is a private event. They will discuss films,” French government sources said.

Shah Rukh, 50, has been accorded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres award by the French government for his “exceptional career” in 2007, In 2014, he was conferred the Legion of Honour, France’s highest civilian award. Aishwarya, a former beauty queen has been a frequent visitor to the Cannes Festival in France for over a decade.

Meanwhile Aishwarya is focusing on her upcoming biopic Sarbjit. Sarbjit is a biopic based on the life of the Indian villager who unwittingly crossed from Punjab into Pakistani and was arrested. While human right activists fought to free him and bring him home, he died in a Pakistan prison.

Dekho, aap jab picture mein kaam karte hai, it depends aapka audience kya chahta hai. Drama picture hai toh aap drama karenge, action hai toh action karenge aur agar adult comedy hai toh bold scenes yeh sab karenge. But Bigg Boss jo show hai, it’s about your personality. It’s about who you are and I was just being honest. Me being rude wasn’t for TRP. Four months in the house, you are out into situations that demand reactions. There were people who would bitch about you behind your back. But I always said it on face that dude, I don’t like you. So I was just being myself.”

Considering even the shot where she sported a swim suit was edited out. Mandana added, ” Coz I was covered. Agar main two piece mein hoti toh nahi karte edit. So maine jo kiya hai poora TRP ke liye nahi kiya hai. I appreciated Colors for taking me in the show. Why you are in the show ? To entertain people. Simple. For example, Nora’s way to entertain was by falling in love. She even said that on the stage right? But my way was only to be myself. I wanted to play Mandana, that’s it!”

Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam have been in news lately for their alleged link up. The Sanam Re actors are currently busy with the promotions of their film and their intense romance in the film has become the talk of the town.

It is also reported that ever since Pulkit started doing a film with Yami, differences between him and his wife Shweta Rohira started cropping up and this led to their divorce. Gossip mongers have it that Yami is one the prominent reason behind the split of husband and wife.

Yami and Pulkit have never opened up about their affair and have maintained their silence. In fact Miss Gautam has distanced herself from the promotions of the film to avoid the questions dodged by the media. She has been attending only selective events.

Resul is well known for winning an Oscar for his work in Slumdog Millionaire

Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty received nominations in two categories at Motion Picture Sound Editors‘ 63rd annual Golden Reel Awards for the films “Unfreedom” and “India’s Daughters”, both of which are banned in India.

Pookutty took to Twitter to acknowledge the nominations.

“Two nominations at #MPSE is a rare feat! I thank my crew and my fraternity for allowing me to grow and standing as the greatest support system,” Pookutty tweeted.He also dedicated his nominations to the victim of the brutal gangrape that took place in the moving bus in Delhi on December 16, 2012.

“I dedicate my nominations at the 63rd Golden Reel Award to the soul of Jyoti of Nirbhaya case, truly the #India’sDaughter,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Unfreedom”, a film on homosexuality, was nominated in Feature Film – Foreign Film (Sound Effects, Foley, Dialogue & ADR) categorgy. Directed by Raj Amit Kumar, the film was banned in India due to its bold scenes. Leslee Udwin’s controversial BBC documentary “India’s Daughter”, which is also banned in India, received nomination in the Television – Short Form, Documentary category.

“Mad Max: Fury Road”, “The Martian”, “The Revenant” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” lead the way on the film side with three nominations apiece. HBO’s hit show “Game of Thrones” came out on top in the TV categories with a trio of mentions as well.

Winners will be announced on February 27.

So Sunday night was a busy one for Twitter and Instagram as the reunion picture of the Friends cast flooded their pages! Well, for obvious reasons! The much awaited reunion finally took place on Sunday without Matthew Perry (We missed you Chandler) but it sure seemed like a fun night. Matthew, better known as Chandler Bing, couldn’t make it for the reunion because he was stuck in London due to a scheduling conflict. But the others, Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Greene), Courtney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) made it for the NBC taping of Must See TV: A Tribute To James Burrows. And while the Friends attended the reunion, there were quite a few things that happened which caught our fancy!

Firstly this spectacular picture of when Friends met The Big Bang Theory, courtesy Kaley Cuoco! We can’t thank her enough for sharing this picture on her Instagram page. This was the exact picture that spread like wildfire on social media.

Something really unexpected happened on the night of the reunion! Monica and Joey finally gave us a romantic angle to swoon over! Reportedly, the Courtney and Matt reached the venue before the others and exchanged a kiss as well. Something not many came across!

When Rachel caught Joey and Monica in the act! So while Cox and LeBlanc embraced and had a nice chat, Jennifer Aniston got off the car and joined the duo. And obviously, meeting after such a long time did deserve a hug so Jen and Cox hugged it out.

The Friends cast seated on a couch spoke about their show and Chandler sent across a taped video of his where he shared his memories of what happened on the sets and how he missed out on a lot of time because he didn’t remember most of it.

The Atlee directed movie will hit screens in April

Kollywood actor Vijay‘s first offering for his fans in 2016 will be his cop action movie Theri. The film also stars Amy Jackson, Samantha and also the Ilayathalapathy’s daughter, Divya. This will be the first time that the mass hero is working with director Atlee. The final shoot was wrapped up about a week ago in Ladakh. But ever since the movie has wrapped up, very little detail has emerged about Theri and fans grow restless awaiting the teaser. And it looks like they may have to wait a little while longer.

A source told an entertainment website that the teaser for the much anticipated movie should surely be unveiled on or around February 5. The source adds that the director plans to keep the plot line of his directorial venture a complete mystery. He doesn’t even want the audiences to take a guess at what Theri might offer. Also, the teaser will apparently be only 50 seconds long, so an action packed visual treat is expected. Atlee can capitalize on Vijay’s charisma and screen presence very well which will satisfy the fans to a great extent and not give out much of the actual story.

With the first look itself creating a huge hype and every new tidbit followed closely, it is very crucial for Vijay and his team to present a fantastic teaser. Hopefully, the Theri team will start promoting for the movie soon and all the secrets will soon be out.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s association with France has been long and wonderful. She is a regular the Cannes Film Festival and is also a brand ambassador for a popular French beauty brand. She was the guest of honour at the prestigious luncheon organised by the French Ambassador Francois Richier in the capital.

Ash chose to go all desi and wore a classic red Banarasi saree at the do. the weave of this saree is called ‘mehraab’ . This six yard wonder’s fabric is essentially mulberry silk and the zari and boota work is done using silver threads dipped in gold! Whoa this is one hell of a royal garment. Designers Swati and Sunaina have designed this saree.

Aishwarya chose a heavy polki set to go with this elaborate saree. She wore a bright shade of pink on her lips and finished her look with the bunched up hairdo. She added two roses in her bun for that extra traditional feel. Now, she totally looks classic and retro, don’t you think?

Sanaya Irani got married to long-time boyfriend, Mohit Sehgal on the sandy beaches of Uttorda in South Goa on January 25. Everyone on social media wanted to see pictures from their wedding and fans went crazy professing their love for their favourite couple as well blessing the newly weds. While, the wedding wrapped up by sunset, the party just started. The duo held a wedding reception for their friends and family at the Planet Hollywood Beach Resort on January 25 and we have to say it was a blast.

Sanaya looked gorgeous as she wore a white shimmery outfit. On the other hand, Mohit wore a three piece black suit and he looked equally hot. The duo sizzled as they danced together and walked around posing for pictures and selfies with friends and family.

The gypsy themed reception saw Mohit’s pals Arjun Bijlani, Raqesh Vashishth and Barun Sobti looking handsome. Drashti Dhami, Neha Swami and Riddhi Dogra were spotted in glitzy avatars too.

The couple have been dating for almost eight years now. Mohit is a couple of years younger to Sanaya but that has never been an issue. While Sanaya was last seen on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded, Mohit is the lead in Sarojini. The newly weds are called as MoNaya by their fans. We wish them a great life ahead.

If there’s anything that’s really shameful in the telly town right now then it has to be Parth Samthaan and Vikas Gupta’s ugly controversy. A fight that started off with Parth framing molestation charges against Vikas has now brought their relationship under the scanner. Right from calling them gay to how they broke up a few years back, people have been discussing their affair left right and center. Things got even nasty when Vikas further came up with this Twitter post which had him posing with Parth in a really awkward position. While Vikas’s tweet said it all. Turns out Parth is now trying to patch up with Vikas and end this fight once and for all. Yes!

In his recent interview with an online portal, Parth opened up about the whole fuss around his affair with Vikas and said, “ I would like to send a message to Vikas Gupta. Vikas, yes we were friends and have worked together. Things in between fell out and got a bit ugly. However, you are talented, have your professional responsibilities and I too want to focus on my career ahead. Hence, let’s end this once and for all, mutually decide to bury the hatchet and move on.  I want to end the conflict and embrace peace.

Talking about Vikas’s Twitter post, he added, “Of course I am in the pic. It’s not morphed. Vikas and I were friends, and these things are pretty normal moments of bonhomie when you are cordial with each other. But I have no idea. Why would he even do something which could jeopardize mine and his career, goes beyond my understanding. He leaks out something, the media calls me. Tomorrow I leak out something, the media will call him. How long will this continue? I am of tired of it now.”

The lyricist slams the actress’ choices…

While people of India along with various actors are supporting Sunny Leone, renowned lyricist and screen-writer, Prasoon Joshi criticised her. A few days ago, when the cast and crew of Rang De Basanti came together for celebrating a decade of the film, Aamir Khan was asked about working with Sunny Leone. The superstar gracefully said that he had no problems in working with her in a film. But writer and Aamir Khan’s close friend, Prasoon Joshi expressed contradictory views on the actress and her past adult profession.

While talking about the choices that she has made, Prasoon mentioned, “I would like to say that you can have a comment on someone’s professional choice. Because it is not necessary that every profession has to be a good one and if it is not a good profession, it should be criticised. I would like to say this. Sometimes we start praising a profession to the skies. It is important that the profession which is connected to our lives should do great work for the society. It should do something positive for the society.”

But the lyricist also cleared that he wouldn’t disrespect the actress, he just does not have respect for Sunny Leone’s past profession. As he revealed, “I don’t respect Sunny Leone’s profession. I wouldn’t want our youth to get inspired by her profession. But because of that to make a person feel as an accused and disrespect her is not something that one should do. But this should not be taken to mean that if someone is a drug dealer by profession that should be seen as his personal work. I will not respect that profession. And I will say that you shouldn’t be doing this. But that doesn’t mean that when that comes before me will I disrespect him or her. I wouldn’t. My culture doesn’t allow me. But I will not praise her profession. If there is a profession which doesn’t play a constructive role in building a great society we need to criticise it as well. It’s a free society. People have choices to make, and if choices are not great those should be criticised. Somewhere one should draw a fine line.”

It has been a while since Himesh Reshammiya made an appearance. The last venture of his with respect to music was Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. I thought that was all. But then the trailer of his film Teraa Surroor released today and I sat on my seat in bewilderment. It’s a three minute trailer that goes around Himesh’s favourite genre of films, suspense thriller. The film is in fact, a sequel to his 2007 Aap Ka Surroor. When the trailer starts, you see this incredibly pretty chick (Farah Karimieaa) on the lookout by police intelligence. Well, obviously the next scene had to be her being arrested by the cops for she’s the one they are looking for. And just as the damsel falls in distress, her hero, which in this case is Himesh Reshammiya makes an entry with his ripped body and an all new avatar! And what follows next is this whole rat race of getting his love out of the mess. But is she really innocent or is there some big mastermind who has swiftly trapped her?

Well, the trailer offers a lot of things. First is the hot Farah Karimeaa who is Tara Wadia, supposed bad girl. Then we have Himesh Reshammiya who in every bit is the bad boy with his ripped body and the fact that he has a steamy sex scene. Yes. The sex scene is so steamy, slightly derived from Hate Story 3 and 50 Shades of Grey, that you’ll be surprised. It also stars Kabir Bedi, Nasseruddin Shah and Shekhar Kapur in pivotal roles. What however, baffles me is how confusing the trailer is. There’s love and hate between Farah and Himesh at the same time. However, Himesh, still jumps to rescue his lady love, if at all she is innocent. The singer turned actor even mentions how ‘mysterious’ their love story is. Oh and I just couldn’t miss out on this badass dialogue, “Chal paagal paagal khelte hai”. The trailer has too much to offer that I’m left questioning a lot of things including my existence. And while the trailer is racey and thrilling, Himesh’s expressions remain constant. Just lovin’ it!

Slated to release on 11th March, the film is directed by Shawn Arranha. The film has a stellar cast with brilliant actors and they also have Himesh Reshammiya and debutant Farah Karimeaa in leads. So do not miss this trrailer BollywoodLifers!

Katrina Kaif is the brand ambassador of a company which also has Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the same capacity. Recently, they shot an ad for the brand which was extremely eye-catchy. Of course, when three majestically beautiful ladies come together in one frame, the affect is just picture perfect. Guess the three actresses bonded really well thanks to the brand and now Katrina even has a wish. She wants a desi remake of Charlie’s Angels with three of them together.

Katrina was speaking to the media at an event for the brand when she said, “I really think someone should do a Hindi version of Charlie’s Angels and they should cast us (Aishwarya, Sonam and her). I will suggest that to someone. It would be a perfect cast.” Come to think of it, Katrina isn’t wrong in suggesting a cast like that. The actress has already shown her mean moves in Ek Tha Tiger, Sonam has Neerja coming up that shows her in a daredevil role and Aishwarya packed a lot of punch in Jazbaa. Filmmakers, are you listening? Here’s a spectacular film ready to become a blockbuster. But we wonder why she didn’t name Deepika Padukone because she definitely has the body and persona befitting an angel. Katrina, would you please care to answer that?

The actress just admitted how eager she is to try television, post Bigg Boss 9. Read on to know more..

We all saw how Katrina Kaif reunited with ex-lover Salman Khan during the finale of Bigg Boss 9. The two looked no less than a vision together where reports even suggested if the former couple is planning to reconcile considering Katrina has broken up with Ranbir Kapoor. Well, we dunno what destiny holds for this above love triangle but Katrina definitely seems to be making good use of her friendship with Salman. In the sense, she is not only seeking advice from Salman post break-up but turns out she’s even following his footsteps to make her television debut sometime soon. Yes!

At a recent media interaction, Katrina was asked to comment on her experience meeting Salman on Bigg Boss 9 and the actress quickly elated, “My experience was very wonderful. TV is the biggest platform and I have been thinking since then that I would like to try it out too, as a judge or a host or anything.”

Although Katrina didn’t mention Salman anywhere but given that she admitted how Bigg Boss 9 changed her idea about television, we wonder if Salman had a say in it. Considering the way he showered immense praises on Kat during the episode itself, we wouldn’t be surprised if he later suggested her to try television. You never know! Bigg Boss 10, maybe? Ahem!
